We popped in just before the lunch rush while passing through on a road trip. The tables remind me of a French cafe. The staff was patient and so kind as I was fumbling through our order due to outdated Yelp menu. The food was good, a welcomed respite from the fried & fast food road fare. We travel a lot and I'm always seeking out local cafés away from national chain restaurants. Many times they are gems and many times they are not. We arrived at 12:30 and found the two soup specials were already sold out. Chicken and dumplings seemed to be a staple every day and it was not sold out, so I ordered that. My husband ordered half a sandwich and half a salad. The chicken and dumplings, although good had canned chicken. My husband's sandwich was very good, and later learned it was a deluxe. The salad was nothing special mostly lettuce. It was frustrating trying to figure out the cost on the bill, and drink costs are not listed. The tea was very good. I did notice they catered more to the locals. It was ok, but I wouldn't stop again on my way through, and we go through a lot. It was a mixed bag with some of it being good and some not good for the price. read more

Lovely place downtown. Quiche and salad was a great meal, as was the grilled chicken salad with strawberries. But the desserts stole the show. Stopped in for lunch with a girlfriend. This place was absolutely amazing. Has the raspberry tea, quiche of the day and took home some tasty desserts! They also had some other daily specials like meatloaf and chicken & dumplings. I'm not sure when I will be back in town but I will definitely stop at Susie's again. The service was excellent as well. We came here after seeing the menu on yelp and expecting to get a vegetarian wrap after passing through the town and finding absolutely nowhere with a vegetarian option. This restaurant menu had a few options to choose from so my sister and I came here. Unfortunately, the updated menu upon arrival no longer offered these items and so we had to modify a salad and get the one vegetarian sandwich option. The pesto "crusted" grilled cheese was burnt to a crisp where you could scrape the char off of the bread. Despite this, the salad was AMAZING and the homemade rolls were THE BEST!!!! Our server was friendly and the service was great, fast, and the atmosphere of this little cafe was perfect. We left satisfied and smiling! read more

I love eating at Susies, especially on Thursdays. The turkey and dressing with sweet potatos make me feel like Thanksgiving can be enjoyed every week! The wait staff is always friendly. The chicken salad was good but there is a lot of pickle relish in it, so if you don't like that then get something else. The chocolate chip cookies are different but in a good way! Cute little cafe! They start off your meal with delicious fresh warm bread. I Went there for lunch and had the chicken pesto panini (~$8 for a full sandwich which included chips and a pickle). It was delicious! For an additional $3, I had a rather small cup of chicken and wild rice soup. It was delicious but a little pricey for the tiny cup. Our waitress was very attentive as well. Surprisingly diverse menu for a small town bakery and restaurant. Yummy warm rolls to start. My salad was plentiful and loaded with chicken, nuts and fruits. My friends had the tomato gouda cheese soup and the french onion soup, both of which got thumbs up. The old-fashioned bread pudding was amazing. Nice selection of coffees and teas.
