He was rude and obnoxious and although he accepts his dry cleaner ruined my expensive French quilt (turning it grey from yellow), he takes no responsibility on the basis that his dry cleaner has 35 years experience. Apparently it didn't have a care label, so the dry cleaner washed it instead of dry cleaning it. My docket says "total dry clean". The dry cleaner did not discuss this alternative process with me, but simply elected NOT to dry clean it. I am aware from speaking to staff that Paul checked their CCTV and accepts it was yellow - Paul accepted that but says he just did that because he "wanted to". He told me he'd see me in the tribunal. I'm devastated and disgusted. I have not received an apology much less compensation. Maria Konings

First time spraying lasted a good length of time, second time was a young lad who didn't seem very experienced, then recently Daniel came and did a whole house ant spray - inside, outside, under-house etc - which made a HUGE difference!! A couple of months later I had a very small resurgence of ants in one spot, called Bug King and Daniel came around promptly. He inspected the problem, sprayed some of the areas again, explained to me that some of the grouting had been eaten away by ants and that was one of the places they were getting in, so I will repair that and hope for no more. He also sprayed a wasp nest on the front fence as he left. Thanks Daniel - your knowledge of Bugs is second to none and thanks for taking time to explain the problems. (all done under warranty so no charge)!

Pretty basic stuff, but they are reliable and friendly! The only thing is if you are having pant legs taken up then measure them first! Silly me didn't properly measure my trousers and hem them before I took them in, I estimated whilst in the store and not surprisingly they are still too long. Stupid me! NZ Drycleaners are located really close to Countdown in Lynmall, so they are easy to find and their is always a park close by.

That being said, when I came here last week I was shocked by how expensive it was. $75 for a blazer and two dresses - you have gotta be kidding me?! I'm not sure if the prices increased dramatically whilst I was overseas or if I just never paid enough attention. Either way, surely this is not the going rate in NZ? Because if it is, bring on the handwashing!

This is another of my local "dollar" stores and it's a goodie. Sharing the space with the Lotto…read moreshop is mainly gift and household items with this being my choice for $3 and $4 sunglasses. They always have the latest shapes and colours and they are UV certified. I also buy a lot of picnicware here - you can set yourself up with plastic platters, plates and cups really cheaply and apart from the cutlery I re-use everything so it's not too hard on the planet. The greeting cards here are good too - just read your message carefully first, there might be a hilarious but inappropriate typo! Like most of the businesses I frequent around Balmoral, the family that run this place are lovely. I feel sorry for them being right next to Jack's Bar and the TAB (two reviews you will NOT read from me) but they seem to cope ok.
