This is only my second time at Ulta and it's gorgeous .. I came for some cream I wanted but ran into an amazing gentleman named Michael that works there..he's so kind and took time to go over skin care with me.. that man had flawless skin so I wanted some secrets.. lol.. the entire staff is nice, helpful and always kind when I go in..prices are little high with some stuff but they have amazing sales! I had a wonderful shopping experience at this location. The staff was pleasant and offered exceptional customer service. The store was stocked neat and clean. I purchased items from Good Molecules and Sol Sanjaniero. They also have a stylist at the blow bar. I saw a natural hair client being styled during my visit. Michael is hands down the absolute best!!! First of all we asked a lady for help she said "oh I'm $30" but he can do it. Well we loved him and wouldn't ever ask her for help! We left her card sitting there lol!!! Ok Michael did a beautiful job on my daughter's makeup! He explained everything to her! He went in depth. Tried other shades and showed her techniques! Ahhhh worst experience ever this is my first yelp review and I'm going to be a big Karen about it The girl who works at the brow bar was the worst First of all, I'll take partial blame for coming here in the first place But I'm new here and I desperately need someone to do my brows This girl took over 30 minutes to do my eyebrows and yet she didn't even thread anything. She plugged majority of it and gave me the ugliest eyebrow shape. I know eyebrows are supposed to be sisters, not identical twins but damn she messed me up it's been a month and I still look like this emojis eyebrows - And when I said something about it, she said and I quote "I don't usually thread" but yet I gave her the option to either thread or wax whatever she felt more comfortable with And before she gave me the mirror to look at my brows, she was like "I can. I can fix what you need me to fix. I don't know. I just like I'm usually very good it's just isn't my day" I should of at least gotten a discount if she knew she messed me up but I didn't either way I pay in full and they still asked for a tip and I was like oh heck no my tip is gonna be this review !! If I could leave ZERO for customer service I would! I had a hair appointment May 8th at 115pm. I had a special event right after. At 1226pm I get a text saying my appointment has been canceled. No explanation no nothing! I called and she said oh she's sick. No apologies just told I'd have to book a new appointment and they were all booked! She didn't know til FORTY MINUTES BEFORE my appointment she was sick? I'll never use your service again. I was left scrambling to save my special day! read more

After visiting the Jacksonville Ulta location this past Sunday afternoon, I will not be returning in the future. The visit started normal, a normal neutral greeting of "Welcome to Ulta" came from the girl behind the counter as I walked through the double doors. All I wanted to do was look around and not be bothered to be honest. I smiled and said, "Thank you" but she was already doing something else by the time I responded. I was looking at the sale displays of new items lining the front entrance in the classic half-moon shape. Out of the clinique section comes a male employee with make-up better than mine (or lack their of because I didn't feel the need to wear any that day.) He greeted me half-heartedly. For some reason, his lack of enthusiasm made me feel uncomfortable and intimidated and honestly...judged. I am currently struggling with my own weight and appearance, so being approached in this way opened an entire Pandora's box of emotions for me. Did he know that? No. However, from someone who was trained in customer service from Disney...both employees could have acted differently but I chalk it up to poor management and training. After nervously talking and smiling to this poor guy, I noticed his (already) fake smile fade into a look of disgust and confusion. Instead of making me feel heard, seen, and assisted (literally what he is paid to do as a sales representative for his brand and the store)...I felt his glare of judgement and prejudice. I shrugged it off and awkwardly walked away and he basically ran to the back of the store. I felt uncomfortable and honestly should have just left then, but I wanted to look and told myself the interaction didn't mean anything and I was overthinking it. After finishing picking out my purchase, I walked up to the front register. The girl was the same one who greeted me before. Also plastered with a fake smile, we started our transaction. She made no small talk and so of course my awkward self decided to speak. Why I did this, I will never know. At the very end, I mentioned with a small laugh, "At least this was a normal experience, I think I scared the blonde guy in the front with all my talking," hoping she would reciprocate and make me feel not so crazy. She just half-smiled and gave a sad attempt at laughter saying, " Oh ummm okay." I thought she didn't hear me so I said, " oh, not him, me...I talked too much." And she responded again, "Mmhmm, have a good day." You want to talk about spirit crushing? The guy who greeted me at the beginning was back at his post and actively looked away from me as I left in uncomfortable defeat. I went straight to my car and started to cry. I made a video review I thought about posting on TikTok but decided against it. Then called my sister to make myself feel better. Pretty privilege is real and if you are struggling with your own appearance and you think "hmm, maybe I will look around Ulta for some inspiration" or even just to browse...DO NOT DO IT HERE. You might just walk out feeling a little bit worse about yourself. read more

One can only shop at this store if they "look" the part apparently. On today's visit to this store, I was definitely profiled. As soon as I walked into the store I was met with suspicious looks from the employees on the floor. I was asked 3 different times in a span of a minute If I needed help with anything. When I stated no, each time the employees watched me like a hawk until I left the store. None of the other shoppers (white) weren't asked more than once "if they needed help" in the abrasive way that I was asked. The cashier was less than pleasant as well. Do I recommend this place? No! and I will no longer be shopping here. When I called the manager and told her of my experience, she just made excuses. This is unacceptable. read more

I went here because the one in Jacksonville Mall was removed It is in a kind of busy location but, the parking was fantastic for a Saturday. I was greeted as soon as i walked in the doors & then left alone to shop on my own (which i like due to personal preference) there was no wait for the checkout, i also live for no long waiting in a line. Not to mention is was actually SO clean and everything was so nicely placed. And the Clearance rack was right within eye sight no more hunting for items on sale! read more

The salon services is over priced! I had an appointment and I was happy with the result but when I saw the bill, the stylist charged me $30 because I told her I like to see my hair wavy! $30 on top of the color and haircut but I was happy with the result and she said for next appointment she will lift the colors. After a month when I went back she was like asking me what I like to do? I said she told me she will lift the colors, but it's like she forgot sooo she did color correction and color my roots. I just got my hair done by Tori for the first time and what a great experience! She was so sweet and asked many times if I liked what she was doing and if I wanted to change anything and overall really took her time with me. I have never had my hair done at Ulta before and in general am usually not a 100% satisfied with the outcome, but this time was THE BEST. Thank you Tori I will be back!! read more

Great salon! Been a few times to the hair service area and have been satisfied each time. From my experience with other salons, Ulta Beauty has been the cheaper option and more in my budget. Besides the hair services, the store itself is well organized with all of the products and the employees are super helpful and sweet! Definitely recommended. read more

I saw Estelle for the curl by curl cut and she was AMAZING!!! This is the first haircut I've had where I haven't left the salon crying . I feel like all curly girls know what I mean lol. Estelle took her time, listened to my wants and concerns, and had SO much curl and product knowledge to share with me. She took her time styling my hair at the end using a sectioning method to apply product, carefully diffusing and finger curling stubborn curls. I highly recommend Estelle and I will be back for more curl by curl cuts with her Thank you! read more
