I visit on a daily basis and have great interactions with the team. The building is older but it is maintained. The rooms are small but kept very clean. The dining room is bright and inviting. It serves multiple purposes -- meals, social time, and daily activities. It also has a large TV that residents enjoy. For the most part the food served is pretty good. Residents have the option to eat in their rooms if desired. Avalon offers a nice variety of activities each day, including arts and crafts, bingo, music, exercise, and Bible study, which help keep residents active and engaged. There is an onsite hair salon. An interesting fact is the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed there. Overall, Avalon Health and Rehabilitation may not be the newest facility, but it's a warm, caring place with dedicated staff and a genuine community feel.

Dr. Justice never misses a beat. Whatever I need for my children all I have to do is ask. I'm a hard mama to please and I don't give anyone a break when it comes to my babies and their health. When I take my daughter to the practice they always have a room to put her in to reduce her contact with others while there or her contact with sick children(she has a weakened immune system). Both my children love Dr. Justice. She is thorough and patient we have never been rushed out of the visit. She has stepped out of her "doctor" role and given me mom advice on many different things. She was open and honest about her own personal struggles with being a mom and how she tackles different situations. We love it here and as long as we continue to receive them a same level and of service we will be here until the kids grow out of the practice. My toddler went to her immediately and loved hanging out with her. While I was laboring she tidied up my kitchen so everything was clean for the next day for my husband. She supervised my little one while he came in to see me, and took him to another room when things got intense. He even let her put him down for a nap which I was super surprised by! My husband was able to focus on me the entire time without having to worry about the little. My labor was fast and intense so I was really thankful he was there for support. I would definitely recommend having a sibling doula from labor of love at your home birth, or if you need someone to be with your kids while you're at the hospital.

I've been my own medical advocate for quite sometime after a few chronic illnesses, so I needed a doctor who trusted my opinion and didn't look down on me because of my age. Dr. Bergstrom and Dr. Keller are both these kind of physicians! Dr. Keller was my first doctor at this practice. His manner is extremely calm and patient. He listened to everything I had to say and spent a generous amount of time with me. I was so grateful for his outside-of-the-box thinking that got me a good diagnosis and fast relief. He definitely cares about his patients. I am now seeing Dr. Bergstrom as a regular patient and I love him! He is funny and makes you feel comfortable about anything you need to say during the appointment. He also is willing to listen to everything. He even is very open to my suggestions after doing my own research about treatments. I'm so glad since I'm the one who knows my body best. The whole office is very calm; it's never very busy. I'm always the youngest patient in my 20s by a decade at least. I've never waited more than 15 minutes, and I'm always out of the office within the hour unless something weird happens (likes I need an EKG--which they have in the office!). I'm a fan!
