It's all about the stylist. First person I went to was better than my former "up scale" salon. She (of the "cute" hat- what's up with that?) over charged, double booked and cut not THAT great. First stylist lacks some training, scissor angle, layering etc. Then I saw Nancy. She's the real deal. Blended and added volume with her magic scissors. Offered suggestions to me of ways to maximize volume. She listened, confirmed, truly an outstanding professional hair cut. Thank you Nancy. read more

UPDATE: So Sally, the regional manager ended up leaving me a message to call her. Trying to get a hold of her on the call back was definitely a chore on my part, but eventually I was able to vent my frustration with the service I had received. She apologized profusely, but in the end - what can they do about a horrible haircut and experience all around? She offered my cut for free if I would give them another chance. She did offer that although they give their stylists training, they can't ensure that they follow it 100%, they can only try to. So I went back and saw Nancy this time like I had originally planned and she was awesome as usual. She comped my cut like Sally said and was very empathetic. Incidentally, the horrible stylist who in my humble opinion, shouldn't be in ANY service based industry, does not work at there anymore. Nancy is really what makes this location. She is just an all around pleasant stylist who actually listens to what you would like. The 4 stars are for her b/c I can't bring myself to give 5 stars b/c of that other horrible stylist (traumatized). ;o) Great job Nancy & thank you! read more

I have been getting my hair cuts at this Supercuts location for close to 10 years. For most of that time, I have trusted Nancy to taking care of my hair. I am always greeted by a smile and am treated as if I am the most important person in the salon at that moment. And to top it all off, I get an excellent haircut for a fair price. I could always go to a fancy salon and pay twice the amount for a haircut, but there is no need when such a high quality stylist like Nancy is at Supercuts. read more

I should probably not write reviews when I'm upset, but there's a lot of things I probably shouldn't do. I've been going to this place only 6 months or so, since I got tired of driving clear across town to my old place. They've always been relatively quick and competent. I still don't like paying $12 to do what I could (apparently) do at home with my vacuum for 3 easy payments of $19.99. So I stopped in yesterday during my lunch break, desperately in need of a trim. Now, to be clear, I should mention that I really don't need a "stylist". My hair should be really easy to cut - just take off the same amount all the way around. Use the #2 on the sides and back, and however much comes off there, cut that much off the top. Simple, right? Anyway, there was a new girl there, and I went with her because she was the first available, and I knew if I waited I'd get the guy with the multi-colored, spiky Flock of Seagulls haircut. I didn't want that - not just because of his bad haircut, but also because given the option, I'll pick the girl every time. Apparently, I miscalculated. What I forgot to consider about the guy with the bad haircut is that - most likely - someone ELSE cuts his hair. I think I found out who. I knew she'd cut it a little short before I was out of the chair, but I figured it'd stand up for a couple days then be OK. It just meant it'd be that much longer before I had to come back. Besides, she was kind of cute, so I let her off the hook. It was not til I got out of the shower that I found the extent of the damage. In spite of my explaination, and specifically pointing out the massive cowlick on my forehead that means the front has to stay a bit longer, she cut it WAAAAYY too short. Now the right side of my forehead sticks up, sweeping slightly toward the back of my head, as if I've been riding in the Concorde with my head out the window. Nothing I can do about it for a couple weeks, til it gets long enough to fall under its own weight again. As if that wasn't enough, she went to work with the thinning shears. I usually have them thin the top a bit, because my hair's pretty dense, but she just kept using them. Apparently all in the same spot. Now, there's a spot about an inch by and inch and a half, right in the middle of my head and an inch above the hairline, where I can see my scalp. And so can everyone else. My brother says the back is even worse. But he always says something like that, so how do I know if it's true? Obviously, next time I should go with Flock of Seagulls. Or maybe just to another place. If you go, and there's a youngish, cute girl on the right side calling you over, fake a heart attack or something. Don't let her near your head. read more

Best place to go to. Almost no line. Walk in. Best stylists IMO are Nancy, Esmeralda and Sue is alright. Always feels good! Love it!

My husband and I have been into this salon three times now in the past eight months. Each and every time we've been in, there is this one thin girl with short orange/red'ish hair that seems to have a serious attitude problem. My husband and I are ALWAYS extremely polite, so I can't imagine anything we might have done to provoke her. She simply doesn't smile and is very curt and short with everyone that walks through the door. The first time we went in both my husband and I had a quick trim. As I was paying the tab I simply asked her whether or not they offered highlights and if so, how much it would cost. She rolled her eyes the way a stereotypical, sassy 13 year old girl might and quickly said that they couldn't highlight my hair an hour and a half before closing time. Well... I understand why that might be the case; however, I wasn't asking her to sit me back down in the chair and color my hair right then. I was asking whether or not it was a service they offered and how much it would cost. So, I nicely said: "Oh, I understand. I wasn't planning on having anything done tonight. I was just curious as to how much it would cost." ...then nothing. She didn't say a word. She just stood there and stared at me, then handed me the receipt. It was obvious that she'd heard me and was purposefully not answering the question. I was blown away by how rude the young lady was that night. I just didn't get it. Why would she behave that way? Everyone has bad days, but the attitude was unnecessary. Because this salon is so close to our house we chose to go back a couple of times for trims. We're not the type of people that usually hold grudges. So although our two follow up visits were never quite as bad as the first, this girl managed to make us, and it seemed everyone else that interacted with her, feel very unwelcome. There is a Great Clips a block away that we'll be visiting the next time we need a hair cut. I just can't bear the thought of walking into this place again and being around this one grumpy stylist. She can easily ruin a perfectly good mood. It's truly a shame too, because all of the other women we've encountered have been very pleasant. The quality of the cuts themselves aren't bad, in fact, we always left happy with our hair. It's simply this one girl that's driven us away. Gooosh! I've been in customer service my whole life. I don't support the "customer is always right" stance. I don't believe in kissing people's butts, just because... but I do believe in leaving your personal life and whatever stress you may be battling at the door, upon beginning a work shift. Why? Because it's going to effect your work performance! Why make another person's day just a little bit worse because you can't seem to wipe the attitude from your face!? It's a shame because all of the other girls that were there and had helped my husband and I were very pleasant. And I certainly can't complain about any of the trims/cuts we've received. My husband and I were happy always happy with the hair itself. I may stop by again in the future, but you can bet I'll be checking the place out before walking through the front doors. If the Scrooge is there you can bet I won't be asking for a walk-in appointment. read more

This place is nice if you get a good stylist. I once had my color completely messed up by a new employee (Nancy, the manager called me up and said the other girl forgot to set it, so it wouldn't have even lasted three days). Luckily, they fixed it for free! I've gotten some good haircuts and some sub par ones, but it's normally an okay place if you want a cheap-ish hair cut. read more

I decided after decades, to get a short cut. I wanted to show the change occuring on the inside, out. Took a photo. I knew it might be quite different, as my hair is freaky. Isabel asked if she could help me. I was nervous. As my husband and service dog looked on, Isabels friendly banter helped me calm down. She can appear flaky, As she talks to herself, but she absolutely knew what she was doing. Not only that but she listened to me! Now that's golden. I really love my cut. I feel free and lighter. Ready to conquer the world. Ok well, maybe that day. My husband is having a hard time wrapping his head around my new do, but I've never gotten too happy with his short scratchy beard either. Equality is great! Lol I super appreciate Isa, and her friendly demeanor. You don't always get that anymore. And she's competent, yes that's something we lack in society today. I am picky about my hair. I have been going here for nearly three years now. There seems to be a lot of turn over of new trainees. I have never been fully satisfied with the turnover staff. On the other hand, when Nancy (The manager) cuts my hair, it is almost always perfect. You will have to wait but call 1/2 hour ahead and get your name on Nancy's list. You will be happy! read more

I got the worst haircut I've had to date there. While the gal was very nice, she didn't listen to anything I asked for and I ended up with a haircut that looked nothing like what I wanted and much shorter than I asked for. In fact, it kind of looks like a cross between a bob cut and a mullet! And she gave me bangs, I specifically asked for no bangs and my "example picture" didnt have bangs. I spent a fortune trying to fix this haircut at a different place but it still looks pretty botched. I am NEVER going back. read more
