Actually, I know exactly what I would've done without it: probably gotten ripped off by someone that would've been tougher to find in the first place. ______________ OK, I had an electrical problem. There was an outlet, and the things I needed to plug into the outlet weren't exactly lining up. I requested a quote from a few different electricians in the area, and Kevin Harrington... 1. Responded instantly to ask for more details. I really appreciate a quick response, and I'm assuming you do too because who likes having to wait around? 2. After he got said details, quoted me the (what I now know is a fair) price of $162.19. That's also obviously incredibly precise, as it was right down to the cent after tax, and I like that too, because I want to know how much I'm going to pay. 3. Requested a few more details and photos so as not to waste either of our time when he showed up to do the work. Warned me that if a few things were the case in an old building, it could run me a little bit more than the initial quote. 4. Showed up on time, fixed the issue quickly and efficiently, and then billed me $30 LESS than the original quote, since the job was easier than he expected. Believe me when I tell you that I would not have had the slightest clue if he charged me the original price. But he was honest enough to charge me what he thought the job was worth. I like that. And you know what? I'm gonna call him next time I have an electrical issue.

Originally, they were very responsive (hence 2 stars instead of 1 star). When I left work and checked my phone, I had multiple missed calls and text messages from them. I texted back the next morning. This is where it became like pulling teeth to make an appointment. No arranging an appointment. They simply said they'd "stop by" the next day. Unfortunately, I have a job so I can't sit home all day. I went to work, came home, and checked my cameras -- They never showed up. I called and left more voicemails. I even tried messaging them thru Yelp. Around 2 weeks later, they texted and said they'd "stop by" tomorrow and look at the job. I sat home waiting. Once again, nobody came. I tried calling. No answer. I got tired of begging. I hired someone else who appreciated the business. Matt and his crew did a bang up job. They built 3 new doors for our shed, even putting back boards…read moreon them (which the original doors did not have) so they would not warp. They painted the doors, reused any hardware they could (after cleaning and polishing it), bought matching hardware where necessary, and hung the doors so they open and close perfectly. My husband and I are very pleased with Matt and his crew, and we will DEFINITELY be having them back for more work. The doors look so nice, we have to have the whole shed repainted now. lol I highly recommend Matt. He listens to everything you say, makes recommendations, works within your budget, and cleans up everything when he's done. He even gave us the still half full gallon of paint he used on the doors in case we have to touch up anything. Matt is easy going and a pleasure to work with. He's a 5/5 in our book.

Buyer Beware: Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Unreliable…read more We had a very troubling experience with John Kulk of Kulk's Plumbing and his employees. After diagnosing an issue as a contractor error, John Kulk later changed his story to the contractor, claiming it was our fault, which caused significant confusion and delays. John Kulk then suggested we file a claim with our homeowners insurance to correct the negligence of the contractor. The next day, the contractor stated in writing that he had "conferred" with John Kulk and repeated the same question, "perhaps that could go through your homeowners' insurance??" During the service, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. John Kulk said he can't find qualified workers and complained his employees frequently argue in front of customers. We previously had to ban John Kulk's employees from our home due to their unprofessional behavior. We also faced major reliability issues; snow removal was promised but denied immediately when the first snow storm arrived. Given the overpricing and lack of professional conduct, the quality of service here has significantly declined. We do not feel comfortable having John Kulk's Plumbing in our home again.
