Polite, friendly, punctual and HONEST. 2 HUGE pine trees were taken down in our yard. They are a great team and work together very well. I have two other offers and I will discuss it with my wife and let someone know who has the job." A few minutes later he called back with a new offer. It beat the others. I said the job was his. Good businessman. The crew arrived exactly when expected on the agreed day. They were marvelously efficient and practiced good safety. The boss did a lot of air work in the "cherry picker" and the resulting cut logs were let down carefully. Ok, so this review starts about 4 weeks ago when R&W came while we were out of town. They came,…read morethey ripped out the blacktop, and they left. The fiber for our internet was buried within inches of the edge of our old driveway, but while it did get exposed in the process, even my ISP said "WOW, who is doing this job? Because they are REALLY careful". Add to that there was ZERO mess and everything was perfectly trimmed. Fast forward to this afternoon. They came, about 10 of them, and same thing, there was not a single black footprint, they had mats to protect the sidewalk, cleaned things up, texted early that they were running about an hour behind and the 100+ foot driveway was completely redone. This company and…read moretheir services are truly "as good as it gets!" and our experience gave us peace of mind from start to finish. They did an exemplary job for us and also came in with an amazingly low price when we comparison shopped for our large task of a complete tear-out and rebuild. From the first shovelful excavating our old, crumbling driveway, I was really in awe at how neat they were; our driveway abuts up against a mosaic concrete walkway, and the operators worked around it so painstakingly and precisely that there is not a single chip or drip on any block at all! Plus, their workers in this family-run business are 100% pleasant and professional-- super people--- very friendly and polite, though quiet (except for the machines, of course), and apparently respectful of every home and job no matter how small (our project, though large to us, was comparatively small compared to much that they have done). They left zero mess of any kind, and now our driveway is aesthetically the envy of the neighborhood. They even worked through a few special little changes we wanted to the original layout, and it's much more functional now. Their attention to detail and customer satisfaction was thorough-- the boss himself even checked back and spent substantial time with us after completion to make sure everything was perfect. And honestly, perfect it is-- it is entirely flat and smooth; I've tried to look for a dip or divot, but Decca won't permit anything but topmost quality workmanship. They even put in a few extra tons of crushed stone under the blacktop just to go the extra mile and ensure a perfect finish. And the entire job (which can take up to a month) was finished in 2 consecutive work days! So in summary, we cannot say enough positive about this company. We were lucky to find them. The three main traits you will discover in your experience are 1) first-rate craftsmanship of the result/product, 2) ethical practices/trustworthiness/professionalism during the process, and 3) more than fair price.

Our roof had algae, moss, and a few lichens... needed cleaning! The Upstate Roof Cleaning was…read morecompelling with before/after photos, promising to remove all of the moss, etc from the roof, and great reviews. The team came out in early September - they were on time, courteous, worked well together, and were obviously competent with what they do. They took a long time to rinse the cleaning solution from the roof and nearby plants (so much water that the soils were completely saturated which was a bit concerning). After cleaning the roof, the algae were gone, but the moss and lichens, while apparently dead, remained on the roof. I asked the team about this and they told me that these areas of dead algae and moss should be washed off in the next 2 weeks by rain and wind. After a month, lichen and moss all remained. I called the company and was told that this could take months so that "Mother Nature" could remove the debris. It is now over 2 months and my roof is not clean. The company was supposed to come (as a favor, they implied) to try to brush or blow the debris off at end of October/early November; rescheduled 3 times and there is now snow. I have requested a 50% refund as I will need to hire another company to come out to brush off the roof next year. Upstate Roof Cleaning will not provide any refund even in light of their failure to provide the results promised in their advertising. They now deny that their crew could possibly have said that it would take 2 weeks and debris would be gone (but they did tell me this immediately after the cleaning when I saw so much debris remaining on significant sections of the roof in the front of the house). I believe that their advertising is misleading -- they do not advertise a 2 step process where "Mother Nature" is a required partner in cleaning the moss/lichens off the roof. See the advertisement on this page which does not mention a longer period of time spanning months for dead debris to come off of the roof. My review -- this company does a good job with algae with a gentle process that includes no scrubbing, brushing or high intensity jets of water. If you have lichens and moss, these may not come off of your roof any time soon after cleaning, if at all. In addition, their custom solution killed leaves on plants in our gardens near the roofline. I lost a lilac, vegetables in a nearby garden, and flower buds/leaves on hydrangea bushes in early September, just as the flowers were blooming. Most of our plants had dead leaves on tops and dying flowers within a week. If you use this company, you will want to cover any and all plants near the house. The company said that plants should be safe under areas of roof with gutters. This was not true in our case as the solution is very toxic to plants.
