While in the Gold Coast, we stumbled upon Surfers Sandbar. It's a large restaurant situated across the street from the beach with both inside and outside seating. We visited for both breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, we ordered the BLAT, which is a bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato sandwich, which came with hash brown cakes. It was very good. The eggs Benedict plate was equally delicious. For lunch, we had the fish and chips and prawns (shrimp) tacos. The fish and chips were the star of this meal. Regarding the service, you can order from a QR code or from the counter. All of the employees were friendly and attentive. read more

Right across from the beach you'll find Sandbar. You seat yourself, order and pay right on your phone, so that is easy. If you have a question or need any substitutions, it can be a little hard to find someone to help. If you're just there for drinks then it's an easy set up. Plenty of outside comfortable seating to get a view, as well as a bar and inside seats with some arcade games. Food and drinks were pretty good. read more

Had a chance to visit this cute place when going to the Gold Coast, specifically Surfers Paradise. This is a cool spot super near the beach and if you want a nice hearty meal this is a nice spot. They have American food here with a variety of options. You order and pay for your food using a QR code and the food comes once you order it on your phone which is nice. For food we ordered: * Chicken Parm - this is a HUGE dish, and this is a big piece of crispy chicken with ham and cheese. This also came with fries as well as a salad which was nice. This could definitely be shared with two people * Spaghetti with Garlic Bread - we got this kids menu style to accompany the chicken parm which was nice. This went well together and was quite flavorful. Garlic bread however was a little soft and should have been crispier. Overall, food was hearty - but would say average! read more

Just grabbing a quick drink in the bar area. My first time seeing Goldcoast QLD and I just wanted to Yelp a place near the ocean. A coastal beach Hamptons-type of scene. The decor is all wicker lampshades, bamboo ceilings, nautical murals on the walls, and dried grass hanging from the ceiling. Cocktails are in the $20-22 range (typical for touristy beach places). They serve green smoothies and tea but unfortunately in the evening you can't order those drinks as it is just for breakfast. The bar service was ok although the bartender Lach Lann seemed to be a bit out of it when I asked him questions about the drink menu. I also ordered a lime and bitters which he made and just set down. I had to remind me to ring me up. Maybe he was having a long day. The music and vibes are really chill. Nice place. First off let's talk location, great location right off the main beach row. It was easy to get to from my hotel (mantra crown towers) and close to the main area for shops and other food. The wait staff were good but pretty busy, they seemed a bit over whelmed which was odd because my trip was in winter so it's the slow time. The seating was nice in general but not super comfortable. Over all it was a good eating experience though. Now for food, I've had a few of these bowls at different places and this was pretty traditional but that's a good thing. It was well done, everything was presented well, was fresh and tasted good. My traveling buddy had eggs Benedict and that was a bit of a miss. Not bad but not great I was told. Prices were reasonable for the area, about what I would expect. Over all I would eat there again if and when I'm back in the area. read more

Great place to relax eat/drink while staying close to the beach. Highly recommend getting the smoothie bowl. They're are refreshing as. Quite filling on their own. The burgers were good as well. Had both the fish one and the chorizo one. I would recommend the chorizo one more. A mouthful of savory flavors. Ambience is what makes this place great. Great view of the beach from the outside seating. Relaxed vibes. Perfect for a nice afternoon in GC. Price is mid range. Expect to pay about 15-20 per burger and smoothie bowl is 14$. read more

A beautiful breakfast spot overlooking the ocean right by Surfer's Paradise Beach. We stumbled upon this place during our early morning walk by the beach. There are a lot of tourists here (I was obviously one of them). Even early in the morning there are a lot of people eating, swimming, and walking around the area. I love the Brazilian acai bowl here. It was filling and refreshing. A good option if you want a lighter meal and you don't want eggs for breakfast. It takes a while for them to bring your food but that might be part of the laid back lifestyle here. read more

Such a sweet little cafe right on the beach. Amazing coffee. Also, the best servers I've had in the week I've spent in Surfers Paradise. Had the Benny with mushrooms and it was delightful. The good is amazing affordable for how good it is. Try the Black Hops beer when you go. They have canned selections and tap. Can't wait to go back. read more

Great location with beautiful sea view. So relaxing and comfy place to stay in the afternoon with friends. The tap beer is highly recommended and the food is pretty good. The staff are friendly but just not interested. I should complain about the staff's speaking speed as a foreign in Gold Coast. I can't catch half of the words :(. The slow food serving is really annoying as well. I waited for extremely long time. read more

We loved this place so much we came back twice. When you walk in you can either choose the cafe option or the breakfast buffet - we went straight to the buffet twice because it was so worth it. It's not a massive range of food by any means - it was just enough. You get your usual eggs and toast and sausages etc, cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt. There's also a few coffee machines with buttons which were amazing for instant coffee gratification. The outdoor dining area was perfect for people watching as well. read more

This restaurant was definitely one of the highlights to my trip to the Gold Coast. So good that we came back twice on the same day. Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time for the breakfast buffet that's $15AU per person aka heaven. Instead we came for brunch and it was decently priced and tasted great! To my friend and I's surprise, it wasn't crowded even though we came on a weekend at prime lunch time. The restaurant was huge and spacious. The outdoor seating was a must. The service is also phenomenal. So good we came back for dinner. The dinner menu was delicious and well priced again. The drinks menu was extensive and affordable compared to surrounding bars/restaurants. The drinks were delicious! First I got a moscow mule and chased it down with a midori bliss. Best choice. The nachos were phenomenal and my friend enjoyed her steak burger. We wish we found out about this place sooner on our trip! Would've saved us a lot money. Oh and I also bonded with the server who helped us earlier that day. She too was a fellow Californian and she was great. Absolutely in love with this restaurant! This is the brunch business! A lovely high quality beachy cafe which has a great menu with something for everyone. Yeah ok it's trendy for a cafe (not saying that's a bad thing) & the food is bang on. Thoroughly enjoyed my smoked salmon eggs benedict type dish and what I really wanted to do was order everything off the menu! Heck, My green smoothie was tops. Came through with the coffee too. Just went here today with my Dad. I am a coeliac (severely intolerant to gluten) just to start off. The menu said that there was a gluten free option for the fish and chips. I was told it was fish and a different kind of chips. It was tasteless grilled fish and badly boiled potatoes. Not chips, potatoes. The service was awful and it took 40 minutes, the bill ended up being almost $50 for 2 meals. One of which could've been cooked by a child. The one star is for its good location. Wouldn't recommend, especially if you have dietary restrictions. read more

Walked by this place and decided to stop in for a quick eat and was not disappointed! Love the ambiance and lay out, it's got a beachy nautical vibe. It's a really spacious spot with an upscale look but really reasonable prices which really impressed me. Sat at a chill spot overlooking the ocean. The coffee was pretty good but the food was the best part! We got the Kauai poke bowl and the Lembongan smoothie bowl to share, both were awesome! So flavorful and just the right portion size (definitely filling). Really loved this find and will definitely return to try more of their dishes! read more

Been coming to Sandbar since 2011 and it just gets better and better. Absolutely loving the new renovation, new menu and the new lounge area. Trendy but beachy vibe that you can't find anywhere else in surfers. Great food, cocktails atmosphere and service! And amazing location right across from the beach. Love going for lunch and afternoon drinks or for a light dinner and drinks before going out. read more
