NOTE: Original scheduling was made through SuperShuttle. Prescheduled ride to/from home and BWI. The ride from home to BWI was flawless. The return trip from BWI on 7/24/23 was the problem. The company had access to the same flight information and can see the plane had a delay. Spoke with the ZShuttle rep. while on the tarmac and told the rep my location. My luggage pickup was delayed as well. Meanwhile, I received a text asking me to rate the driver. Called ZShuttle once I had my luggage and asked where the driver was. They contacted the driver and eventually, the driver picked me up. I had already prepaid for my trip with SuperShuttle but was told by the ZShuttle driver when I arrived home that I owed the company for the time the driver spent waiting for me at the airport. He consulted his ZShuttle management and they said I should pay. I paid what was asked but let the driver know how unfair this policy is since I had no control over when the plane lands. I've used Super Shuttle before in other locations, and had mixed experiences but generally good. I booked a trip from my house to BWI recently, and had a horrible experience. My scheduled pickup was for 5:30am (2.5 hours prior to my flight, and I'm only 10 min from the airport) and my driver finally came at 6:45am. I arrived at the airport well under an hour before my scheduled departure, but was extremely lucky in that security only took me 10 min, so I did not miss my flight. Apparently the driver couldn't find my location, so just skipped me and took the other passengers to the airport anyway. I was never notified, or contacted - I had to reach out and try to find out what happened. I contacted customer service while waiting for my driver, and was told a ticket had been initiated to refund my money, and that someone would contact me to discuss the situation. That never happened. I will never use Super Shuttle again, this was inexcusable. And to completely fail to follow through with my complaint is also unacceptable. Also, just an FYI, when you book online you'll see a "round trip" price but that is NOT the actual total price, that is a one-way fare that is discounted a dollar or two for booking a return. I was lucky in that I couldn't book a return trip with them - they stop service at midnight, and apparently a flight arriving at 11:10pm doesn't qualify to let you book return service. I tried to use SuperShuttle to get to BWI Airport, but my shuttle did not pick me up. My experience taught me I cannot rely on SuperShuttle and that SuperShuttle blames its mistakes on customers. I started waiting at 7PM and stepped outside at 7:20 (the pickup time) to look for the shuttle when I did not receive a call (the ticket agent told me I would get a call when the shuttle was close). I checked a few more times in the next fifteen minutes and called SuperShuttle at 7:35 to ask about my ride. The first representative said the shuttle was 8.5mi away (at 7:38). He then told me the shuttle arrived, waited 15 minutes, and left. This is cannot be true because I checked for the shuttle several times from 7:20 to 7:35. The shuttle could not have driven 8.5mi from the pickup spot and through downtown Baltimore unless it departed before 7:20. I never received a call or voicemail from the driver. The rep verified the driver had my phone number but would not say if the driver tried to call. It seems clear the driver did not. The second rep made several points clear: 1. SuperShuttle would not pick me up. 2. SuperShuttle would not pay for any alternative transport. 3. Phone calls for arriving shuttles were not guaranteed (contradicting the instructions of every SuperShuttle agent at BWI). These reps made it clear SuperShuttle would not make any effort to honor the ticket I purchased. I followed all directions and acted reasonably to meet my shuttle, but SuperShuttle failed to honor my paid reservation and show up. read more

After reading all of the negative reviews I was kinda horrified to take this shuttle from BWI to Washington, DC but in the end my only complaint would be that my driver smelled like cheese and armpit. With a last minute flight for a job interview in DC, I found myself needing a ride from the airport - and since my friends are responsible alcoholics that don't drink & drive, they couldn't pick me up. Sitting in the airport terminal in Boston, I placed my reservation on my iPhone in a matter of minutes. Soon I was in Baltimore - walked up to the SuperShuttle counter and told the disinterested young lady that I had arrived - what, no champagne? ;_; About 5 minutes later I was placed in one of their shuttles - the driver took my bags for me because I'm a lady - and there were 3 of us being driven to our final destinations. It was kind of annoying to have to drop people off along the way, but I guess that's the whole point of an inexpensive shuttle van. Dear SuperShuttle, you are less than Super. Normally I would have taken the MARC to the metro to save in price, but since I had a few two many bags, I went with the SuperShuttle as I had heard it was a decent option. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I most likely won't use it again, except for emergencies. First, it wasn't as cheap as I had heard. I probably could have taken a taxi for the same price. Second, it took AGES to get to my destination....close to two hours....to drive 30 miles. I get that we had to stop to drop off two other people.....and there was traffic....but the main reason it took so long was that we kept getting lost! I cannot say this is an efficient transportation method. For SuperShuttle to live up to their name they need to either charge less or get you to your destination faster. The driver was super friendly but it didn't make up for taking so long for me to get home, especially since I had been flying all day. read more

While replying to a SuperShuttle rep about my first review I remembered even more outrageous details about my ride home. Here's my message, I hope this review helps someone out. While I appreciate a reply I'm hesitant to believe that a national customer team or local management will change anything given Super Shuttle's business model. I failed to mention in my review that the driver stopped in the middle of a busy road to argue with my husband which of course escalated to a shouting match. This was the worst transportation experience of my life. I was so tired when I wrote this review (right after I got home) I forgot all the details. Wife and I rode from BWI to Cheverly, MD. We shared a super shuttle with only one other passenger. Our driver drove incredibly unsafely- we were very scared on numerous occasions. For example, our driver's navigation seemed to have turn by turn auditory directions disabled. Therefore, he was simply looking at the tiny Garmin screen every few seconds. On 5-6 occasions he missed our exit or street. Okay...but WAIT. He then stopped the car on the side of the interstate and attempted to put it in reverse to get back to the exit he missed. WHAT!!?? He did this twice and had us all on the edge of our seats. His normal driving consisted of flooring the accelerator and then slamming on the brakes- nearly rear-ending a few cars. 10 missed turns later, we arrived at our residence and kissed the ground. **UPDATE** Sent this experience to customer service and they issued a refund for the trip. In the past month we've have visitors from outside the country, and used Super Shuttle as their drive back to the airport. The first time the shuttle did not show up AT ALL, and only when we clapped we found out that they have no solution for us, but to give us credit. On the second. Time, the shuttle was half an hour late, and this was at 3:00 am, I'm pretty sure there was no traffic. We're very disappointed and we'll look into other options. read more

I had a reservation, but when I checked in it was going to be another 25 minutes before I could get in the vehicle. Myself and 2 others finally set off for our destinations. About 5 minutes into the journey the vehicle started acting up -- we think it was the transmission. We pulled off the side of the road a few times before permanently having to pull off on a major freeway. Oh, BTW we sat in the van for about 8-9 minute at the airport in humid heat before the driver turned on the A/C despite numerous requests. Once we pulled off it was so hot in the van that the 3 of us stepped out even though the driver didn't appear comfortable with that. We attempted to ask for a cab, but he insisted that another van was coming. I'm guessing after 20 minutes or so we finally had another vehicle. Obviously the maintenance of Super Shuttle vehicles in this area is not good. I called to report the incident on the line where you can ask for a refund and no refund was offered. Poor customer service. I'll never use them again in the Baltimore area. 3 business people sweating bullets on the side of the road and you can't comp the trip? Really? The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because I did make it home from the airport...2.5 hours later. I live in DC. Made a SuperShuttle reservation from BWI weeks in advance. Flight landed at 10pm. Checked in to SuperShuttle by 10:10pm. Shuttle was halfway between DC and BWI, so had to wait about 30 minutes. We picked up a full van of people. Dropped someone off near Columbia, MD. Then another at College Park. THEN...instead of going directly thru DC, where 7 of us were going, we went on the Beltway to ALEXANDRIA...dropped off one person...THEN up thru DC after an hour detour. I paid extra money ($68) for a "non-stop" ride from BWI to my home in Washington, D.C. After waiting 45 minutes for a shuttle since "none were available", I was thrown on a crowded shuttle with tons of other groups, which added over 35 extra minutes to my trip since I was dropped off LAST in the group. To add insult to injury, the van was clearly poorly maintained, and had a number of warning lights on the dashboard (including ABS, MIL, tire pressure, and more.) The driver drove more erratically as the drive went on, due to exhaustion? Hard to say, but I was afraid by the end. Furthermore, I sent several emails to SuperShuttle support, and never received a response. A lame excuse of a transportation company. UPDATE: A few days after posting this review, I was offered a refund. This is nice, however I'm only bumping the score up to two stars, since it should not have taken me posting this review to get a response from the company. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Our shuttle was supposed to pick us up at 4:30 am this morning. We get a call that says they're not coming and will be sending a cab. This is the most unprofessional crap I have ever seen. Did I mention they took our money? It's almost 5:00 am and no taxi because the taxi has to come from BWI. Every time I don't use Uber, I regret it. I hope more car services like Uber and Lyft are created to these shuttle companies and taxi drivers a lesson. I have taken SuperShuttle several times to and from BWI. It has been a mixed bag to be sure. Understand this is a franchise model- SuperShuttle owns the brand and interfaces with the customer. The drivers are franchisees who must purchase their van and depend on SuperShuttle to provide a stream of business. So, clearly drivers prefer a full van. Who wouldn't? But don't complain to the customer when the dispatcher gives the driver a route with only one customer. That cannot be the customer's fault. I have had drivers complain to me several times that my destination was costing them money. How am I supposed to respond to that? Going to the airport has been better- they generally arrive within the 15 minute window they quote. They do arrive 3 hours before the flight, so bring reading materials for the airport. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SuperShuttle during peak times / holidays- prepare for a nightmare. They will call and cancel your reservation at the last minute. During off-peak hours, it's ok to the airport. From the airport, it's hit or miss. While they boast about the 30 minutes or less guarantee, I had to speak to the dispatcher after waiting 45 minutes. Apparently, they could not find a driver to take me. It would have been nice for them to proactively informed me after their 30 minute guarantee expired. Eventually, they put me in a cab and paid the difference. Luckily, passengers walked off after hearing the dispatcher inform me they were not going to provide alternate transportation. It's caveat emptor with SuperShuttle- if you really have to make the flight, consider begging your family/friends to take you to the airport. read more

I traveled to Baltimore for a conference and to see an Orioles game with my good friend who lives in DC. I felt like the SuperShuttle at BWI was a little like both. Like a business conference, it's overly formalized and bureaucratic. At BWI you check in, and they give you a piece of paper with a number. You wait until your number is called, and that wait can be a long time. Why? Because they cram vans full of people. The desk clerk was far from hospitable, which is sad, particularly when you're grabbing a shuttle after 11 p.m. and you're very road weary. Like a baseball game, it's hit or miss. The miss was on the way there. I had to wait for nearly 45 minutes for my shuttle using the aforementioned number system. (I was wondering if I could have walked downtown faster. I guess the answer was no, but I sure wish the light rail had still been running.) The shuttle was cramped full. The driver didn't turn on the air conditioning (in Baltimore in late June) and drove on the interstate with the windows down. He alternated between religious programming and silly talkshows on the radio, without once asking the 8 or so of us if we had any preferences. He didn't talk at all, really, until most people had been unloaded, and then he was finally willing to converse about the World Cup. I was tired, sweaty, and had been treated like a number and a sardine. I almost cancelled the return trip. I'm glad I didn't. It was a hit--the driver was at my hotel early; he only had to pick up 3 other people; he was friendly and helpful. It wasn't enough to cure the sour taste in my mouth, still lingering from the ride in, but at least it wasn't a disaster. It is absolutely unbelievable that I would be put in a shuttle from BWI to SW DC that routes through Chevy Chase to AU to Woodley Park to Bethesda. They have terrible logistics and they are a transportation company. It will take me almost 4 hours to get home. We were 5 minutes from one guys hotel and went 30 minutes out of the way. Take the MARC or Amtrak train before you consider SuperShuttle. MARC and Amtrak go to Union Station which is pretty central to DC; then you can take the Metro, bus or cab to your destination. I used to be a fan, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Let's add insult to injury. The driver can't find the destination of a passenger and says to him, I thought you knew where you were going. The guy had only been there once before. Doesn't the driver have an address and a GPS? And please turn down that annoying music!!!! read more

They were more than 30 min late to get me. When I asked the driver about it, he said that his other 2 pickups were at 230 and 245 (mine should have been 2pm). Not the driver's fault, but a real scheduling issue. The driver was nice and courteous, but if an airport pickup service cant be relied on to arrive within about 10 minutes of the pickup window, they're not worth using. I've never had a problem with Super Shuttle in Austin (my hometown). I will never use BWI Super Shuttle again. Seriously: BAD, BAD, BAD. Do Not Use. read more

After 35 minutes of waiting, the assigned driver never showed up and left the airport! So I requested a refund and cancellation of my reservation. Super Shuttle employees yelled at me for not having patient! SERIOUSLY? It doesn't even take that long to go downtown from BWI! Absolutely insane of the unacceptable employee behaviors! Ugh. I've used SuckerShuttle in the past and was never very impressed. I prefer to drive myself and park at the airport, but when Delta had us leaving from BWI and coming back into DCA, we needed a ride, and the thought of calling a taxi was scary. So I booked SuperShuttle. Our pickup window was 3:35 AM - 3:50 AM. Our driver arrived right at 3:50. I was already worried about getting to our gate on time when the driver informed us there were two more stops to make, one of whom had the same pickup window as ours (therefore, we were super late picking him up). The van smelled like a combination of dirty diaper and cigarette smoke...how the driver managed that one, I have no idea. Luckily, BWI is amazing and efficient and even though it was Thanksgiving, we got through security quickly enough to make our flight. My recommendation? Just get a cab. It's going to cost roughly the same, you don't have to make multiple stops, and you're more in control. I'm promising myself this was the last time we use SuperShuttle. read more

About 10 years ago, I had a terrible experience with Super Shuttle and haven't used the service since then although I travel frequently. I decided to give them another try and was pleasantly surprised. The van arrived right on time for travel from my home to BWI airport. The driver was friendly without being annoying. There was a stop to pick up another passenger which went off without a hitch. And the cost was under half of what a car service would charge (take that Uber!). read more

Like other customers, I recently paid for a "non-stop" ride from BWI to DC (November 26, 2017). This service is much more expensive than the "shared" rides and is advertised as a private ride, i.e. with no other passengers. However, I was put into a van with three other passengers, and we had to wait for some time for the third passenger to arrive. Once the third person finally arrived, I got to my destination very efficiently - no complaints about the driver or van - but I still don't think that I should have to pay a much more expensive price for a service that I did not receive. I contacted Super Shuttle's customer service almost three weeks ago to request a PARTIAL refund. I followed up a few times, and have received no response. This is unacceptable. Super Shuttle's website states that the Customer Service team response within 5 to 7 business days. This untrue. I highly doubt I would use this particular Super Shuttle service in the future. read more

N E V E R A G A I N !!!!!!! I contracted SuperShuttle for a ride to BWI Airport, and a follow-up ride home from the airport (at 2:00 AM on a Thursday night). The ride to the airport was nice and uneventful. As for the scheduled pickup from the airport, my family and I found ourselves ABANDONED, with no notice. I called the dispatcher, who put me on hold for 15 minutes. She claimed she couldn't find my order. I explained that I had the order printed out and in my hands. Again, I was put on hold for another 10 minutes. Someone else finally answered, who told me that they spent the day trying to contact their driver, and he never responded. I asked him why they never notified me. He tried to tell me he had no contact information on my order. I asked him how that could be the case, given that they texted and emailed me for the original trip. Of note, they had no trouble emailing me the notice that my return trip would be refunded the next day. They never apologized for stranding my family at the airport in the middle of the night, and only offered me a lousy 25% coupon for future trips. Big deal. FIND ANOTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION!!! We booked a 5am pickup for an airport transport a few days in advance. The transport was arranged through a company called ExecuCar. At 5:05am, there was no car at our house. We had to download the ExecuCar app just to check on the status and get a phone number for the driver. We called the driver and obviously woke him up. He said he would be there in 15 minutes, but we could see he was coming from a driving distance closer to 30 minutes. We checked Lyft, which estimated a pick up for 12 minutes, so we ordered the Lyft. We then called the ExecuCar driver to cancel. The guy wasn't happy and actually tried to call us back (we didn't answer.). On the plus side, we were very promptly refunded the full amount. read more

I think the service has exceeded my expectations every time. I have used them every 2 weeks for the past 2 months to take me from Silver Spring to BWI. The driver is on time every single time. I am sent a text message with a link so that I can track the shuttle - which is awesome and the driver calls when he's outside. As expected he has 2-3 other passengers to pick up which we end up driving around for but I end up getting to the airport way ahead of time. Given that my flights are the 6am out BWI I'm not sure what the service is like in rush hour times or from the airport to home. But definitely if you need to get to that early morning flight at BWI from DC area - I would highly recommend it. read more

You would think that with all of these single stars that the service would be improved. Well, similar to everyones experience, I was very dissatisfied with my encounter. This was my first time using the service after my friend suggested it because of his experiences in Philadelphia. The ride to BWI was fine. The driver wasn't friendly but I didn't care at 5am. He was on time which I appreciated. Next time, I will lie about my flight departure time because I got to the airport way too early but better than late. Well, upon my return I waited and waited. Vans pulled up and none bothered to tell me I was standing in the wrong place to get on a van. So I went inside and they told me another 15 minutes. Annoying but whatever since I had already been waiting a half hour. Partly my fault. Well we get to the van and the driver moves slow as molasses. He doesn't speak, just looks at us and keeps fussing with cords connecting his equipment. He grabs our bags (what horrible customer service. I get it, its late but this is your job) and we get in. He gets me home safely so I am thankful for that but I'd much rather catch Uber. There are too many traveling options to settle for this! read more

The SuperShuttle experience you get at every airport is a bit different, but this one was not so bad at least compared to what I experienced at JFK one time. Unfortunately public transportation from BWI isn't nearly as good as it is from DCA or IAD (especially once Dulles gets connected to the metro), so SuperShuttle is one of the few options besides using the MARC Train or the Greenbelt Bus. I took the SuperShuttle from BWI to Northwest D.C. on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 30-40 minutes for a shuttle. Maybe it's my fault that I didn't make a reservation beforehand, but I figured it wouldn't take very long to get a shuttle since so many people fly into Baltimore to get to D.C. Either way, at least once I was on my way they did a good job of putting me in a van with other people who were staying in the same general vicinity so the travel time to my destination wasn't horribly long. The thing that's probably most irritating is how early they pick you up if you're traveling to the airport, especially if you have a morning flight. I've had 7:00am flights where the latest option I had to get picked up was around 4am. If you know you're planning on using SuperShuttle for your next trip, I would plan ahead and try to book a return flight that's at a decent hour so you won't be dead the entire day after that. The drivers for SuperShuttle are certainly more courteous than most cab drivers, but the friendliness level varies from one to the next. This doesn't matter so much unless you're awkwardly stuck in the front seat with one of them for the trip. In terms of prices, it's probably much cheaper than a cab ride would be unless you took one of those minivan cabs with a large group. I ended up paying around $35-40 each way between the Dupont Circle area to BWI airport. read more

Driver was fantastic. Do NOT pay extra for non-stop ride. I did and was the final stop on a full van. Easy to book. Easy to find at BWI, however Curb Assistant was No where to be found until the van pulled up. I had to call in to check in for my shuttle instead of checking in with the Assistant. Also be aware that if you arrive around 10 p..m. be ready to have to wait up to 2 hours (what I was told when I checked in for my shuttle ride after my flight, not what I was told when I talked with a Customer Service Rep the day before my trip), my wait ended up being less than 15 minutes, but the potential wait stressed out my already stressed travel companion. I am using the service again for myself, but will not use it when traveling with my husband. read more

We booked and PREPAID on 8/10/2018 for a 50-mile ride to Baltimore BWI on 6/18/2019 with a pick-up time at 4:42 am. After SuperShuttle had enjoyed a 10-month prepayment from us, they called at 4:05 am on the day of ride informing that they did NOT have vehicle to send us to BWI. Then we had to scramble to find a taxi at that early time to drive us 50+ miles to BWI. We had a very early flight on that day to the final destination of Boise. We almost missed the flight as a result of such late notice from SuperShuttle. It was obvious that SuperShuttle had not wanted to lose the business until the last minute (37 minutes to spare for a 50-mile drive) to find a willing franchisee driver for a party of 2 (us!) We will NEVER use SuperShuttle again. And SHAME on you, SuperShuttle! read more

On the morning of travel, I got the regular text messages that the driver was on his way. Problem was, driver was within his 15 minute window, but GPS placed him over 40 minutes away and nowhere near downtown Baltimore. My pick up was between 4:50-5:05 AM. 10 minutes after the scheduled arrival time, I called the 800 number and while on hold got a call from a rude woman saying that I could cancel my ride or reschedule! I don't think I am unimportant, but I don't have any pull over Southwest airlines and to make them change the flight for me to get there! My $16 one-way airport shuttle wound up costing me $40 bucks with Uber. I used to rely on super shuttle all the time But The past couple of trips have been problematic. Live and learn. read more

If I could give them no stars I would! This experience was absolutely horrible. My flight was leaving BWI at 5:40am. The shuttle scheduled my pick-up for 3:50am. I called them the first time at 4:05am, I waited on hold for 10mins to find out the driver had called out and they were trying to get an alternate pick-up for me, this is Now 4:15. They then state it will be another 15 mins before someone came. I decided to go with Uber. Super shuttle offered no apology and gave me nothing but attitude. I missed my flight and had to spend extra money. The worse! Never again! If you need reliable transportation do NOT use this company! read more

Made a reservation for a pickup from BWI for Sunday night to Annapolis. After checking in via the mobile app upon arrival I stopped by the check in counter and was told they were unable to locate a driver. I had to get an Uber and pay twice what the shuttle cost. Then, I checked my card charges and was charged for my SuperShuttle ride before my Uber ride was even complete. I called the number on the card that the lady at the bwi supershuttle had given me for refund and was told I would need to submit a claim for refund online and would receive a refund in 7-10 days. Ummmm okay? Just a nThere was another passenger waiting in the Uber pickup who was also supposed to have a supershuttle ride. She told me this was the second time supershuttle had put her in this predicament on a Sunday night. UPDATE- I had booked a round trip shuttle. I thought surely they won't disappoint on both trips. I was wrong. Had a reservation to be picked up for a 6:20a flight. Received the text confirmation with pickup time and no shuttle arrived. Uber saved me yet again. Do not assume that you can call if someone doesn't arrive. Their phone number says they open at 4a Arizona time. 6/26/19. Thank you Supershuttle for suggesting I contact customer service. As you are aware there is no customer service phone number, but as promised I did receive a refund within about 5 days after emailing the "customer service" email. There was also no notification of "low availability" when I booked and I was assured when I called to double check the second leg of my round trip that "if the computer program booked a ride then a ride was available". read more
