My manicure turned out nice. Getting to that result was difficult. I've had acrylic nails for forty years - done all over the world. These people are very rude. I love this place, I come here all the time! It's a big salon so it's easy to get appointments at last minute and they are always super fast and do a great job. They have a great selection of colours. They also play just for laughs on the tv which is fun to watch while your hands are tied! read more

Worst professional experience I've ever had. The lady doing my nails was rude and unprofessional. About the nails...60$ for a nasty result: the nails are lifted and badly painted. I have been going to Super A Nails for pedicures/manicures for a few years now and to date, my experiences have all been very positive. When I call in the morning, I have always been able to get an appointment in the afternoon. Today, I was greeted by name as were other customers arriving after me. I observed that the customers chatted comfortably with the persons attending to them who were efficient and thorough in their work. The foot and leg massages are heavenly and I was treated with the utmost respect. One of the customers was already talking about returning in 6 weeks! Update since last post on 30/06: I've since heard back from the salon apologizing and offering me a pedicure at no charge. I need to let my toenails grow, but am debating whether to return, even at no cost. We'll see. Update again: I didn't take them up on their offer. I will never return there again. I've been to Super A three times, always for a shellac manicure. If you get one of the more experienced ladies, you'll get an awesome manicure. With some of the less experienced, it's hit or miss. The prices are above average. Today I paid $62 for a shellac mani + regular polish pedi. It's never too busy (I've only ever been there on Sunday afternoons). The parking situation is heinous, sometimes you need to park up on the street. There's a gym and a Starbucks in the same plaza that really take up the whole lot. The gym seems to be moving in September, so that may help things. I've never seen them do anything dodgy in terms of hygiene, and I am always on the lookout for that kind of stuff. I frequented this salon fairly often for shellac manicures and spa pedicures. I've had certain staff provide excellent service: very attentive and detail-orientated. I've also had, unfortunately, distracted staff who scroll through their phones while waiting for the curing on a shellac. After that service, I came home and noticed one of my nails had been filed crooked. As it was shellac, I couldn't simply file it down to match. As well, I've noticed general inconsistency amongst services. The pedicure is nice with the hot towel and scrub; I've gone and had the towel not applied, or the scrub skipped. It really depends on who you get. The place is spotless and very hygienic. If you don't mind (sometimes) brisk service, this is a spot for you. There is a Starbucks within the same unit so its convenient to go grab a coffee / tea before you relax. read more

I got a dip manicure and regular pedicure done here. The end result was great - looks wonderful even though I had to spend time digging out the glue from under my nails. My complaint was the service itself. The woman was quite distracted and curt with me. It was very rushed. I went with a friend and her technician was much slower so they start my manicure very early and I was done much earlier (having to sit in a different part of the salon for a large portion of it even though we went together). The hot towel for the feet is nice, but it was extremely hot and hurt my feet (didn't test it on my feet before wrapping them quickly). She was also very rough with my toes and feet, I have arthritis in my toes and I broke my ankle last year so it wasn't very comfortable. The worst part was the hygiene. The nail technician put the tools for my feet on a paper towel on the floor. The emery board looked used, but she was so rude I felt uncomfortable asking about it. Then when she was doing my manicure she dropped the cuticle tools on the floor by accident (whoops! stuff happens). She however, then just picked it up and kept using them on my nails. She used them before I even had a chance to say please get a new set. Although the nails looks good and I don't seem to have any ill effects from anything, around the nail bed and on my feet, dead skin has been peeling off (i.e. it was not exfoliated properly), which I didn't have before I was even exfoliated. My heels were very rough. It cost me about 100 dollar for all of it. I would generally avoid this experience again. It was rushed and unhygienic. I will likely take my business elsewhere. read more

Bad parking. Fine service. HORRIBLE job done. Extremely expensive. I went in to get one nail fixed and a quick fill. I asked for gel... But I seriously think it's acrylic... The polish could of used at least another coat, and the shapes aren't even similar. The man doing my nails seriously needed to blow his nose, and he was rushing like crazy - hence the hack-job. I paid $45 plus tip ($4 which was actually way too much) Wtf. To start off the location is in a weird spot, it's in a building that looks like it could've been designed by M.C. Escher, (It's "u" shaped and the building hosts up to 5 other businesses). Parking is sub-par, it's basically Battle Royale for space. Once inside my friend and I were promptly greeted (I would also suggest making an appointment beforehand). One thing that caught my eye is the special sized salon chairs, just for kids, This is probably the only place I know of that offers this service. The prices are what you'd expect ranging from $30-$50 (+tax) for a manicure, pedicure. I went with a friend, the staff who worked there were friendly enough, the staff made sure we were seated together and our appointments finished at the same time. I think my shellac lasted for about a week and a half? My pedicure is just starting to chip now. I will go back, maybe on another girls day or something. I wish the location was a little closer or the parking more convenient. I don't think we would have been seen had I not called ahead to book our appointments. I gave it 3 stars because it wasn't terrible, but it didn't go above and beyond. I was very much middle of the road, and I left a happy customer. read more

My friend and I got a mani-pedi with shellac nails done here. My pedicure was lacking in massage, and my friend has cuts around her cuticles from the manicure. My manicure chipped within 24 hours of having it done, and my nails weren't shaped properly. I won't be going back. read more

I am a retired Nailtech and went there due to an unscheduled event 1 yr ago. and needed an Acrylic set done. Not a good experience, two different people servicing me one could almost speak English the other lady not a word. To sum it up had to rush home and try to fix the mistakes after $60.00 including tip. Maybe I'll get my eyes done so I can get back to doing a quality job not the terrible job I had experienced here. There is no consistency here in Ottawa anymore for Quality work and saying Gel or Solar Gel for Actual Acrylic to get more money is not good business practice. They have very rude staff and the lady who did my nails destroyed my fingers. I had gone back for her to fix them the same day and she smudged them and didn't bother even fixing them. This location, in Ottawa is one of the few that offer a specific service that I had been looking for. When I had first gone my first and second time I was 85% satisfied with what I had received, as I kept going back it seemed that the "rules" for creating the nails I desired had suddenly changed. I had to resort to a different method which I did not especially like... a more recent experience was the last two times I had gone in my nails were not done with quality and were very weak. I have recently gone in, and once again was told things could not be done the way I wanted it to be (in my eyes, if you are one of the few locations offering this service wouldn't you master the trade).. anyhow they fixed my nails but it was definitely not done properly as the technician that had done it did not compare the length or shape of the other fingers, I repeatedly had to remind them to make sure it was the same. It was a half fast job, and I had begun to get impatient with the work. I have given this place the benefit of the doubt several times and I am over it. Not to mention at one point my prices varied drastically from one visit to another. read more

I got acrylic nails done here a few days ago and they were done poorly, too much acrylic was piled on and very unevenly and in some spots missing. I mentioned it to the technician but she said "no" and that the nails were pretty. Luckily I have a tool at home for nails so I fixed them up and re polished them. This was our second visit and we were very disappointed with the quality of the work and the service. I made an appointment for two and visited the salon with my daughter - her cuticle were cut in three places and the manicurist didn't even apologize. The nail polish on both of our nails started peeling within days of the manicure. The manicurist that di my daughter's nails seemed almost annoyed that we were there and seemed unhappy that she had to take care of us. We will not be returning and we do not recommend. read more
