I contracted with Super Shooters to remove all acoustic ceilings (AKA "popcorn" ceilings) from a 1300 square foot condo that had been built in 1973. The ceiling material contained asbestos. I wanted all of the acoustic ceiling removed and the ceiling texturized so it was ready to paint. Super Shooters gave me a very reasonable estimate to paint it but I had already engaged the services of a painter to paint the entire interior of the house. From the initial inquiry to the end of the job, they were friendly and professional. I never actually met any of them. I did the contract via telephone and then email. The crew arrived on time on the scheduled workday. My wife met them at our place and gave them a key. The Super Shooters team came and went for 3 days while they were doing the job. My wife met them at the condo on the third day and inspected the place, got our key, and wrote a check. All of it was as easy as it can get...except writing the check (but it was a fair price for sure considering what was involved)! Now that we have the "new" ceilings painted, they look just like the walls. Unless I told you that there had been a "popcorn" ceiling removed, you would never know. The work was that good. I am a super happy customer. The Super Shooters crew did an excellent job and the entire process was a lot easier than I had imagined. I highly, highly recommend Super Shooters. Note: My condo was mostly empty of furniture and nobody was occupying it when this work was done. Removing ceilings that contain asbestos is a major undertaking. I'm renovating a house in Sacramento that was built in 1974; like a lot of other houses built during that time, it had acoustical (popcorn) ceilings made with asbestos (lab tested). This particular home is likely a good house for a first time home buyer, so I decided to have the as best as removed. I obtained 5 bids for asbestos removal. In comparing the 5 bids, Super Shooters offered the best value for the money and offered a one stop shop to refinish the ceiling with texture, patch and paint for the same price (and for less in 2 cases) than the competition was offering for just the asbestos removal. It was optional to have Super Shooters repair / freshen up all of the walls by patching and re-texturing. I opted for this because asbestos is removed with water in order to contain it. The work was done well. Of the 9 people who came into my house 2 were wearing masks. We scheduled the work for 3 days. In the end they came back on 7 different occasions. They had zero communication with me or with each other, unless I called them to sort things out. The sheetrock guy wasn't told it was a 2 story and showed up without a crew. The tape and mud guy wasn't told he'd need corners. The texture guy messed up a wall and said someone would come fix it tomorrow but nobody ever showed. The person at main office was zero help, she never had any idea when someone was scheduled to work or exactly what was the plan. When I called Keith to find out why he had no idea there was a problem, and said he'd call back in a minute... Hours later, still no call. He was clearly really busy with other jobs so I would get 9:30PM calls and texts after waiting a day for a response a couple. We had our popcorn ceilings removed last week. I will start with the positive, the staff was very pleasant to work with. The owner is a funny and nice man who I thought I could trust, he told me "you won't be able to tell we've been here when we are done, aside from brand new ceilings", this was the farthest thing from the truth. Our ceilings look great, however our walls now have water stains all over, and so much of our paint was ripped off at the top from their tape (and in the middle of our walls in some spots, see photo). Our whole house has to be repainted and he kept mentioning how our paint needed to be re-done anyway when confronted about the situation. He ended up taking money off from what we owed him. But not nearly enough, we are spending close to $3000 to fix their damage. See pictures!!!! Don't use them Unless you're planning on repainting your entire house. read more

Keith and the Super Shooters are the best home professionals we've worked with since moving into our new home a few months ago. The project was removal of popcorn ceiling (no asbestos remediation needed, thankfully) and retexturing of ceiling throughout the house. He demonstrated excellent customer service from start to finish. Every text or phone call, if not immediately answered, was promptly returned. He was flexible and amenable to our questions and requests. He gave great advice on the selection of texture type for the ceiling. When we asked to do the painting ourselves to save money, he didn't balk, but instead gave us a realistic assessment of the difficulty of the project, and instructions on how to be successful. They helped us prep for the painting by leaving the dropcloths in place and the light fixtures/vents off the ceiling, but then returned to replace the fixtures when we found ourselves unable to figure out how to do it. His staff showed up on the right day and time and finished the job on time and on budget. The wall-ceiling junction is definitely imperfect (chipping of drywall) but I think that's unavoidable with popcorn ceiling removal, and we plan to cover it with crown moulding. They accepted payment only after they were finished and we had done a walk-through to review the work. I only wish that they could do all our home remodeling projects! read more

New House, New Baby, New Ceilings! No more popcorn! We have a new one on the way at the end of November and we were so worried about having the ceilings and house done in time to be ready for her. We were originally quoted for beginning of November (this was around the first of October), Frank called us the next week and told us they could be in the following week and they were done in four days! The attached photo was my job plus one more 4 inch hole left from a light fixture. I called Super Shooters because I used them once before. They did a good job and the price seemed ok. For this small patch job Keith wanted $450 and I was told it would take half a day. When I objected to the price, Keith shared with me that he pays $1,000 a day in insurance. I didn't choose him to do this job, called a guy that came recommended thru the nextdoor app in our neighborhood. After a short phone conversation he told me he could do it for his minimum charge of $150. Job was finished today, looks great and took 90 minutes over two days. My fiancé and I wanted the popcorn ceiling removed before we moved into our new home. We also needed some texturing on some walls, since there was old wallpaper. They did an amazing job. My only complaint is that at the end of the day, they left energy drink cans and fountain soda cups all over the house. He even tried to call, with no returned phone call. So he got there at 7:30am and Super Shooters showed at around 9:00am, which is fine.
