The price was very fair and Tim worked with me to make sure I could take care of a maintenance item without having to cover that cost after the purchase. This was my first actual pawn shop purchase and I really appreciated Tim's professionalism, friendliness and effort to make a fair sale. Took it to another jeweler to have it tested, and parts of it stuck to a magnet -- a clear sign it's not real gold, since genuine gold isn't magnetic. When I went back to raise the issue, instead of addressing it, they told me not to come back. Getting misrepresented metal purity twice from the same store is one thing, but being told not to return after catching it is what really says it all. Be careful buying "18k" or "14k" pieces here -- get everything independently tested before you leave the store.

I only needed $75 but why take the chance. I had pawned a few things at this place before and *always redeemed them. ie, I always go back and get my stuff and it works ok for what it is. I get some money up front, they make a nice profit at the end. I've done it enough times over the years I can tell the man behind the counter recognizes me (it's always the same guy). Not suggesting we know each other's names, but I'm a good, repeat customer let's say Long story long he says he can do $30. No missing a zero. Thirty dollars for a $700+ necklace. I get that it isnt brand new (maybe 3 yrs old) and that gold prices rise and fall or whatever but to lowball like that, even if I was some jerk (which I'm not) I dont like the idea that someone I'm taking my business to would do such a thing to such an outrageous degree just because they think they can. They were open about their process for evaluation, and even discussed possible pricing for some additional future sales I am considering. I could not recommend this establishment, and its proprietors, more strongly. Just excellent. One more thing: I found that this is a generationally family-owned business, of which there are exceedingly fewer and fewer these days. Supporting them, as opposed to their franchised competitors (one of which is mere feet away in the same shopping mall), is important. Bought a Samsung 75 inch tv from this store and was told it was brand new and taken out of the box…read moreto display it. They told me they watched some football on it since they took it out of the box. The protective film was still on the screen and they hooked it up so I could see it working. It was very bright in the pawn shop and hard to see the screen. I bought the tv and when I got home I hooked up the tv and I could see that all the display settings were maxed out and I reset the tv to the default setting and on the bottom left of the screen there was several dark spots on the screen. I contacted Samsung and they said the dark spots on the screen were damaged led's do to settings all the picture settings to their maximum. I will never trust this pawn shop again telling me this tv was brand new. I have called them and they will not help me at all.
