There is also a convenience store next door if you should need any supplies during your adventure through laundry land.

(If you don't believe me, use one of the top loading machines that do not lock during the wash, let it fill with supposed 'hot' water, and stick your hand in it). I had resigned myself to believing that perhaps all laundromats in the city keep their water temperature low to save costs and continued to use this location - until today. I tried the other laundromat in the area and to my surprise, their hot water is ACTUALLY HOT. If you don't mind washing all your clothes in cold water then this place is fine - but I will be making the extra 1 block walk from now on. Enough leftover soap residue and not-so-clean-smelling clothes for me.

It's becoming untenable for ageing machines despite spending money to renovate their service area, and very bad service. It's the business' duty to guarantee the machines are working, and when they're not working, it's their job to believe clients and make it right, instead of telling paying clients they can choose to put more money in for broken machines. I avoid doing laundry here as much as possible. I also hate leaving reviews like this, even worse for places in The Market. It is rather small, but cozy. The Speed Queen machines seem to be solid. The smaller ones (without a name) stink inside, so we didn't use them. "Ultra wash" on a quad-load washer setting was rather pricey (8.75 CAD for 32 minutes), but the clothes seemed to be reasonably clean and without odor. I liked that there is an option to pay with a credit card, but the change machine is also there. The detergent vending machine is also functional, which was convenient since we forgot our supplies. The washroom door said "out of service", but it's OK since there are many affordable restaurants nearby. Speaking of restaurants, we grabbed great chicken wraps and milk shakes from a nearby place and they were very yummy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'd give this laundromat five stars if the floor was cleaner.

Two weeks worth of laundry usually takes me two triple loads and an hour of drying (30 minutes on two driers), so around $12 in total. The triple load machines take around 35 minutes (actual time varies a bit from machine to machine). Previous management was good, and the new one is great too (switch seems to have occurred sometime this summer). Laundromat hours are much longer now, there's WiFi (which an employee kindly told me about when he saw I was on my phone), and they play a nice selection of oldies. Also really like that it's run by a friendly and welcoming family.

I've grown to detest doing laundry for this very reason, and so until the day that I become lucky enough to own a washer/dryer I've had to become very intimate with the laundry services in my area. I tried a few different ones and grew to hate doing laundry even more, when one had no change machine; one had no decently working dryer, or attendants to talk to about it and I almost gave up and succumbed to hand washing in the bath tub when I discovered this Wash N Fold at Bloor and Shaw. It's nothing special from the outside but I learned young to never judge a book by its cover. To my happiness, I found a clean laundromat run by a very friendly couple who are extremely accommodating (as soon as you walk in they'll point out the best washers available) and apologetic (if they washers are all in use). There are 8 regular, 3 medium and 2 gigantic sized front-loading washers (yes I've been there enough times to know all these minor details) and about 20 dryers. There are also a few top loaders but I think they are on there way out soon. Each load on the regular sized washers are $2 (pretty standard) and they fit a lot of clothes and have instructions in English, French, and Spanish. One day, when I was reading and waiting for my clothes to dry I happened to listen in on a conversation between the laundromat attendant and a maintenance guy who was explaining that the washers were among the best industrial kinds on the market. If you put in too much soap, the machine is designed to add more water to help balance out the suds; so the ratio, no matter what is always perfect depending on the size of your laundry load. 'Who knew laundry machines were so high tech', thought the oblivious girl sitting to the right, pretending to read her book... This Wash 'n Fold is also great because they are never THAT busy and you usually have a quiet place to wait or enough space to fold your clothes. I often leave my stuff there and run some errands as the clothes are washing/drying and never have felt insecure about doing so. They also offer drop off services for those who can afford it or don't mind having strangers sift through your dirty drawers. (Side note: they were gloves so no worries there!) In all my years of experience in local laundromats this one is hands down the best!

It sounds like a basic concept, washers that work and wash your clothes, and dryers that actually dry your clothes, not to a ton of laundromat in Toronto sadly. They had a variety of different sized laundry machines and front loading machines. Not to mention that the price changes based on the level of soiling and heat of the water, which is much appreciated. A cold wash in a front loading machine? My wallet and Mother Earth thanks you. The dryers are some of the most reasonably priced dryers that actually work. In addition to effective washers and dryers, the owner clearly has put some love into the decor of the place, making me feel comfortable chilling out while waiting for my laundry to dry. This is as opposed to some of the much dirtier, never been cleaned before places around. While this place is a little further from me than many many other laundromat, I think the walk is worth it, not only am I satisfied with everything, I'd rather give my money to someone who appreciates their customers.

This happened with both a dryer and with a washing machine. Not only sucks to lose money but then the hassle of having to move all your laundry to another machine - especially as I was using powder detergent that night. Won't be going back.
