It was a nice drive from NOLA to BTR, that went well. Lol…read more I tried to call PRIOR to making the 80.8 mile drive to the facility to ensure 1) the vehicle was still in place 2) inquire of the condition 3) make sure they would be open Memorial Day. Well the answer to the 3rd question was resolved by the website. questions is 1 and 2 remained unanswered. Soooooo in spite of it all I took a chance and made the drive. After all, it was Memorial Day, BTR is not a bad drive and I was interested to see what the outcome would be. I will say this is a great idea. Whoever came up with. It is a great idea. You basically go on the website. See if the vehicle is in place, head on over and you remove the part yourself. There is a $2 admission cost, but if you sign up for the free VIP membership, there's a reduced price. And as a VIP member, your privyy to all sorts of deals that they send you via email or sms messaging. They provide you with wheelbarrows in the event that you have a heavy load to carry. But other than that, this is a DIY and it's best. So bring your OWN TOOLS!!!! Rows and rows of cars. Just imagine a vast wasteland of vehicles, but in a semi ordered fashion. In designated row and even particular spaces ie C304. All are ready to be taken a part as one needs. What I saw on the website versus what I saw in person we're starkly different. It was the Amazon vs Wish version of items. I must admit the vehicle that I was looking at it been there since March 2026 and this is the end of May 2026. So understandably things would be different. But my goodness, there was barely anything left of the vehicle. For your convenience, there's a handwashing station as you exit the yard. I found this to be beneficial, those junked cars are full of grease, grime & stagnant water from the rain. Also, in addition to being able to remove parts there is an area near the front door where they also sell other things. I guess things that they found in the cars, i.e. shoes, purses, etc.. Annnndddd I also found that they sell batteries and used tires. And they even have cars for sale. I did leave with a piece for my car, but not the ones I came for. So the trip wasn't a TOTAL BUST. I would return, maybe not to this particular location as there is one closer to my home, but I do like the idea of being able to find parts for the low-low. And I would also bring a person that is mechanically inclined to help with disassembly of the vehicle part that you need. I found the employees to be pleasant. Not very helpful, there was a sale going on and had I not mentioned it, the cashier was not going to share that information; HOW RUDE... Lol As I left, I heard in my Spirit, one man's trash is another man's treasure. This place truly embodies that adage.

I thought I'd never have to visit a junkyard again but here I am, thanks to owning a rare vehicle…read morethat contains discontinued parts from the manufacturer. I was in search of a driver side door actuator. I actually ordered one from EBAY but it didn't include the floor and trunk manual release. I took a look on Pull A Part's website for shits and giggles expecting them to have every model CTS except a coupe. To my surprise, the Baton Rouge location had a coupe in stock. Now the flip side was wondering if this part was still in the car. I drove an hour by both holding my door closed by hand and tying a strap to it, lol. Pull-A-Part granted me free admission for being a veteran. I arrived to find the part was still there. Now the other flip side was wondering if the part was still operational since you need the vehicle powered to test the actuators and the batteries are removed. You also need to remove the backseat, rear interior panels, and seatbelt to access the door actuator. Luckily Pull-A-Part has the vehicles elevated and spaced out which creates a decent work environment. I didn't even mind the fact that it began to rain. I even removed the passenger side door actuator for when it's needed in the future. Pull-A-Part discourages working on your vehicle in the parking lot. I needed to verify the driver actuator worked so I installed it quickly since my backseat and panels were already removed. I plugged it up and it didn't work. Disappointment was an understatement. Then something told me to pull on the floor release. The chime began to sound after hearing the actuator click. I closed the door and it worked. I did a little dance not caring about being seen, then I quickly hit the road after gathering my tools! P.S. Pull-A-Part only offers store credit. No refunds.

Update: I wish I could give this place 0 stars. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE…read more Today, I attempted to purchase the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 RST, but Chevy North's GM, David Hill, ruined the deal with his rude behavior and unwillingness to honor the original terms. On Friday, October 25, 2024, I spoke with the finance manager, and we agreed to remove the $450 addendum fee if I picked up the truck on Saturday. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, I couldn't make it on Saturday, and due to traffic concerns, I couldn't come in on Monday. On Sunday, I left a review detailing my experience. On Monday, the GM, David Hill, called me three times in 30 minutes regarding my review. He explained their "reasons" for the issues I'd mentioned, and I was still respectful at that point. Today, October 29, 2024, I was fully ready to finalize the truck purchase. Last week, Jacob, the salesperson, confirmed that the truck included door guards, nitrogen in the tires, and wheel locks, although these weren't yet physically on the truck. I even took a picture of the label, which showed these features were part of the deal. While doing the paperwork today, I asked where the wheel locks were, and the person helping me wasn't sure if they were included. I explained that Jacob had confirmed it, and I had the label as proof. However, David Hill then told me I couldn't have the wheel locks because I'd had the $450 addendum fee removed. I reminded him that this was not what we'd agreed on, and he rudely took the keys from my hand, effectively ending the deal. Instead of trying to fix my negative review--which could have easily been changed--the GM focused on the negative and refused to honor what was already agreed upon, seemingly as retaliation for my honest feedback. It seemed and felt like they didn't believe I could afford the truck or just didn't want to sell it to me in the first place. When I pointed out that this wasn't right, he mentioned my previous review, as if customers aren't allowed to share their honest experiences unless it's a 5-star rating. He ultimately told the finance manager to give me the locks if he wanted to but walked off to his office without resolving anything. At that point, I told them not to pull my credit because I would not be buying the truck. It's disappointing that the GM, who should be the store's leader, would rather let a $55,850.76 deal walk out the door over $60 wheel locks, already part of the original agreement. If you're considering buying a vehicle, Chevy North on Plank Road should be your last option. The GM is rude, unprofessional, and more concerned with his ego than customer service. This was my first experience trying to buy a vehicle, and I hope it's the last sale this place ever gets. Original Review I'm honestly disappointed with my first experience trying to buy a vehicle. I went to Chevy North on Plank Road hoping to purchase a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 RST. While the salesperson, Jacob, was friendly and helpful, the rest of the team made me feel like my business didn't matter. From the start, it seemed like they weren't interested in working with me beyond their initial offer. When I mentioned that the price felt too high, they brought out a paper with an even higher price, far above the $48,280 listed on their website. Then, they added several "non-tax fees," but when I asked for a clear breakdown, the financial manager wouldn't give me a straight answer. He tried to dodge my questions by vaguely tying these fees into the tax and doc fees--neither of which I had an issue with. So, are they not sure what these fees are, or are they just refusing to tell me? It left me feeling like they didn't take me seriously as an informed customer. I hate to leave this review, but I think potential future customers should know that Chevy North on Plank Road doesn't seem to care about their customers. If you're not willing to settle for what they call a "good deal" with no transparency, you won't get the respect or answers you deserve here.
