Susan & her team were awesome! I hired Susan to do my wedding photography and videography and i am so happy with her services. Susan has such a fun personality and she made me feel really comfortable with the entire process. The pictures turned out amazing!!! They were such high quality and you can tell she really knew her angles. She also instructed me on how to pose and helped coordinate all of the different pictures/ family photos i wanted. Married on October 8, 2016. We purchased an upgraded package with several inclusions that we have never received. Susan still owes us a framed engagement picture, framed wedding picture, and wedding album. I have contacted her more times than I can count and receive either excuses or promises of receiving it in the future and never do. We were married in October and our pictures were not even uploaded until after Christmas. She didn't finish our edits until the following July. I am very understanding to health and life problems occurring, but there comes a point where you should make it right if you are incapable of upholding your end of the contract. I would not and do not recommend using her for photography due to her unprofessionalism, lack of timeliness, and for not receiving what we paid for. I have been hesitant to leave an honest review until I received everything I paid for, but after 20 months of waiting I've given up. Please save yourself stress, worry, and tears and do not use Susan Gilbert Photography, ESPECIALLY on one of the most important times of your life. read more

First impressions, Susan appears very sincere and kind. Taking out of the equation her lack of punctuality, you leave the initial meet and greet with no reason to doubt her professionalism. After reviewing proofs from your photoshoots, you'll see that Susan has a gift for talent and surprisingly at a price point that appears to be the lowest in the industry. The nightmare begins once you ask to see the finished product, i.e. edited photos and/ or albums. Overall, collaborating with Susan was extremely laborious. She was late to our initial meeting, the engagement shoot, and my boudoir shoot. I chose to consider her lack of punctuality as a minor offense, as long as she was present and timely for the wedding day - which she accomplished to do. After the wedding had concluded, Susan displayed behaviors and a lack of follow through as if her contracted services were finished. She possessed no urgency to meet any deadlines. Contacting Susan by phone call becomes nonexistent and text messages are often returned with multi-day delayed responses. Only exception is when she responds with abrupt and bad-mannered messages filled with anger. My initial wedding photos were promised within 6 weeks, but were delivered after 3 months. My wedding album was promised within 10 weeks from selecting the desired images. The wedding album should have been completed by the end of 2016 at the very latest, however it has yet to be delivered or even processed. Today officially marks 1 year from my wedding day. I've contacted Susan's vendor, MpixPRO, they stated orders take 24 - 48 hours to print and are delivered overnight. Susan knows no level of any accountability, she has filled every empty promise regarding my wedding album with excuses and delays refusing to accept any fault. The delays are never ending, they are stretched out over a period of months. Shockingly, one explanation materialized from her inability to properly manage operating funds of her business. For her services, I paid in advance. Yet I have documented proof that Susan informed me at one point that she was unable to submit the order due to a lack of funds. Furthermore, she expressed that she would attempt to borrow the funds, however I concluded she was unsuccessful due to have never receiving the product. Upon further research, I've found that the absence of wedding albums appears to be a common theme with Susan. I am writing this review and filing my complaint to forewarn future clients about her lack of service. It has been the most tiresome and heartbreaking process, I want to prevent any and all from being mislead as tragically as I already have been. Absolutely HORRIBLE! My husband and I hired Susan Gilbert in 2015 for our wedding in 2016. To start off we signed her contract and mailed it to her and when we asked for a hard copy with her signature it was never provided. Susan was over an hour late for our engagement session and this trend continued through my bridals an onto our wedding day. As stated in our contract we were supposed to receive a guest book PRIOR to the wedding for use at our bridal/couples shower as well as a framed engagement portrait both of which were delivered the day of our wedding roughly an hour before the ceremony. It has been 2 years since our wedding and we still do not have everything we paid for. Since our wedding we have called, texted and emailed Susan about our photos and we have been ignored and those very few times we have managed to get her on the phone we have been met with nothing but excuses. The photos taken on our wedding day are low quality and the majority of them are blurry and out of focus. The secondary photographer that was there that day left the ceremony WITHOUT giving Susan the flash drive which should have NEVER happened. Roughly 4 months ago we managed to get ahold of Susan about our wedding album that she had supposedly mailed out over a year ago which conveniently we never received so she had to draft a "new" one. The draft she sent us my husband's name was incorrect.. We brought this to her attention and she stated that she had already sent it to the printer and she would have to pay to get it corrected. After going back and fourth with her the correction was made and we received our album roughly two weeks later. Much to our dismay the photos in our album were NOT what we selected and blurry. Also stated in our contract we were supposed to receive a flash drive with ALL images Susan had taken of my husband and I and SHOCKER we still do not have this either. We have asked multiple times for our flash drive and it has been "lost" in the mail. My husband and I are completely heart broken with the way we have been treated and ignored by Susan. For anybody that is considering using Susan Gilbert photography.. DON'T DO IT. Yes, you might like her pictures, but it is not worth dealing with all of the lies and BS that she puts you through. Planning a wedding is already stressful in itself and having a photographer( one of the most important parts of a wedding for a lot of women) that is not professional and only cares about herself is not what anyone needs/deserves. I have had nothing but problems with Susan. She ALWAYS had an excuse (or lie) for why something that we paid for didn't go as planned. She will fight you on everything and say why she is always right. After the fact, she tells you she will make up for it and then completely stops talking to you. There's no way you can get a hold of her. All I wanted were my edited wedding photos and It took me almost a year to get them after we had to get a lawyer. After I got my photos and wedding album I was very disappointed with them. It looks like she ran it through an automated editor and is extremely edited and some people don't even look like themselves!! I am a very unhappy costumer and am trying to help all of the happily engaged women from making this horrible mistake I made. read more

If I had to describe Susan in one word it would be late. I was the maid of honor in my sisters wedding. There were many problems and red flags after the engagement shoot and we should have switched photographers then. She has a big personality and it just did not mesh well with ours. My sister was an extremely laid back bride. Beginning on the wedding day Susan was extremely late (I can't remember exactly how long). She completely missed the "getting ready" period, which was not short by any means. Once she did finally arrive she made everything seem rushed. She created an atmosphere of stress which was not there before. She did not work around us. WE worked around HER. Although her pictures are beautiful it is not worth the hassle. Every email reply was accompanied with an excuse. She leaves TONS of wiggle room in the contract. It has now been 10 weeks and 3 days since we picked what prints we want in the book. The contract states that it takes 6-10 weeks to arrive. After receiving an excuse about the her husband having the flu and being hospitalized (when at the wedding she talked about being a single mom) we were told it will be another week. What an artist! Susan photographed me when I was 7 months pregnant for a pregnancy shoot. I really wanted to have pictures but was nervous because I literally felt like a fat whale. She made me feel so comfortable! I am not so artistically gifted nor am I photogenic but she coached me the entire way from options of what to wear/how to be styled and how to actually position myself for the photos. It was windy that day (we were outside) and she worked with that as well which could not have been easy. She took numerous photos to choose from and I am absolutely thrilled with the results.
