I'm glad I finally remembered! There is no receptionist, but you'll be greeted when you walk in by whoever is there. You can tell as you watch the stylists and the clients that pretty much everyone knows everyone and they're all regulars and it feels very warm and inviting. It's just a small place but it's very nicely decorated--not your typical "strip mall" type of hair salon for sure. I always wait until just about the last minute for my appointments (meaning I decide "Oh crap, I'd really like to get my hair cut tomorrow!") and Karla was able to get me in no problem...plus she was super nice and sweet. She was very attentive to what I wanted and had some suggestions. The cut was great and she was able to straighten it just fine (you hear that, stylist at http://www.yelp.com/biz/transformations-salon-jacksonville#hrid:4SMg-Xv4Z6IYWI5SzSPPxw). The only thing that's a little strange is that you pay your stylist directly, and at that moment, Karla didn't take credit cards (I can't vouch for the others). She did mention she had a cell app to take CC payments but it wasn't working at the moment, but promised she would work on it for my next appointment. But to their credit, she did take a check so at least I wasn't worried about trying to drum up some cash. (Though, if I had no form of payment on me, it feels the type of place that would likely have no problem of you coming back later to pay.) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Most salons have strict cancellation policies for clients, but this salon seems fine canceling or pushing appointments less than an hour before. Overall, the scheduling needs serious improvement. I have since moved even further into Richlands and farther away from Jacksonville, and STILL find myself coming to this barbershop. These ladies are absolutely fantastic at what they do. They listen, they talk to you, they're professional in their conduct, and the shop is always clean and always organized. In my opinion, there's no better place to get a haircut than here while in Jacksonville.
