He later told me there are only 6 pet friendly rooms and how they normally let guest know this on the phone... well I called was given a rate and even checked in and was never told about this restriction.

That's the only positive, so let's start at the lobby area, the indoor pool that the sign outside claims front claims, yeah, that appears to be completely boarded up, after check in walk down the hall to the room, water damaged ceiling tile just laying on the floor where it fell, was still there on checkout. Now into the room, the mirror is dirty with streaks, but at least it looks like someone attempted to clean it in the not to distant past, bedside table has stains from cups or something that should've been an easy clean, but it was just left that way with what appears to be dried boogers wiped on the table next to it, there was an office chair next to the window with very questionable stains all over it, the window sill was rusty/dirty with some standing water, there was some kind of a stain on the wall ( maybe spit?) but I didn't take a picture of that. (First two visits included a mystery rag on the sink with "The Rag" written in black marker, but now there's a sign with its backstory) Apparently it's a Midwestern tradition for some hotels to designate old rags for reuse, instead of trashing them when there's some utility left. With that said... Every time I've stayed here, it's been a good deal. The rooms come with a fridge and microwave, the rooms have been recently renovated and the beds are fine. However, there's been a problem with bugs and/or flies each time. I understand it's summer, but these rooms seem to attract them. Also, the was no hot water with my most recent stay, as it was only marginally warm. 3-stars for being cheap and the fact that the staff are friendly...

This motel does not look like much on the outside, but the staff is very helpful and friendly, the…read morerooms are spotless, and the price is inexpensive. The retro 60's decor is cool. The area is very quiet. They have free coffee. This is my second stay here and everything (hot water, air conditioner, tv, mini fridge) worked fine both times. The mattresses are very firm, which I prefer. Did I mention that it's inexpensive? Had to mark them down after my second night. The pillows were rock hard. I asked if I could switch them out and got little response from the front desk staff. Eventually, I asked the cleaning staff for a switch (seriously, the pillows were awful) and she was really helpful. Also, the office closes at some point at night and doesn't open again until seven.
