Most sales staff now are sort of surly and ill-tempered and don't seem to know their jobs very well. For example, it took me three visits to get help with a specific supplement they usually carry, and one sales staff person never asked for my customer rewards number. When I asked him if I could give it to him after he rang me up he said no. I left the store without my item. They also seem to have stopped carrying many items I used to purchase there. I'm going to start ordering what I need online. It's too bad because I really wanted to support my local store.

After the female employee rang me up I started walking out the door and looked on receipt and found that she did not take half off the rx bar. I politely told her what happened. Her response? "I don't memorize all the bars" in a snarky tone. What the heck? She then walked over to the rx bars and pointed to the sign and said "it isn't for individual bars it is for the whole box". Nowhere did the sign say that but whatever- I am not going to argue over a dollar. I hate confusing and deceitful sale tags like that but whatevs. What made me most concerned? The employee who made the rude comment is a manager (I saw her name tag but I'm not going to call her out by name here). If the manager talks like this to customers, what are the other employees doing? How about, "I'm sorry, let me take a look at that for you"? She was rude and there are PLENTY of places to buy my protein powder and health needs without the crappy attitude.

I haven't had health insurance since I was in high school, so when I am so sick with the flu that I am inadvertently crop dusting my section and throwing up behind the bar, I count on these little Mom and Pop places. The man that works there is extremely knowledgeable. He practically diagnosed me within minutes of conversation and gave me several options or routes I could take, based on how involved I wanted to be with treatment and how much I wanted to spend. I went there today and the experience was enlightening. It was the same guy, and he was very certain about what could be wrong with me. He gave me some options and commended me on my initial battle plan to attack my bout with bubble guts (I think I ate some undercooked sausage). He seems very sincere about everyone's health, all you gotta do is walk in. On a quick note, it is from my understanding that if someone is not a MD, they cannot "diagnose" "treat" or "prescribe" anything, which is why you will get "suggestions" So if this doesn't sound good to you, I suggest spending your day (and money) being climbed on by a family of 8 in the waiting room at the walk-clinic.

I normally love this place- always consistent, always delicious..... except for today…read more I ordered an açaí bowl and three smoothies- things that I have ordered many times and always tastes the same until today. One smoothie was mainly ice and had big chunks of ice in it, the other two smoothies and the açaí bowl were very watery, the açaí bowl also didn't have the vegan powder on top that I paid for. They all tasted really badly. I called to see if there was something they could do. The girl confirmed that all of our items were made by our newest person but wouldn't taste any different. I told her that I've ordered these many many times and they've always tasted the same but they do not taste good. She said I could call the manager tomorrow and said there was nothing she could do today. Didn't offer to even remake the items they messed up on, or give a refund. No options whatsoever. I didn't want a review to have to be left for this to be taken care of, but clearly that's the case. Hoping they train their new employees better so this doesn't continue to happen.

For me, there is no other brie. One time I was at the Cheese Board Collective in Berkeley to find a blue cheese from Asturias when I saw the Brillat Savarin and insisted my mom get it for a party. She asked why the big deal and I said that it's the closest thing a cheese can get to butter. The cheesemonger standing in front of us looked up from his cheese sorting, looked us with crazy eyes and whispered, "No. It IS butter." He then stopped what he was doing to spread out a runny dab for her on a cracker and my mom saw the light. We were so excited about finally finding this cheese when other people heard my sister singing its' praises and they wanted it. There was only one wedge left, so my sister gracefully let another man have it. I mean, how else do you spread the gospel and make converts until other people have had their own spiritual experience. So we'll be back again with the hope that they restock.
