Do yourself a favour and stay away from this Company. Besides the terrible communication, Derek finally turned up to replace the glass in my window which is on the ground floor. However after removing the window and saying he would be back the next day to fit it in, he did not show. I texted him but there was no answer. I tried again the next day to see if he was coming, again with no answer - I could see that he was getting my texts because of the read receipts. I called and called and called and called and called. Until I finally got a text message that he was dealing with a family issue. Why he couldn't have told me that two days ago I don't know. Finally he turned up 4 days late with the window. He got incredibly rude and threatening with me - I thought he was going to attack me. He then immediately took my window into his van an drove off with it! He now has my window! Such a strange experience. Very unprofessional. I'm not sure what to do as I have an urgent need to put the window back in because it is on the ground floor and it is a security issue. read more

Derek Bell and his crew did not complete our job. They took our money and left us with broken, leaking skylights. We are currently in the middle of a lawsuit to try to recoup our losses. Our experience with the company was one unfortunate event after another. His crew didn't show up to our site for weeks at a time, delaying our construction timeline by several months. When we sent him photos of the wood and water damage occurring after his crew left the work half done, and uncovered from the elements, we got an anonymous complaint to WorkSafeBC about our scaffolding (it had never been mentioned by Derek before). The issue was addressed the following day and Super Glass continued to no-show for weeks. Finally Derek said he'd come back if we paid another $5k so we reluctantly cut him a cheque as we were desperate to get the completion schedule back on track, and he never returned. After following up countless times by phone with no response, we went to his location and he told us to contact his lawyer but then refused to provide his lawyer's contact details. We had to take the long painful route of letting the courts settle it. I can't stress enough the headache and unprofessional service we received with Super Glass. We ultimately ended up going with Four Seasons Skylights. The entire experience has been night and day. Four Seasons did a beautiful job and saved us from our nightmare experience with Super Glass. read more

Stay away from the business. The owner took my deposit for a custom cut piece of glass and never supplied it. After 3 week of trying to contact him with no reply I finally drove over to the store. There was a sign on the door saying "By Appointment Only". I saw someone in the back of the store so I banged on the door a couple of times. He eventually opened the door. When I said I wanted my deposit back he initially said he never collected the e-transfer. This was untrue. He went to the back of the store again and gave me my deposit back in cash. We called Super Glass and spoke to Daniel about our glass shower door handle which was coming loose. He was extremely patient and helpful in diagnosing what our problem was and more importantly the simple solution which was finding the right screw to fit the handle. We tried to find it at Home Depot without success. After sending him some pictures of the shower handle. he emailed me and said he had the proper screw and for me to come to pick it up. We really appreciated how professional and helpful he was especially when it was not a job or purchase I needed. Great Service which is really hard to get today!!!! Wow. This company is terrible at communication, which makes me think that other aspects of their jobs aren't completed well either. Over a span of a month, I had to continually check in with this company to see when they would be coming in the fulfill the work that I requested (weather stripping resealed for our windows). They initially quoted me quickly, and the price was decent. That's where the fun and games started. Derek, the guy who provided me the quote, said that he was booking jobs a week out. I attempted to schedule something with him, no response. Another follow-up email two weeks or so later, no response, despite all of our previous communication being over email. Called in, and someone called him to call us back, no response. Finally, I got a called and got a hold of Derek, who said he would call me back to schedule an appointment when he returned to the office that very same day. No call. I am not going to babysit you so that I can give you my business. I understand that glass companies are in high demand at the moment, but doesn't excuse this poor customer service. STAY AWAY!!! Derek's (owner) crew replaced a large panel of glass in our home. It cracked within weeks of the install. Derek strung us along for 6 months stating he would fix the problem....He is not short on excuses. Eventually he would not respond to emails, voice messages, calls and texts. We are out $1000 and he has our money. Derek just declined to fix the broken glass and stated we would have to take him to court. Our experience is echoed over and over on yelp and google reviews. I was nervous to use this company after reading these reviews, but I have to say, my experience was nothing short of amazing. I went in for window screen wickets as mine were yellowed, broken and gross. Super Glass was the only local company I could find that carried wickets (not even the Home Depot has them). What are wickets? The piece of plastic built into the screen that you have to lift up in order to access the handle to the window. I was going to do all the work myself as I had been ghosted by the window company who made the windows of my house. They said they would remake the screens for me, came to measure and then would not answer my calls about actually giving me a quote, never mind actually getting them made. So I went in bright and early, was greeted promptly and told them what I wanted. They said sure, and did I want them to put to the mesh screen on for me? Sure! Saved me the trouble, even though I had watched YouTube videos on how to do it. They gave me a quote (very reasonable) and I went about my day. I hadn't even made it home before I got a call to say that all 10 wickets were screened and ready for me. I was pleasantly shocked! Went home, book the old wickets out of the screens and replaced myself within 2 hours. The screens look good as new. So based on this positive experience, I measured the window in my house that did not have a screen at all, because while I was there, I found out that they also make custom screens. Remember, I was ghosted by a big window company who couldn't be bothered to make them for me. I called back with measurements. Guess what. That screen was ready for me the NEXT day. It fits beautifully. The price was also really reasonable. I was told I just got lucky with the speed and turn around time of my jobs because they happened to have staff around to do them when I ordered, but still, unlike the big window company, they wanted the work and were willing to do the jobs. While I can't speak to their glass work (which seems to be what everybody else is complaining about), for window screens and parts, these guys will actually do the work or have the parts, and charge a reasonable fee. A frustration-free experience. I am going back to get more wickets replaced and two other windows screens. read more

WITHOUT PREJUDICE Derek came to my place to measure my new dining room table which I wanted to protect with glass, so that we could sit down and have meals and do things on it without damaging the beautiful wood and carvings. He was extremely polite, did what looked like a great job of sketching, outlining, whatever it's called. Was smooth as butter and had a great sense of humour. Derek came back with what I considered a decent quote, a very reasonable completion date (4 to 5 weeks), and a request for a $300.00 deposit, which I was glad to give him. After 5 weeks, I called the office and left a message for Derek. No call back. Phoned and left dozens of messages over the following months. Derek did call back twice, both times with an excuse that the supplier hadn't come through. More messages from me. Heard back from Derek the third and final time, telling me it was being delivered to him. Never ever heard back. Bottom line: DEREK STOLE MY MONEY AND I HAVE THE PAPERWORK TO PROVE IT. read more

Had an afternoon job started in May that wasn't finished, mostly because the owner didn't take proper measurements. This was after It took three unreturned calls before we could set a date. Had a few times where I was told it would happen next week and never did. Other than that it's been over three months of a lot of unreturned calls, text messages and an ignored complaint with the Better Business Bureau. No apologies, just a flippant attitude and a "Oh, we've been busy with other things". He didn't even care when I said I wasn't giving him my business. OK, at the risk of wasting more time: I had a couple of glass tables made some years ago, which you still have a record of on your computer. I drove to the shop and spoke to a young lady about a month ago, described the table I was looking to have made, like the previous one. I left a phone number and she assured me that I would get a call back. A couple of weeks later, after no call, I made 2nd trip, talked again to her, explained everything, and she assured me that I would get a call back. As we were talking, you walked in and we talked, drew a diagram, again, and you assured me that you would get back to me.... No call Last week, I stopped in, for the 3rd time ( I live downtown, not nearby) and another woman was there, perhaps your wife...and I again explained my request for a quote...She spoke to you on the phone, you were in the suburbs somewhere dealing with a leaking skylight, as it had been raining hard the days before. I again explained my request. She assured me that when you returned shortly, you would call. No call back. I have decided that rather than bother you further I will look elsewhere. I am sorry, because this was a small job, and probably not worth your while. However, I also mentioned that in my new townhouse, I wanted to have sliding glass doors installed to enclose a loft-like sleeping area and I think this would have been a good job for you. The fact that you have to ask me what it is that I am looking for after three visits to your store suggests that your organisation and follow-through leaves something to be desired. These guys installed a new frameless glass shower door for me. Everything looked fine at first but after removing all the tape used to stabilize the glass, I discovered chips on the edges of the door and adjacent panel. Derek said he would take care of it. But after over a year of chasing him to honour the promise to take care of it all I got was excuses. He doesn't return my messages. He has made zero effort to make arrangements to fix the problem. We were impressed by the prices and product, but their customer service and follow up is pathetic, rude and indifferent. They do not return phone calls, arrive riduculously late for appointments, and verge on rude when speaking to them on the phone. The women who answer the phone try their best, but Derrik is beyond useless. I now own a defective mirror that cost a fortune, and they will not even come by to have a look. I had to lower my review rating based on communication, which is a huge thing with me, for a recent project that was done on Trafalgar Street. I asked at least 4 times for an update on whether they delivered and came to the tenant for window installation, however, never heard back. A let a few days lapse between emails as I understand that they may have been during a busy period. It wasn't until I called in for an update that I finally got one, an important update about re-ordering. These guys went from a 4 to a 1 really fast. I felt as though my time was wasted chasing these guys for a simple update on a project. At this point I just want the job completed as we paid for. If they cannot communicate with me efficiently, especially if something has to be re-ordered and there is a delay in the job than clearly they're too busy for customer service and I need to work with someone who cares enough about their customers and relaying important information in order for me to foster a positive relationship for future projects. read more

Great people very helpful, fair prices right in Kits and open Sat. They worked with us to find some hard to obtain sliding glass door parts instead of a costly full-scale replacement or in home service call. Also went to them for some window glass, they were patient with us finding the right glass and did not pressure us when it came to using their installer versus DIY. read more

Ordered a piece of glass for table, was told to come back 4 times to pick it up and each time there was some lame excuse as to why it was not ready. Guy in shop seemed really disinterested and uncaring. Never did get the glass nor an apology. Lame. Try somewhere else first. read more

I used them years ago and was pleased so I returned again. This time it was nothing but an aggravating and disappointing experience. It took several calls to get an appointment and then Derek was a no show with no notification. Then the glass was delivered with no notice to check if I was home or if it was a good time. Upon installation it was very obvious the glass was not measured properly by Derek as it did not align on the corners or edges. I contacted the company several times and Derek said a new replacement was being ordered (though new measurements were not taken). Weeks passed so I phoned again and spoke to Derek who said the replacement was ready and he would schedule delivery. I called again to express my frustration a few weeks later and noted to the receptionist I did not want the replacement anymore as I was tired of dealing with this and would not pay the remaining balance. I also requested a small refund on a deposit made for a different service that was not even done and was told Derek would call. He did not. Called again a few weeks later to again request a refund and again was told Derek would call. Of course, he did not call. Seriously!!!! What a joke of a company to deal with. read more
