Super Deli is a West Seattle staple! I love that they have picnic tables outside with TVs that can play sports and playoffs during sports seasons. The Cheesy British is their classic sandwich that they are "known for" but every sandwich I have had here, including the Reuben, has been pretty amazing. Huge fan of the sandwiches here. They can make just about anything, delicious, fresh ingredients, and super fast service. Yes, it is a grocery store, but there is a very nice area with tables where you can sit and drink a draft beer while you wait for your food, to eat there or take with you. We got sandwiches to go and drinks while we waited, and I think they were both about the best sandwiches I've had in Washington. When I was growing up in Bellevue, our favorite place to grab late night subs was Hoagies Corner. Now, I discovered that my Cheesey British, French, and German subs are here. My childhood is now recognized in the small place that was probably a Hoagies Corner back in the day. These subs are great, or maybe they are just my good memories coming back, I am going with great flavors. There is quite a selection of unique beers and other assorted beverages. From the outside, it is just an older building that you would drive by and never give it a second thought. There is a good seating area inside and outside. The service is consistent and friendly. Do you remember Hoagie's Corner (A dilly of a deli)? They were around in the late 70's and early 80's. Popular late night snack place for my friends and me when I was in high school and college. Then in the mid-80's 7-Eleven bought them and converted them to 7-Elevens. A real tragedy. Anyway, this seems to be the one store that survived, with a new name. And still making the same sandwiches with the same recipes. If you were a fan back then, you must check them out. The Cheesy British is still the best. read more

This place gets a lot of hype for its sub sandwiches, but I wasn't really impressed. The bread just seems a little dense and heavy to me, and it didn't remind me at all of what I'd get in a deli in New Jersey or New York. It's basically a 7-11 with some beer taps and sandwiches. The folks are nice and there's a surprisingly large and fun draft beer selection. This place seems really popular with people in the neighborhood. We have a friend who lives nearby and says this place has a good crowd and is a good place to meet your neighbors. For us, it's not really worth a trip from West Seattle since we have lots of other options at our disposal, but it's not a bad spot. read more

It snowed in Seattle, which means almost everything is shut down. Luckily we were walking distance to Super Deli, and it being Valentine's Day, we at least wanted to "go out." So we put on our boots and walked. It was busy, and I have never ordered a sandwich here before, so I was a little new to how the ordering worked. The man at the register helped take my order and when I ordered a beer and a cider, he pointed to the sign and asked me to give him the numbers I wanted. I got the famous "Cheesy British" and a bag of chips, a cider, and a beer, all for less than $15. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. The sandwich was good and prepared quickly. And the table we had was clean. It would have been nice to see them clean off the tables more frequently, but it was busy (probably because they were one of the few places open). Being going here for 20 plus years. We have seen ownership come and go. This new owner and workers are not pleasant to deal with. Tonight the family and I went to eat there and we got 4 sandwiches, 1 British and 3 cheese Britishes with cheddar cheese and all 4 on hoagie rolls. The British had cheese on it and not even cheddar cheese it was old American cheese that breaks apart from being old. The hoagie rolls were stale. I asked the older male to fix my food cause the younger male was putting his hair up in a ponytail. Their comments back to me was they wear gloves. No food handle permits for either male posted. I wonder if they even have them. Very disappointed in the way the service and product of the food has gone. read more

Brother-in-law came in from Minnesota and announced he wanted to eat lunch here! It's very unassuming and seems to be a neighborhood favorite. It's like a tiny Target/liquor store/wicked good sandwich shop. There are a few tables inside. The menu is simple. We had two Californias, a roast beef and two cheese. These sandwiches are very good, old school...wrapped up white paper. Highly recommend. And if we are back in this area, we will be back for lunch. read more

Talk about a total hidden gem! Super Deli & Grocery is the epitome of convenient. In this one small store you'll find a great wine selection, a rotating tap of local and sometimes even rare brews (with growler refills! Yes... you can drink IN this store!) a wide variety of cigars, and even awesome made to order deli sandwiches. Although ownership has changed throughout the years, the current owner proudly carries on the tradition of making great sandwiches and providing excellent customer service. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable here. It's almost intimidating to shop because it's obvious each time I come that every other customer is a regular. Once while ordering up the cheesy British sub I made small talk with a regular who'd been coming for the sandwiches since the 80s! This will definitely be the only place I'll be visiting for keg rentals. I won't forget to try a new sandwich each and every time I go back! read more

To echo others..... who knew!? I pass this place all the time but I never knew it was so beer-centric til some fellow Yelpers told me so. I stopped in to check it out.... It still has that seedy convenience store feel but hell, they've got a bunch of decent beer, wine and cigars! However, a lot of the beer is sitting out instead of being stocked in the cooler so it makes me wonder about the freshness of stuff like IPAs..... still though, they've got two beer taps and you can have a pint while you hang out and shop. But, when it's busy, there's a complete vibe of anger and stress as the manager dude turns into an overwhelmed human being, not well equiped to cope. If you read the other reviews here, you'll see it's a pretty common occurence. Sandwiches are great, especially if you were a patron of the Hoagie's Corner stores of the late 80's and early 90's. Cheesey British can be found here! Talk about a cigar collection, all around the place you'll find some of the best known cigars from around the world. I mostly go here for the beer. They have an amazing selection for what they are - a convenience store. Really!!! There are about 6 taps, and you can stay and drink a pint (around $3 a pint) or get a growler to go (around $10). Their prices are very, very reasonable. There is also a small sandwich making area. I hear the sandwiches are good, and the menu looks normal, with a few twists. I'd like to try a sandwich soon. They have the normal convenience store items, plus a small tobacco area and a fair wine selection. It's worth going to check out - if only to say you've had a beer in a gas station! read more

I've been a long time customer, over 10 years. But I'm not returning again based on my last two experiences. I recently invited four of my workmates for a beer and a sandwich. One of my guest asked to use the restroom and was denied. It was obvious this was a friend of mine. Only after we purchased the sandwich and growler did they allow him to use the restroom. Today I invited two more friends. I was going to order a growler but the clerk denied me samples. I explained that I was going to buy a growler and two friends were going to order sandwiches. Pretty awesome place. I visited this place for the first time this morning after being informed that they still had a couple of beer bottles I was looking for. They had a great bottle selection of beer and wine. They also had about.. 6 or 7? beers on tap as well (one of the taps being Boneyard!) Owners weren't super friendly but it was fine.
