It's over priced but convenient. Skippy Peanut butter smooth is $10 USD. I would go to Soriana in Chapala or better yet Costco in Guadalajara. read more

I would like to thank a couple of special employees at El Torito for making every effort reently to have water delivered to my house. I',m sorry I don't know your names, but you know who you are! Even though you were busy, you made the effort to set it up. Thank you. I was in a real pinch, without water and although, I had to wait an extra day, the delivery was made and water brought into the house. Also I want to thank the butcher for providing some very fresh and delicious chicken from his case. The eggs are also fresh. People complain about being treated like gringos.... A little compassion goes a long way and maybe if a bigger perspective were seen, there would not be a review that criticizes so much........... pretty often you just get back what you put out there. Gratitude is needed.... Ok, that's all..... I just want people to show more love for one another. Thank you. Mia read more

It' the worst place I've ever been in Mexico. They do not price the items that Gringos would buy, for an obvious reason. The employees are pretty rude, don't follow COVID restriction policies, walking around without masks, or the mask pulled down, and when I tipped the young guy on my two visits, for bagging 4 or 5 items, 5 pesos once, 4 the other time, he looked at the coins in his hands, counting them, and seemed upset. This blew my mind, and that's why I would never go back to this horrid place, and I do not recommend it to anyone! The whole tipping someone who bags your groceries is absurd anyway, of course, as it is not a custom in any country other than Mexico. I love Mexico and the people but you do get tired of constantly being taken advantage of because you're a gringo, and sadly that's ripe in Ajijic! read more

Two stars (rather than one) because a few of the employees are actually quite friendly, and not scowling resentful and rude, because especially at the checkout, they are very much the latter. On top of that, the prices are inflated, the roof leaks, and the place is dirty. I don't think they have ever cleaned the shopping baskets for example. read more
