I called around to see which doctor accepted the insurance that I have. These folks at Dr. Wangs office said SURE! we accept that- come on over. BEFORE the eye exam an assistant saw that I clearly needed glasses from all the tape and wire that I had holding these completely visibly scratched lenses in place and said so in a joke( that was fine- no worries there)She immediately; before any work was performed, went into the SAME spin that I received over the phone-"no problem"-something along the lines of " we send it in and if they don't cover it-not to worry- they will just bill us $30 that I would have to pay" That was the same thing that the original person on the phone said which is why I chose that office. Exam was just fine by Dr. Wang but I figured I would then just go and pick out some new frames. Sure I expected them to be the lower end product but NO, the optometrist on site looked at me like I was crazy. I recited what I was told and he even went back to the assistant who sold this line to me and she DENIED it. I went home with no glasses. I used the companies website and Dr. Wang's email to express this so that an OBVIOUS adjustment could be made in the way they handle business but she did not see fit to respond after two out reaches. I wish our schedules lined up more, especially on the weekends, but otherwise, I do not have a complaint in the world. It's a restorative practice opposed to some other studios that I have gone to. After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.
