The numerous times that I was at Playa del Carmen, I was diving with Tank-Ha. I am truly pleased to see that they are in business still and from the ratings, are obviously doing a great job. When I was diving, I went to several cenote dives with them and a videographer named Steve from California. He was employed with Tank ha, or at least served their clientele on an exclusive basis. He and I got to be very good friends. I don't know if he is still there, or if he is still even in Mexico, he was about my age. Happened to recently find some of the old VHS tapes that I got when I went diving with Steve through Tank ha. After a dive day, he would take a few of us to his house, serve us beer and popcorn, and show us that days diving videos which we obviously purchased. When I ran across these the other day, they brought back some really great memories and I cannot imagine that the dive shop has done anything but improve. They were the greatest then and I'm sure they're even better now.

Your paying to have a good time so most reviews would likely be 100% positive 5 star reviews most likely. With that being said I would still give Alejandro and snokleshop 5. Stars. We did the arrecife and sinote tour. 3 stars minimum were undeniable. The reef is second largest in the world. We were treated to wondrous view. I will say we felt pushed along to swim hard for long durations. It would have been nice to relax. The 2nd part of the day after a very nice lunch was the sinote. I reall thought it was going to be a open sinote but I was surprised to find that we were going to a partially open one. It was majestic. Alejandro made every moment funnier and more interesting. You can try other places, but you can't lose scheduling a trip with the group

Our tour guide Alex was really cool and very accommodating. My friend and I could only stay for the first part of the tour and Alex was able to take us back to our hotel before the rest of the group continued to the cenote. We were picked up from our hotel early in the morning and taken straight to the reef. After suiting up in our appropriate life jackets, masks, and flippers, we jumped in a boat and were taken out further into the ocean towards the reef. The water was extremely clear and there were tons of underwater wildlife for us to see. We were literally swimming with the fishes. We even spotted turtles, barracudas, and other exotic fish I don't know the name of. We were actually taken to more than one spot to snorkel and were able to see more variety. After the amazing snorkeling experience we headed back to shore for lunch. We had the option of fish or tacos, and both were very, very delicious. Alex, our tour guide, was taking photos during the entire excursion and provided everyone with a free CD of photos at the end of the tour which is completely fantastic!! Tourist attractions usually charge an arm and a leg for photos.

We came here to visit the sea turtle sanctuary as part of our tour through Cancun adventures…read more The dive center itself is cute. They had bathrooms with showers as well as outdoor showers. I did not appreciate the requirement to wear a life jacket in shallow water to snorkel with the turtles. The amount of people in the snorkeling areas was way too much. People were kicking up sand, flailing in the water and pushing people (me) to get in front of where any turtles were. It was extremely disappointing. The only reasons I got any photos was because I have a GoPro on a stick. I would NOT do the turtle thing again. I would however go scuba diving. That seemed like they took out small groups on small boats so it wouldn't be overcrowded.

This is an efficiently-run dive operation, and also offers a lot of group snorkeling opportunities…read more We dove with ADS through Blue Experience Diving, and we were pleased with the facility and the dive sites offered. The boats are small, with room for 8 or 9 divers. Back roll entries are required, as these boats aren't large enough for a dive platform. The boat captains were very good and able to deal with both calm and rough water efficiently. They also helped carry gear when needed, and helped divers deal with gear as they got on and off the boats. I observed ADS dive staff working with student divers, and they seemed patient and thorough (I'm a dive instructor myself, so I can recognize when other dive pros are doing a good job). Safety was a high priority. Overall, a great experience and we were glad to have a chance to dive with Blue Experience Diving and the Akumal Dive Shop.
