Bruce Lee is, in my opinion, the best place to get sushi in Auckland. They've got four locations at…read morethe moment, and I frequented the Newmarket branch often, but Manukau is a little closer to home. Their flavours are delicious, filling and great value for money. You can buy ready-made sushi at the counter, but they've got a great made-to-order menu which has tonnes of variety and some combinations you may never even have thought of. The best part about the menu is that they make it on the spot so you know it'll be fresh. The wait is usually about 10 minutes depending on how busy they are, but I can confidently say that its worth it. The Crazy Chicken is probably one of the most popular options available and is has their deliciious creamy bake sauce on top, a guilty pleasure of mine. The Heaven Rolls and the Crunch Roll are in my top 5 although its hard to choose a favourite! They do come in big portions so if you're like me and rarely finish an entire meal, it could be a good idea to get share with a friend- otherwise they do halves for you if you don't want a whole portion! Bruce Lee have this great wall of people who have taken photos during their visits, including famous New Zealanders who pop in (Sonny Bill, Manu Vatuvei and mayor Len Brown, who has his own 'Super City Roll' to name a few!), so its great to browse over while waiting for your meal. My only gripe with Bruce Lee is that they're not open long enough! I hope they consider an all-day, everyday scheme at some point.

They have ample seating for diners so they can accommodate a lot of people and groups would enjoy the spacious layout here. Its located right next to the Amersham Way entrance to Westfield Manukau so there's tonnes of free parking if you're stopping by for a meal before a spot of shopping- nice and convenient! Their miso soup is delicious. I've become accustomed to miso over the past couple of years and Kyoto does one of my favourites. I've tried their katsu and it tastes great; its perfect for someone like me who's not quite ready to go all the way with ramen or anything too out of my element. They also have a good range of entrees, and I'm a little obsessed with their snow peas. Prices at Kyoto are pretty reasonable and you can get a dinner for two with drinks for about $50-$60.

Sashimi - never arrived so can't comment. Service - friendly but oh so slow and in a restaurant that was far from full. Overall very disappointing and not crying out for a repeat visit but as always I'll give it at least one more try just to be sure.
