What a great little find in sleepy Cameron. Close to freeway, inexpensive and recently renovated. My room was spotless and everything worked well. There was some noise from time to time from The vending machine and ice maker, but my room was close to them so to be expected. A hidden gem of a place! What a steal of a place! Inexpensive. Clean and with 'crisp' bed sheets. Comfortable beds and pillows. Although the building itself was likely older they've taken good care of it and I saw no noticeable flaws in the room like I normally do in older places. Friendly staff. The breakfast was modest but quite acceptable: hot waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Limited selection of rolls and bread, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, cereal, juice. If you are looking for a 'nice' breakfast spread this is not it, but if you are ok with a simple, modest breakfast, this fits the bill. The coffee seemed a bit weak but I saw them make it with a full bag of coffee for the pot (I think I'm just use to a stronger version when I make it myself at home.) It's about 1 mile west of I-35 and well worth that mile. It was $65 for a King, or $75 for 2 queens. Then 10% off that if you have one of: AARP, AAA, military veteran, etc. They also allow you to have up to 2 pets with you AT NO CHARGE!!! As we were traveling with 2 small dogs, that was huge! That said we did NOT hear any one else's dog nor any one else for that matter (so I don't think their walls were paper thin which is great!) This is a five star based on what we got, for what we paid. Great value. Was it perfect? No, but close to it, and we've gotten much worse at other places we've paid much more for. We would gladly return to this place again. My biggest suggestion for improvement: have it so the room fan can run non-stop (on) with the heat or cool mode so that the room can have non-stop white noise. Well with the stop. read more

Stopped here last night on my way to go hunting it's really clean and the gentleman at the front desk was very polite and helpful. It comes with continental breakfast which I can't review I'm just a coffee guy in the morning but seen plenty of people down there eating. Assuming three stars is your average budget hotel, this one was a Four. Great little budget road trip type of hotel w/out a lot of frills. Love that they allow dogs w no extra fees. Also thought that the travel size packets of Kleenex's were a clever take-away and branding moment. Only thing that kept it from a five was that it could use some updating. Staff: no complaints. Nice and courteous. Cleanliness: passed the deal breaker bed bug test w no bed bugs. Overall neat and tidy. Also appreciated that the rooms and hallways were truly smoke free. Comfort: beds were comfy. Would have been nice if fan on a/c and heater ran non-stop vs shutting on and off. That said the thermostat worked and we were able to get our optimal temp. It wasn't very noisy so it was easy to sleep through it kicking on and off. Quiet: it was a very quiet hotel. That said, we only stayed 1 night and came in at 11pm and left at 9am Breakfast: worked for me. Nothing to write home about but also nothing to complain about either. read more

UPDATE: DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A BABY! MY INFANT SPIT UP ON THE COMFORTER AND WE WERE CHARGED $100 BECAUSE APPARENTLY HIS SPIT UP SOAKED INTO THE MATTRESS (this doesn't happen at our house so I'm curious as to how it did this here) We stayed here for a week while my husband was doing a job. We stayed on the first floor and we parked directly in front of the window to our room. A guy followed my husband in his car watched him park then proceeded to get and walk to him and informed us that we needed to turn our truck around (my husband backed in) because there was several complaints about truck fumes going into the building. First off, we aren't the only truck backed in towards the window. And second off we've only moved our truck twice at the point in time. We never sat in it with it running. We cranked and drove off. We went to extend our stay and week and we were told that they couldn't do that until our room was serviced because we didn't do room service the week we were here. (keep in mind, I have an infant and a dog) I placed the trash cans outside our room door when they got full. I will NOT stay here again nor will I recommend this place. We've stayed at multiple hotels and have done the same at them as well and never had an issue. Other than that.. the room was clean but horrible customer service. read more

We were driving across country and got held up for three hours on the highway due to a bad accident. We planned to drive further but were too tired so started looking for a room in Cameron. We stopped at several that were not pet friendly (we had our dogs with us) and one of those hotels directed us to Red Roof Inn. We have never stayed at a Red Roof Inn so did not know what to expect. We arrived at 2:30 in the morning (due to that bad accident that closed the highway) and the owner/manager(?) who assisted us with check in was very polite and professional despite the hour. And, BONUS - there was no extra charge for the dogs!. We went to our assigned room and were surprised and impressed by the cleanliness and size of the room. It was a first floor room which made it easy to get the dogs in and out. There was ample area to walk the dogs on the property. There was a complimentary breakfast in the morning but we did not check that out. If the room is any indication, the breakfast was probably very nice as well. The lady who was at the front desk when we checked out in the morning was very sweet. This entire experience was totally enjoyable. I highly recommend visiting this hotel if you are ever in the area - especially if you are traveling with pets. It is CLEAN, friendly, accommodating and a complete delight. read more

Room is just OK, what I would expect as a minimum in any hotel. There are no elevators here and this fact only appears in the fine print at the bottom of amenities a couple links in. Couple this with being put on the 3rd floor and needing to drag my suitcases up the stairs made this am unpleasant experience. I booked through room through Expedia. We stayed here on our way to Kansas City. The rooms have been remodeled. Very small hotel but super nice. Even though it was almost full it was very quiet. We had a king size bed. The bathrooms are very nice too. Breakfast was good, enough to eat. We stayed on the ground floor which was nice in the fall as the pool was closed, probably be noisy if it was summer. Just impressed they had a small pool. The lady who ran the place was very pleasant and nice. We stayed in the best western the night after, but I much preferred this little place. read more
