Try repeatedly to push the patient out the door even though the patient is no where near ready to leave. Your surgeon or PCP have no opinion on their patients care. They should be the decision makers. Instead the office staff blames early release on the insurance reviews which are completed by people in another state who only rely on the notes from staff. So unprofessional, & cold! Only Marywood's physician who is elderly himself makes the decision on when they are ready to go. This is NOT how our senior community should be treated.

I found Magnum online, these guys got a Dr to do a house visit that afternoon, thank God because he was on blood thinning medication, they set him up on a lower dose of warfarin, got a nurse to come visit him twice a week to make sure he was reacting ok to the med dosage and also got a physical therapist to come to his house twice a week! He is doing 100% better now, able to leave his house when he wants and seems a lot healthier after the medication change. The physical therapist helped him to be able to exercise on his own and strengthen himself to be able to do household chores and his hobbies, I can't thank you guys enough, he really feels independent and happy again! Thanks guys!!!

I was very persistent with my family to bring my…read moremom to the Plymouth Inn because I knew two other people who's parents were residents there years ago and were very happy. I could go on and on about the several incidents that happened in her short (two months) time there, but I won't because there are some staff members who do really care about the residents. There are, however, underpaid staff members who should not be employed there. My mother did have some dementia, which made her act angry and very verbal on occasions. The staff must not have been trained to understand the disease because several of them would take offense towards my mother. That saddened me, because this was not my moms normal disposition. I tried to be patient since my mom was new , but when I found out someone had entered her room at night, went into her walker compartment, took out her wallet and stole all her cash, that's when I lost it! From then on, I knew I would never feel comfortable with my mom there even though I visited almost everyday. My brother flew in and immediately took her back to Florida with him. She's 94 years old and I miss her so much. All her family is here in Michigan, but at this point, she feels comfortable with him because she was never comfortable at the Plymouth Inn. Like I said, many of the staff have been there for years and are very good at what they do, but because of the employee shortage and the need to hire people who are not trained has taken a toll. Unfortunately, my family, especially my mom had to be a part of it.

The nurse on morning shift is very lazy and gets very upset when there's work to be done constantly complaining. For example a resident was injured on midnight shift, the nurse on that shift didn't write a report incident so they left it for mornings to do and the nurse on morning was not going to do it because she didn't feel like doing the paperwork. DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILIES HERE! They treat them any kind of way! Horrible place of business and very surprised it hasn't been shut down. So many laws are broken in this facility.

I'm writing this review for the sole purpose of warning people that this is not the place to put…read moreloved ones if they are infirm and need constant care. My dad was in here for 4 weeks and it was one issue after another until my family promised each other that we would never return my dad here. The staff smiles to your face and then neglects the patient. My dad went in with no wounds on his body- and came out with a stage 4 (the worst) bedsore that is requiring surgery, and a stage 2 bedsore, meaning they were not turning him often enough. And for them to let it get that bad and not tell us? Untenable! They were basically lying to us. It took a bout of pneumonia and a bacterial infection to send my dad back to the hospital for us to find this out. And I'll spare you the details of the bacterial infection, but the hospital told us it was because they were not keeping him clean. Couple that with they have a "two hour window" for medications- they had my dad on a roller coaster of consciousness, not what was needed to get my dad home to heal. What galls me the most is that I personally went and had a meeting with the staff and the social worker to make sure we were all on the same plan for my dad. Every single one of his care givers said that they understood and would work to get him home. Instead- he ended up in a hospital with sores on his body that I hope no one ever has to see on someone they love. We chose this home knowing it wasn't at the top of the list, but because only a handful of places take patients with trach tubes it was one of our limited choices that was nearby where my mother was. And because the staff seemed so nice, so caring. And know that it isn't cheap- it runs about $2000 more a month than other homes we looked at. I guess you really "don't get what you pay for". The Medicare website lists this as a "below average" nursing home. Wish I had seen that website before I allowed my loved one to ever cross the threshold of this place. Beware!

My grandfather was able to walk with assistance after he was discharged from U of M hospital. He was admitted to Heartland and did not see a physical therapist for 5 days. He deteriorated after that and has not gained back the strength that he had. They also stuck him in adult briefs so they wouldn't have to get him up to bathroom. My grandpa is alert and oriented so this was demeaning to him. Finally, trying to talk to a doctor is IMPOSSIBLE! I called and called and called and never got a call back. There is no communication there. Nurses don't know what physical therapy is doing and vis versa. I know there are not a lot of good nursing facilities out there but don't send your loved one here..

Clients are sitting in wheelchairs throughout the hall, nothing colorful for them to look at or keep their attention for any amount of time. Many of the client clients do not have a bathroom in their room, and those that do are shared by four people (Jack and Jill style bathroom between two patient rooms). Nothing appears to have been updated since it was originally decorated. The daytime Staff are polite and friendly, and acknowledge you as you walk through the hallways. The nighttime staff are either understaffed or inattentive, as they do not respond to the call lights in a timely manner. This facility would work for a quick respite stay, if you have nowhere else to take your loved one, but would not work for a living facility as each bed appears to have less than 100 square ft.for their "living space ".

My sister was at Medilodge of Plymouth for two weeks for physical therapy. The care was not very…read moregood, and she only received 30 minutes of PT each day. The remainder of the time was spent in bed. When she was released, her husband had to take her to the ER because her second toe was infected. The infection was in her toe bone, so the doctor said the toe would need to be amputated. What kind of nursing care did she receive that would have missed a severely infected toe? This place should not be allowed to operate without a state inspection.

They neglect requests to be seen by a doctor. They neglect changing them or bathing them. They do not help them brush their teeth at all! They're not helpful when it comes to feeding time and need help. Being short staffed wasn't the issue if I see five to six just sitting around on their phones, even if they were it don't give them the right to be a shitty human being with no compassion.
