I was surprised to see that I had never checked in at this rest area before after have made this drive across I-10 numerous times. I do like that the big rig parking lot is in the from of the amenities with only a small island / curb between the car parking forcing the "four wheelers" to yield to the multi-wheeled vehicles to merge back on to the interstate. There is a large covered area that houses everything, restrooms, vending machines and sitting areas, of course there are a number of covered picnic tables scattered around the property too. The grounds are well maintained as are the restroom and public areas. There were several employees onsite who were very friendly amd providing information for anyone with questions. This is definitely a rest area that I'll remember when traveling through the area in the future...
