My friend and I were very excited to try this place out because it looked so cute and had great reviews. We were both getting our hair colored and cut. The first two and a half hours were enjoyable, we all were laughing and joking, having a good time. Where it all went downhill was when Jessica turned my friend facing me and all I could see was a half inch of red hair dye stained all around her forehead. I asked if that was normal with what I am sure was a terrified look on my face. Both Jessica and my stylist, Margo, tried to blow it off and tell me and my friend that was normal and she could just "go home and use make-up remover". I should have spoken up more but was still in the process of getting my hair done. Margo did a great job with my color (but I found a color stain on one side of my head too-not near as bad as my friends) but my hair was not straightened well at all and I had to have her even it out in the front. I stayed pleasant and professional up until the point that they tried to hand me business cards for the next visit (my friend had already left) and I politely said that I did not agree with what the stain on my friend's head and how they reacted to it. That's when my friend came back in and showed them how bad it was. It took us pretty much arguing with them about it not being ok that my stylist, Margo, finally took out some wipes and tried to remove some of the stain. After speaking briefly to the owner about my friend's unhappy experience, we left. Shortly after we left Jessica called my friend and stated that it is "normal practice" for her to "leave an even line of dye on a forehead to avoid being completely obnoxious". What should have been a fun, enjoyable girls' day ended up a frustrating experience. We will never recommend or return to this business. I honestly feel the good reviews must have been from family because it seemed as not only the owner and employees but customers too-were all related or childhood friends. I'm glad I finally remembered! There is no receptionist, but you'll be greeted when you walk in by whoever is there. You can tell as you watch the stylists and the clients that pretty much everyone knows everyone and they're all regulars and it feels very warm and inviting. It's just a small place but it's very nicely decorated--not your typical "strip mall" type of hair salon for sure. I always wait until just about the last minute for my appointments (meaning I decide "Oh crap, I'd really like to get my hair cut tomorrow!") and Karla was able to get me in no problem...plus she was super nice and sweet. She was very attentive to what I wanted and had some suggestions. The only thing that's a little strange is that you pay your stylist directly, and at that moment, Karla didn't take credit cards (I can't vouch for the others). She did mention she had a cell app to take CC payments but it wasn't working at the moment, but promised she would work on it for my next appointment. But to their credit, she did take a check so at least I wasn't worried about trying to drum up some cash. (Though, if I had no form of payment on me, it feels the type of place that would likely have no problem of you coming back later to pay.) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

She got me checked in and I waited three minutes for Alex. She cuts good hair! Bangs are banging and my hair feels great. During my cut, three other girls were taking down Christmas decorations and sweeping and mopping. Music is nice. Smiles all around, for the most part. It's not an over the top friendly place (no hugs or fake conversations) but it's not cold or depressing or uncomfortable. Just the way I like it. I'll be back in two weeks for a bang trim. Thanks !

I held this establishment in high regard and trusted them completely. Unfortunately, today that relationship was entirely broken.Due to an unforeseen emergency, I was running 14 minutes behind. I called while on my way to give them a heads-up. Despite my years of loyalty, I was rigidly told that because of a 10-minute late policy, I would be turned away because they were slammed for the 4th of July holiday. I even offered to skip my blow-dry to make up for the 4 minutes, but was told my stylist Grace was already overbooked.I was literally moments from pulling into the parking lot, begging to be seen, and was still turned away. Turning away a client who frequents your business every three weeks over a matter of four minutes--especially when a compromise was offered--shows a complete lack of integrity and customer appreciation. It is tasteful business practice to value relationships over rigid booking windows. Because my loyalty was not acknowledged, I have canceled all of my upcoming appointments for the next several months and will not be returning.

My scalp was going through a flare at the time due to stress and poor dieting. --- Back to the post. Teresa from Ride or Die Salon asked for my business. We messaged and I looked over her prices and her competitors prices (from the post). She was the only one to offer Cut and Shampoo for $25 per her website However in messenger she threw out Cut Wash & Style for $45 *we are tight on medical bills and my kid is fighting for his life* so I go with the $25 option The appointment was made (by me). She tried to change it for earlier but I couldnt. I arrive. She was in the worst attire. Very unprofessional like she just rolled out of bed. I thought maybe she was sick... so I discarded it. She instantly starts upselling me. On hair masks and trying to correct my habits that can cause my flares by suggesting I buy the shampoo shes going to use on me. (I feel awful and already so self conscious about my scalp) She goes to wash my hair and cut. She then tells me she has to dry my hair to see how the cut will land. (I trimmed maybe an inch) She reminds me she will NOT style because im only paying for the cut & shampoo. (Okkkkkay make it awkward and pressuring) The blow drys my hair (w/o any products) just a spray to make it dry faster. My hair is half dry / mostly frizzy and damp. She keeps bugging me about my flare and how this shampoo will change my scalp and how the mask will lock in the moisture I need. Im about to leave. And I have so much anxiety just thinking about this experience. I asked her what the product prices are.... Bc she's the expert and I should trust her... right? So gives me a large sum (well over $100) for all with a free hair net for the mask. I said, nooo thats a bit much maybe I'll just take the Shampoo. She rings me up. And asks what tip % I want to leave (anxiety just gets higher) I automatically tip 20% on everything after COVID so I said, 20%. She said great. Receipt can be emailed or texted. Then she asks me to take her card so I can "swing by" and pick up the hair mask.. and how she's willing to meet me in town too! She could probably sense how upset I was with my hair and suggested I can come back after I style it & get a free touch up or cut if needed. Heres what pissed me off even MORE. I went home and looked at my receipt. She charged me $84 freaking DOLLARS! I cried. I dont have a job and im spending all my money on gas & dollar menus to see my kid an hour away And I paid $84 for a service that was supposed to be around $25. She charged me EXTRA for length (never mentioned it and its not on her website) Then she did 20% tip from SERVICE + EXTRAS + PRODUCT I was furious. A few days later I found a great hairdresser down to road & I love her. Been seeing her since. I am SAD I wasted my time and money with Teresa.. like just be upfront and don't try to shake me for every cent. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE, I DIDNT HAVE IT FOR AN $84 haircut.
