That alone was worth seeing him for! He did a fantastic job on my surgery, took the time to speak to me and my husband prior and answer questions. He had poor bedside manners. He belittled other doctors and he undermined my genuine concern. I asked him if he would be doing my surgery in entirety by himself or if there are residents/trainees involved since I do not wish the residents or fellows to do any surgery on me. I understand teaching hospital and I understand training but in this particular surgery I did not wish trainees to work on me. I am scared of robots and it's personal. He could have said sorry my trainees depend on me to teach them and all patients of mine have trainees experience. I would have said thank you but no thanks and left. But instead he started using cutting remarks and mocking my intelligence as well as my concern.He said " residents come and go. It's not that I would leave to have tea with one of your colleagues while residents are doing surgery ". All I wanted was him to tell me if it was possible to not have any trainee at the console of da Vinci robot during the length of the surgery because I as a patient am not comfortable otherwise. Was I asking for too much? And he could have said no and we would have parted ways and I would look for another surgeon. But he had to be sarcastic and demeaning.

Dr Davis said he didn't know what was wrong with my knee and just wanted to put me on pain meds. He then charged my over $500 for a 10 minute visit where he showed zero curiosity or empathy. I'm so sick of the Michigan orthopedic doctors who only want to perform expensive surgeries, then get you into expensive PT that doesn't work and when things aren't progressing put you on pain meds. (Adding IV fluids usually helps with that.) I had Arthritis in my right knee. It is now getting worse and pretty painful. However, I'm worried about not being able to find a good Doctor to do a knee replacement. If given exercises, I could probably do the PT at home. I did that with my left shoulder replacement last year and it was a great success. Looking for someone to fit the bill.

On October 9, 2020. I had surgery a second time; this time an attempt was made to correct scarring and the excess skin. The picture is of the right breast. Dr Sosa said that he could further correct the issue and convinced me to have liposuction on my back, as well. I had surgery a third time in February 2022. I explained to her I would like to keep my appointment as it was 9 15 and I was unsure how the traffic would move, she began to scream at me about how she wasn't going to compromise Dr sosas schedule which I clearly wasn't expecting anyone to do. I simply was trying to explain that i would like to continue to try and come and if it was getting too close I would then cancel. While she was screaming at me she also said he needed to be out of the office by 10 15, I asked why she would schedule me for 10 if he needed to be out by 10 15 which she proceeded to stumble out a response that made no sense. I'm sure he does great work but his staff just cost a loss of about 20k, extremely unprofessional and rude! I've since taken my business to Ann Arbor plastic surgery which has been much more pleasant!

Dr Mackey was very kind, knowledgeable, personable and caring, took a lot of time with me and I actually now have a different prognosis and treatment plan from him. The other surgeon wanted to perform surgery which it turns out is not only not necessary but was wrong. He never shared my x-ray with me or answered any of my questions or concerns. He said I had arthritis which it turns out was incorrect, I do not have arthritis or need surgery, just some inflammation which can be treated without invasive intervention. I would highly recommend Dr Mackey to anyone without any reservation. He is a wonderful doctor and his entire staff treated me with respect & caring.
