Shimmer is ALWAYS clean and ready to accommodate all of the clients that are in the salon. Second, the ambiance in the business - I have to say, I love the comfortable yet stylish decor in Shimmer. Brand new chairs (super comfortable for the longer appointments) - and new chairs at the washing and dryer stations. I love to see places that maintain their furniture and decor; no one wasn't to sit in old and dirty salons. I have to say, the best part about the place is Nichole! She has always made sure that I was in the best hands! I began having her do my hair from when she worked at another salon. I had to follow her to her own salon! Nichole has time and time again worked with my schedule; which can be difficult. She's made sure that I can get all of the services that I need and get on my merry way- lickity-split! I have been meaning to go in and talk to the manager of this barbershop. I am so upset with the…read morehaircuts my brother has received and the blantent disregard they clearly have for him. I should start by saying he has Down syndrome. After the first time he received a bad haircut, I went in with him for his next cut, and spoke with the stylist to make sure she wouldn't further cut into the mistake that was clearly made by the prior stylist. At that time, his haircut was fine. The next time he went in, I was not with him. He went in alone while someone who drove him waited outside. Since he is special needs and he's not inspecting the back of his head like "normal "customers would. I did not see him for a couple of days and when I saw this was too furious to waste time on a business that would mess up a disabled mans hair repeatedly and let him walk around looking so foolish without caring. If you look at the picture attached, I don't know how any stylist would not drop the shears immediately, profusely apologize and refuse to take any payment. It is disgusting to me--not that they give bad haircuts, but--that they don't think disabled men are worthy of looking and feeling their best.
