Recently I had to escort my father here for surgery. I had never been here myself and it was a first for both of us. He had a ton of paperwork of do's and don't which I had to review. We are both very punctual and since prep was involved wanted to make sure we were on time. We arrived a few minutes early as the paper wanted us there by 6 am. The parking lot is not lit at all at that time of the day and very isolated. We were the only ones there. The area is surrounded by retailers who are also not open so I didn't appreciate sitting there in the dark. Had I been alone I would have been alarmed by this. The elderly have a tendency to have to go to the bathroom.... a lot. Toppled with nerves about the upcoming procedure this was magnified. He also has mobility issues and is not fast. Getting in and out of the car is a problem and it wasn't an option to drive somewhere else and be on time. So we sat, uncomfortably. A few minutes after 6 am the first employee arrived, than another, and another. We watched them park, fully aware that they see us waiting there, now standing outside by the time a third arrived on a very, very cold and windy morning. They turned the lights on inside. We waited by the door expecting them to unlock soon. Another 5 minutes pass. The doors are still locked. By now I'm peeping in the windows as the situation was becoming urgent. No one could be seen. I even started hitting the window as my dad was now severely uncomfortable. A few more minutes and someone finally opened the doors. There was no acknowledgement that we were on time and they were in fact late. If you tell your patients to come promptly at 6 one would think that staff would arrive beforehand to have everything set up. It was 6:15 or so till we finally got inside and my father was able to relieve himself. Than the wait began. We were the first patient but patients coming in afterwards were called back beforehand. Was the doctor late? When we were called back the nurse took his vitals and did prep. It was more of a waiting game "for the doctor to come and talk to you" per the nurse. So the doctor WAS late! The presurgical nurse was a Godsend with my dad. Her bedside manner was on point. He was very anxious and her presence was very calming to him. She didn't mind that he had to get up constantly to use the facilities nor seemed the slightest bit irritated by his slow mobility. The doctor was dry and to the point. I didn't care for him at all but my dad thinks he's great and "very knowledgeable". The place was spotless as it should be. During aftercare he was cared for by three different nurses. One was overly sweet and spoke to us like we were children, the second was ok, the third seemed annoyed by my medication questions. He was on several different scripts to be administered at different times and doses + had a follow up appt with instructions. I wanted to make sure I fully understood since I was the one handling his care. She was short with her responses and acted like I was stupid. Not the most professional impression. I have no idea if they called him directly at any time after the surgery for a wellness check, but I would think that would be customary. While the experience wasn't horrible I do think they need to be mindful of timing and some of the staff needs to be more patient and compassionate, especially when dealing with elderly patients. read more

Stay away from this place if you can help it. I paid a certain amount up front which was supposed to be the amount I'd owe after insurance. Well after getting many large bills and disputing some things, I called in to get the payoff and paid it. Now I'm getting more bills in the mail, I called in and explained the situation and that I called in for the specific amount and paid it. My youngest son had his tonsils and adnoids removed this past week.  Prior to surgery the lady in the scheduling office called me with dates and was so nice answered all my questions. Everyone at the surgery center was phenomenal, I apologize I didn't get names but wish I had.  All the nurses and anyone helping us pre and post surgery were very thorough and helpful.  They asked multiple times if we had any questions any time they went over information.  Surgery was pretty quick and my son had very little pain. read more
