He started the job and then stood her up three different times, each time apologizing and then not show up, again. Our mother called us in a panic because she knew she had made the wrong decision by first not involving us, and second buying from someone unknown. When my sister tried calling Nick Forquer he would not call her back, but instead finally showed up to install our mother's carpet. My Forquer also refused to tell my sister what make the carpet was, that made us suspicious as to where he got the carpet and the fact our mother said the pad he used was in two different colors underlayment cushion. In closing, Forguer did complete the job, one month late; with a huge amount of stress and frustration, and with unknown carpeting. Our elderly mother said, "he smelled strongly of alcohol." when he did arrive.

We only had to wait a few days then installation was top notch.  The installers did a great job as noticed by us the home owners and the Linoleum guy we hired after the carpet was installed. The installers were kind and patient as I asked (probably 1 million) questions and gave me confident answers with the reassurance of "we got this".  When there was a slight mis-communication issue between the measurer/order/installer the hiccup was taken care of immediately and we didn't even miss a beat! At the flooring quote, I mentioned that I was looking to have this project done due to the storm a couple of months prior. A bedroom window had broken and glass was deeply embedded in the carpet. Despite cleaning up the best I could, I mentioned the debris at both my consult and at install, which the FCI team member never indicated would be a problem (it was the whole reason I was getting my flooring replaced after all). No floor protectant was put down prior to install, which resulted in the damaged carpet being dragged directly over my living room carpet. As you can imagine, some of the super small pieces ended up transferring. Not only was property damaged due to the installer's negligence, but he didn't even finish the project in the agreed upon time frame. When the franchise owner demanded the remaining payment, I told him that the job wasn't done (and provided proof of this damage to my home). He went back and forth with me for weeks, blaming me for taking too long to communicate (I have been upfront since the beginning about this home not being my primary residence and being very busy--I was assured that it was no problem and that my schedule could be accommodated). He has done everything but take accountability, and now I have to try to hire another flooring company to clean up his mess. His business, and all mention of FCI NW MI has been scrubbed from the internet. He has stopped responding to my messages, and now his e-mails are bouncing. I'm not alleging this was a scam, per se, but Jeff obviously doesn't have what it takes to run his own business...and now I have to pay for it. Literally.

We were anxious about how the process would work and how much stress it would put on Mom. We should not have worried. The FCI team handled everything and did a great job of making Mom comfortable with the process. They were professional, clean and courteous, and the finished product is outstanding. We would not hesitate to use them again.
