I wanted to build an ADU at my friend's house. We are both retired and wanted to join our pensions for a nicer living arrangement. The plan was to convert her garage into an apartment for me. These people Lie. The remodel was several years ago and I am still pissed. I asked to be refunded the $5,000 I was overcharged and they said they would come back to the house and fix any issues but I no longer live in that house. When they do respond to bad reviews they are rude and lie. I followed the rules and paid them. I wish they would have followed the rules and done the job right the first time and not charged me for the mistake they made. They may have one good crew but it seems like they went down to Home Depot and picked up people that said they could do the job. Last I spoke with the workers this company has a hard time actually paying the employees. Just look at the workmanship on the pictures I posted. read more

I worked with Supreme Remodeling last year to rebuild house for me in Burbank last year. It was a long and arduous project that involved demolishing 50% of an old house down to the studs and then building an attached addition from the ground up. I sent out my completed architectural plans to at least 15 different companies, and took interviews with many of them. Received bids from maybe 5-6 different ones. Here's what the difference was. First of all, Micky the owner of Supreme remodeling took the initial meeting himself. He was in no way pushy or salesy in any way. He was patient (it took a month for me to come to a decision). I was able to look at ACTIVE construction projects that he had going on. He was extremely knowledgeable on all of the new building trends and he has a good eye for design. Once I signed on, it took about 9-10 months to complete. He has a good roster of subcontractors that he works with. But his inside guys Eddie and Ronell are outstanding. In the end the real difference that sets Supreme apart has to be the service. Micky and his staff are very available and responsive. Even on a Sunday night he's active and communicating the following weeks work. If there's an issue he's on top of it. And even though the initial cost of the project was high, you definitely get what you pay for and to be honest, it is a very common experience to have contractors to offer you a lower price just to rope you into a situation where they constantly barrage you with extra charges during the project because they weren't "in the contract". All in all I would definitively work with Micky and supreme again in the future on any projects that I have coming up. read more

Supreme Remodeling gave me the bathroom of my dreams! I had a specific retro/Hollywood Regency bathroom style and they nailed it (see photos). I was under a time-crunch but Simon and Maor who oversaw the project along with Nicole in Supreme's main office hit the ground running and we were done on time in 4 weeks. Simon and I agreed on scope and signed the work contract and the next day he had his demo team on site. Every morning the team came in on time, we'd review that day's work and they would get it done. No delays, missing work crews, or unexpected problems and they always answer a text or phone call immediately. This project involved very detailed two-color tile work with custom-cut tile designs, shampoo niches, a custom kilim pattern in the floor, cove base molding and cutting out and creating a beautiful arch for the shower stall (Giovanni/Eddie/Fidel). They also had to strip/sand/paint and restore the 80 year old vanity that I love which included stripping paint-covered hinges--which most other contractors hate to do (Luis/Jonson/Axl)! Finally all matching plumbing/electrical fixtures and the venting fan were carefully installed (Jacob/Chris/Ari). When I took my first shower in the arched stall - I couldn't believe the incredible water pressure improvement and was literally screaming in jubilation! Update to our remodel. So the remodel started May 1, 2018 and finally finished February 7, 2020, just in the knick of time before the pandemic practically shut everything down March 13, 2020. I give thanks everyday that I had the strength to push hard to finally get the project complete and our house in order. The quality of the work was great at the end of everything, but there were lots of hurdles, frustration, angry conversations, stern emails. At the end, the contractor and we were relieved we didn't have to see each other again. I was a thorn in their side, but I fought for what was right based on the contract. A friend recommended Supreme Remodeling when my heater went out. I had been considering getting central air and heat and consulted Micky at Supreme. From the first moment of contact Micky was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. I knew we were in good hands. Since we were going to upgrade anyway, I thought about doing a long existing wish list if I could. We went over all the things that I was hoping to do including adding a powder room, completely remodeling an existing bathroom, re-wiring the whole home (including garage) with a new electrical panel, adding recessed lighting, replacing many windows, interior patching and painting and some other details. I noticed from the beginning that Micky was really good at design and had fantastic ideas for my house. I really appreciated the time he took to personally go over all the details with me to make sure that I would get everything that I wanted. This is my second time working with GUY from Supreme Remodeling for construction on a condo in West Hollywood (same condo from my first review of Supreme) This construction project was not your typical...the particular condo unit that was worked on had 20 foot ceilings on both the first and second levels, with a small loft/walkway space in-between. I had the lofted area extended to cancel out the first floor high ceiling, adding 350 square feet for a new Master Bedroom Suite. Of course building a new bedroom/bathroom condo in an existing condo unit is NOT as easy task, dealing with limitations regarding electrical, plumbing, etc., however, my contractor Guy made the process as easy as could be. Guy communicated with me on a regular basis the timeline/schedule of events making it easy to stay on track of the finished deadline. Stay away! We recently had our bathroom remodeled by Supreme Remodeling and I can honestly say that it was the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor, after working with a fair share of other contractors. Upon meeting our project manager, Jonathan, he was courteous and responsive in the beginning, however by the end of the job he became very short and unresponsive. The communication was subpar as there was constant checking in that needed to be done because we were unaware if there was going to be work done each day or not. There were days where Jonathan said workers were coming to work, and they never showed up or came a couple hours late. If you're looking for a contractor, always get everything in writing. There were multiple times where I was given a certain price verbally, however when the time to pay came the price magically changed. Without having any record of this, and the work already being worked on, I was left to pay the higher price of course. There were items he said his workers would provide (baseboard, paint, etc.) however when the time came to do those jobs, he asked me to provide the materials. The job took longer than expected, however I was prepared for that because I know contractors normally take a little longer than expected. I was not prepared for the terrible work this company had done on our bathroom remodel (see pictures). The bathroom was left dirty, the walls were not painted well, there were chips and dents in the ceiling and walls, there was a huge visible gap left behind our new vanity. Our new shower wall panels were left smudged and dirty, the screws on our bath faucet were stripped. It was a MESS. We were also left without a shower door. At the beginning of our contract Jonathan said he would have his team install a shower door, however at the end of the job he claimed he had to have his special shower door guy come in a couple weeks. He also said he wasn't sure whether or not he could install a door because we had Corian panels inside in our shower, and he wasn't sure what type of Corian was installed and if it could be drilled into or not. He asked me to do research on it and let him know what I found. He said it might be better if I hired another company to install a shower door. (FYI - there is only ONE TYPE of Corian and it can be drilled into). The main reason I hired this company at the beginning is because Jonathan assured me his team installs Corian all the time and has done many Corian installations. I clearly know this wasn't true now. Therefore I contacted Jonathan to have his workers come back to clean up the job and finish the job right. It has now been a month since the job was "finished" and I have not been getting responses to my texts or calls from Jonathan. All in all, I will never be using this company again and regret hiring them in the first place. read more

I recently purchased my first home in Los Angeles, CA and set out to remodel it with a close family friend. Unfortunately, our friend was not up to date on the thousands of city codes that needed to be understood and followed in order for us to pass regular inspections. Because we were living in another home while this work was being done, we were losing money every day there was a delay. This is where Supreme Remodeling comes in to the picture. We interviewed about 5 general contractors and though Micky was not the least expensive, what he offered really fit our needs: someone to be 100% reliable for passing inspection and moving our work along quickly. He took over at the foundation stage and they had to clean up the mistakes of another team that came in to do our footing for the remodel. There were many other companies who refused to work with us in part because some work had already been done on the footing and some of it incorrectly. Micky and his team were willing to jump right in, correct mistakes and move forward without complaint! I think this flexibility is an important asset in a general contractor. Supreme is a solid company, with solid references and this is also why we chose to work with Micky and his team. I have called several times to have work that was completed rechecked and touched up and there has never been a question about it being done. Just as an example, I had to merge a new ceiling with an old one and there were several seams in the drywall that kept splitting on the ceiling. He had someone come out and patch and paint several times until it was done perfectly. I also trust that if the seams show up again, he will again honor his work. In hindsight, those guarantees are worth any additional money that Supreme might charge over its competitors. I took on a huge project by myself with very little experience and Micky was a genuine help to our overall design. In fact, we had a very old fashioned drop down ceiling in one room, which we intended to keep, even as we were taking out three walls to create an entirely open concept house. He gently suggested we make the ceilings line up and he was so right and his vision, even though we never asked for it, really created the house we had in mind the whole time. I am very grateful for these small things that in the end were huge in creating our new lovely home. Of course there were times, he was hard to get ahold of. Thank goodness he has a full office staff who always picked up the phone even though I must have called 10 times in the same day some days. He does celebrate holidays with family, so make note if you are rebuilding during the High Holy Days -- but even this in the end was a good thing and I'm glad he was able to balance his own life with the insanity of the construction business. I was not the easiest person to work with and Micky was patient, proficient and he got the job done. And one more thing before I forget, Micky never insisted in doing the "entire job" as some contractors will. My uncle did the tiling in both bathrooms for example and I used someone else to do my kitchen cabinets. My point is not to say these other guys were better -- they weren't -- but it is what we had and what we needed and Mickey never said a thing. I really appreciate that about his company. So many other contractors will insist on doing the project from start to finish. Mickey seemed ready and able to help where and when we needed it and to let go when we worked with someone else. He did this seamlessly and it was very much appreciated. I don't think this is that common. Mickey wants your home to look beautiful, he cares about his own integrity and he cares about the quality of work done under his name -- these are all so important in hiring someone to work on your home. I trust his work and I really rest easy knowing that if things do pop up, and they have, that his word means something. That's what you want and need when having people work on your home! This is a review for their initial consultation. Supreme Remodeling was one of the many GCs I've been reaching out to for an detached garage to an ADU conversion. For background, I wanted to convert a existing detached 2 car garage to a 2-story ADU, basically doubling the space (approx 600-700 SF). Yoan, the project manager, arrived at the house promptly at the planned time, with his mask below his nose. A red flag in the times of COVID, sure, but I wanted to get to the details of the work so I showed him the garage. He told me the process - bring in an architect and engineer, draw up the plans, submit for permits and wait 1-3 months. Cool - that's in line with what we've heard from our other GC contacts. I ask him ballpark estimate - and yes, I understand ballpark estimate is very much permeable and until we have plans it's just a number to get the conversation started. He quoted me $425K-$450K for the build. What?? He then tried to back into the pricing on his phone assuming $350/sf on an 800 sf ADU = which comes out to $280K by the way. Are you telling me that materials, permitting, plans is worth $170K?! I don't live in Beverly Hills. There aren't impact fees I'm paying for. What would I pay a $170K premium for? 3D drawings? Obviously we are not using this team - they are way off the mark. I think they saw me as a young woman who doesn't have a clue about construction and pricing and tried to take advantage. I'm sure they're fine to work with, but maybe don't try and fleece your potential customers. read more

Given the fact that we plan to move in less than two years, he does not recommend to spend the money. He was very upfront and honest about where I need to spend my money. He was very thorough and detail-orientated. He even gave me a contact to a real estate agent and financing company. He answered all my questions, and went above and beyond. I wasn't impressed. Simon came out, very poor interpersonal skills and basically told me I am cheap!! Keep in mind A.I. am not expecting to do a whole house renovation, my kitchen is 10 x10..... there is a tiny laundry area attached and I wanted to refinish the original hardwood floors (1000sq ft of floors) and add hardwood to the kitchen. He told me "it didn't make sense to have hardwood in the kitchen".....no rationale or alternative provided, then proceeded to tell me it would cost at least 70-80k do what I was askin If you aren't willing to spend at least 100k don't bother calling. I still don't understand how you can buy a whole house in other states and people want to charge these exorbitant prices for a Reno in California. It's disgusting. I would say most people in the construction industry are the most unscrupulous bunch!! See response below. You as the owner are clearly misinformed. I requested 3 things a full kitchen remodel to create and open concept with hardwood added to kitchen space to match existing hardwood throughout the rest of the home and bathroom Reno. Permits are required and a handyman is not able to complete. Simon did not offer any alternative to hardwood in the kitchen. Your persnickety nature of your comment below regarding living in California is another glaring example of your companies unprofessional nature. Our mission was to build a home that looked like it was originally built in the 1930's, as we are not fans of the look of new construction. Micky Kanian @ Supreme assured us that they could give it the charm of a much older home and they managed to pull it off. They incorporated antique tile, vintage salvaged doors, tongue&groove wood trim, etc, etc... They did a fantastic job and delivered the house on-budget (other than a few overages which we approved). I hired Supreme Remodeling to renovate my master bedroom that has not been touched since the 1970's. I could not be more pleased with how it turned out! The experience from start-to-finish was incredible, on time and most importantly, on budget! My wife and I hired Supreme Remodeling to remodel our two bathrooms and master bedroom. We interviewed four contractors before making a decision to go with Supreme. The most important factor was the price quickly followed by the authenticity and honesty displayed by the Supreme rep Micky. The estimate from Supreme was in the middle of the pack but on the lower end of the four quotes. During the interview process, two of the contractors didn't even mention potential costs for moving a wall and one of the contractors wanted to charge me for architecture and engineering right off the bat without knowing whether engineering would actually be needed. Micky was upfront about the potential for additional cost for moving the wall making sure we understood that he would do all he could to keep costs down and stick to his original estimate. Micky was also a great resource and helped identify a solution to a difficult design issue before being hired. Another important factor was Micky's ability to work with the needs of my family, which includes two toddlers. Whereas the other contractors required both bathrooms to be remodeled at the same time, Micky was willing to split the project into two phases so my family had access to one bathroom at all times. Early in the first phase, the County ultimately told us that new footings and a shear wall were needed for us to move the wall we wanted. Micky worked with us to get the needed engineering and architecture plans to move the project forward. The plans were 25% less than the price quoted to us by the contractor who wanted to get plans drawn before even knowing if they were needed. It was smooth sailing after that. Micky did a great job managing the project and his foreman and various workmen from each trade were professional and responsive to our requests. They followed my preferences for accessing the house and maintained a clean work area. In addition, Micky stayed in constant communication making sure I knew what to expect in the upcoming stages of the project. I spoke to him at least 4-5 times a week and texted regularly. When there were concerns, I relayed them to Micky and he addressed them immediately. The guest bathroom turned out amazing and I attribute that to Micky's commitment to working with us every step of the way. Micky did the final inspection with me and noted issues that even escaped my eye. His team quickly addressed them. Micky would not greenlight his team to start the second phase until my wife and I confirmed that everything in the first phase was to our liking and needs. The first phase was completed within the timeline Micky provided upon hire. Aside from the costs related to the load bearing wall, the first phase was completed within the budget we agreed to. We are in the middle of the second phase of our project, which includes remodeling the master bath, removing a traditional closet, and adding a walk-in closet. I cannot say enough good things about Supreme Remodeling! I met with Micky to get an estimate on Remodeling my kitchen. We were really worried about doing such a big project. We've done a few Remodeling projects in the past few years, but nothing this big. Micky answered all of our questions and put use at ease. We are blown away by our kitchen! The workers were so polite and professional. The day our kitchen was finished they brought a professional photographer and took beautiful pictures of it and gave us copies of everything framed as gift.
