We happened to get one of their taxis when we got off the train and used them throughout our trip. We never had to wait more than ten minutes for a car when we called, but it was the off season. Our drivers were always friendly and willing to give some tips on places to go in town. read more

My friends and I reserved a taxi to make a 7am train from Montauk to the city. We checked no fewer than 3x to confirm the taxi would be there. Twenty minutes before the train, the taxi was nowhere in sight. We called the company and it went straight to voicemail. A few minutes later, a dispatcher finally picked up and claimed we didn't have a reservation. He said he would send someone but was not reassuring that someone would be there in time. Ten minutes before the train, no one was there. Coincidentally a driver sped past us en route to another customer. We flagged him down and he picked us up. His boss was screaming at him on the radio, telling him he shouldn't have picked us up and someone else would be there for us. The nice driver turned off the radio, said his coworker never would've made it on time and wasn't even on his way. We made the train with one minute to spare. Bottom line -- NEVER rely on this taxi company to show up on time. Completely flaky and unapologetic and rude to boot. read more

Literally got the yelp app so I could post this review; We took a cab from Montauk to Lunch (on the Montauk Highway)- the driver texted and drove the whole ride and was incredibly rude. The ride cost $35, which is insanity and completely ripping us off (they didn't have a meter in their car, and for $30 we would have filled up our own gas tank in our car and driven 3 hours to Manhattan. The next day we tried their service again, figuring our previous experience was a fluke. We called a cab but several minutes later a friend picked us up because the cab which allegedly was supposed to take 5 min didn't show up for about 20. About 10 min after we had arrived at our destination I get a call from surf taxi asking where we were, I let him know we found other means of transportation because we could not wait forever. He proceeded to say, "Well next time don't call a f*cking taxi" and hung up the phone. I was honestly so disgusted by his rudeness and lack of class slash respect. What kind of person speaks to someone like that over the phone, yet alone a business owner? Bottom line- DO NOT call them for a taxi ride, even if you are desperate- hitchhiking would be the safer bet (and that's saying something). read more

My fiancé and I called Surf Taxi and asked for a taxi in 45 minutes. They were right on time. Our driver was Kelvin. He was hilarious and chatted with us our whole drive (which we love, some people don't). We liked him so much we requested him to pick us up after dinner too, and he was there quickly. Don't use this guy. He is completely scam taxi. He always say "Don't worry, Trust me, I can make it". Finally he tried to kill us including 6 month's baby. Today, I called him around 6:20AM and He said coming 6:45AM. It should be OK if he come around 6:45AM to get the train for 7AM. Finally he came 6:58AM. And he said the train should leave after 7AM so it would be OK. And we got Montauk station at 7:03AM. And we ran to train but train left at the time. And in same time he left from station with my money. It was rainy and windy and we were wet. Actuary we have 6month's old baby. Of course I called him to come back here to bring us our hotel to get next train. He said "I don't have any fault and I dropped you guys at 7AM" "But I will come back in few minutes" And finally he never show up in 30 minutes.... My baby was wet and my wife and I were wet also. There was no to make warm my baby and she was crying so much. And I called another company and they came to pick us and came back to hotel now. There were so many bad things that he did 1) He came 6:58AM even though he said to come 6:45Am 2) We called him several times and he was saying "I was almost there" 3) We felt very dangerous when he drive from hotel to Montauk station. 4) He brought us Montauk station and dropped off in hard rain situation at 7:03AM. 5) At the time train left slowly and in same time, he left us even though we are very wet. 6) He doesn't care about he left us (including 6 month's baby) were wet in windy at the station. 7) I called him to pick us up because we were very wet and my baby getting cold. You know it should be high risk of health even baby left in very cold and rainy outside. However, he said coming back soon but he never show up. I strongly felt he didn't care about my baby was dying or not. Actuary I love beautiful Montauk but I am so sad this kind of person is working as scam taxi in this city. read more

So i went to Montalk in holiday and almost all shops and restaurants are closed. The worse is, the train changed schedule according to the holiday plan. By the time I call Surf Taxi, the train was just leave. So i need to wait in the cold day for almost two hours! And then Leo from Surf Taxi, who company me for the whole time. He is really well service and caring to customers. I would definitely call him next time. RECOMMENDED. read more

I called to make a reservation for the 7AM train to go back to the city. The dispatcher was very nice and ensured that the taxi would be on time to pick us up. The taxi showed up right on time the driver was very nice as well. Definitely will be using them again and would be recommending them as well read more
