I contacted Susan when we got our pre-approval from our lender. Everything I read online said to get your own buyer's agent, and do not forego the home inspection. First-time homebuyer, so I researched EVERYTHING. We were house hunting when PG&E started the pre-emptive power outages to prevent wildfires. Susan met me with when no one had power on. We sat by the window and she listened to all of my requests, asking clarifying questions as we went. She asked questions about what's important to our family, what do the kids like, etc, and really wanted to know who we are so she could find us the best fit. Susan helped us through the entire process. I would drive by properties I thought we might like, and if the neighborhoods were ok and house looked decent, I'd ask her to set up a viewing. Her schedule was incredibly accommodating since we were considering houses from Pollock Pines all the way to West Sac, and from Cool down to Elk Grove. Lots of driving involved in our search. What I appreciated most of all working with Susan was her knowledge. She KNOWS houses. She noticed every little detail, noted how the roofs looked, where repair work had been done on the walls (I couldn't even tell it was there!), how windows and doors were installed. I had checklists and pages of questions that I wanted answered before taking the next steps. She ensured I got all the answers. No disclosure was missed, all inspection reports were completed, and she ensured our rights were protected in the event anything went sideways. She was kind and patient with me, and managed my expectations; even calling me out when I got lost in the housing rabbit hole and started looking at places outside our price range or at lots that were much smaller than what I originally discussed with her. Susan Wise just sold our property at 2409 Tolowa Trail in Placerville. Throughout the whole process, Susan was the consummate professional -- skillful, knowledgeable, practical. To start with, she came up with an excellent valuation of our property which indicated to us that she really appreciated its unique qualities. More impressive yet, was when the appraiser's estimate for the property came in spot on! Before listing the property, Susan went way above and beyond -- she spent a lot of time doing some deep cleaning. She even added drawer and cabinet pulls in the kitchen to give it a more modern look.
