They somehow managed to take everything I love about a croissant, perfectly crispy yet soft and flaky layers, and turn it into this incredible doughnut situation. The maple glaze on top was the perfect finishing touch and made the whole thing feel extra indulgent. I also tried the Brioche Berry Lemon Doughnut, which was very tasty. It had plenty of filling with a great balance of berry and lemon, and the outside was pillowy soft with a sugar coating that made every bite even better. Both were delicious in completely different ways, and I already know I will be back to try more. Cal's is definitely a spot worth checking out if you love creative pastries and really well made doughnuts. I suggest getting there earlier if possible to get the best selection as the cashier told me they usually sell out very quickly.
