When we arrived, it was a long line but it shortened pretty quickly. The guy at the front was super nice and was a boss at handling all the orders. We ordered a Philly with no Mayo, added peppers with a side of fries. The wait was about 25 mins and the food was piping hot. We immediately dug into the fries (after saying a quicker prayer of course) and was pleasantly surprised. They tasted like a better Micky D's fry! We instantly regretted not ordering 2. Since the ride home was long, we pulled over for a taste test. It was AMAZING! It was creamy. It was flavorful. It was meaty. It was nostalgic. My boyfriend doesn't normally eat dairy but he definitely took 3-4 big bites lol I rate it a 9.5 out of ten. I wish they used green bell peppers instead of red and the next time I'll add jalapeños or banana peppers for a 10/10 experience. This has definitely become a staple in our food rotation.

At this market, you will find a full variety of conventional and certified organic fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meat, poultry and eggs, artisan sweet and savory baked goods, fresh milk, butter, yogurt, goat/cow cheeses, fermented foods and pickles, jams, jellies and sauces, flowers, plants, handmade soaps, and more! You name it, this market has it all. One additional note to know...."It's a year-round" market! Unlike most farmer's markets in the area, where you are limited to summer-only and seasonal openings. The market is open only on Saturday mornings between the hours of 9am-1pm. Parking is available on the streets for free and parking meters are free as well on weekend. And, if it helps...all vendors accepts SNAP/Food Stamps and WIC. In all, lot's of great finds and a great way to connect with local farmers in/around the DC metropolitan area. It is definitely worth a visit. It's the perfect place to spend part of your Saturday morning on a nice day...and on the cheap.

And finally, there are some freshly prepared foods that make the co-op a destination store for me. Sushi. And those spicy samosas that are kept in the warmer near the soups. Especially the cabbage one! Apparently they are made by Zemen, the Ethiopian grocery on Maple, so you could also look for them there. That is the co-op the way I experience it. But it is waiting for you to discover your own - the possibilities are endless
