Emergency room is so disorganized. Wait time is horrible. You are just a medical record number to them. Zero care and empathy from staff.

Poor care takes too long to be seen by a doctor and they don't help when it comes to those who have a serious illness

It was crazy, but at least I had many things done that day. During that visit, I came in with very bad back and neck pain following a car crash that had happened a few months earlier. It was pretty hard to convince them that I needed an MRI, but when we finally got the referral, we had to wait about 5 hours before it was done. Another issue we faced was that the referral was only for a lower back MRI. It was my first MRI ever, and I was already very scared, tired, and hungry. So when I got to the MRI room and was told they were only scanning my lower back, I got visibly upset. Big thanks to the two gentlemen who were helping me get ready for the MRI. One of them helped me calm down, while the other spoke to the doctor and convinced her to include a neck MRI too, since I was already there. I am very thankful for that. The MRI did reveal some findings, and after a few other tests, the doctor referred me to see specialists in the future. Another thing I want to mention is my experience with one of the nurses. She measured my blood pressure. The first time, the results came out too low, and she literally said "That cant be right". Then she measured it two more times until the results were higher. I have low blood pressure! For me, 90/50 is somewhat normal. The fact that she kept remeasuring until it was "higher" felt a little weird. Overall, it can really be hit or miss depending on who you get to take care of you while you are here.

When I questioned the front desk girl (who looked about 12 years old) she finally told me she would ask a nurse why I was there so long. The waiting room filled up three whole times and completely emptied out. Three times! I was the only one there still after three full rooms of people came and went. So, I asked the young kid at the desk again, after she promised she would ask a nurse as to what the incredibly long wait was about. A man came out of the back room and began berating me for asking about the times. Yelling with his arms swinging around, totally unprofessional and talking down to me with some B.S. street talk, like I was On the corner trying to buy a stolen watch or something. I just had to leave. No respectable human would sit there after that idiot came out and yelled at you. I still haven't had my eye treated, I just left there and I'll have to go in the morning elsewhere. I will be calling those ignorant whack jobs supervisors tomorrow. I'm not a complainer and I kept my cool the whole time, even when I left. Do yourselves a favor and never step foot in this bucket of crap. This place should really hire folks who have an I.Q. higher than the common house fly. The staff were cursing and the gals at the desk just sat and flirted with the security guys all day. I can't believe this place is a hospital and even exist. Someone should get this behavior on film and definitely document how they treat patients. Don't go there for any reason! You've been warned- swim at your own risk in that filth. If you do go there , you will be worse off when you leave than before. I've never seen a medical facility with such low reviews on Google and yelp. How is this place even in operation? The The folks that run the front should be fired immediately and the doctors should be ashamed of themselves for having such low life's represent them. Also, I'm curious why the "Community R" on yelp here who is responding and representing the hospital, only replies to the good 5 star reviews. All of the poor reviews on here, which are way more than good ones, they aren't responding to. I dare you- respond to my review, but I know you won't. Because you're guilty of neglect at this facility and you have absolutely no defense. Guilty folks always hide.

My NP was insistent on calling an ambulance for me, but I told her I can get someone to drive me to SL ED instead. When I arrived, we found parking quickly, and found the ED to be screened by security which was a nice peace of mind. To say emergency departments are understaffed in general is an understatement! Having worked as a paramedic, I fully expected to wait a long time as I know its super busy. Notably, I also underplayed my own situation, as I am so desensitized to seeing way worse, it didn't entirely dawn on me that my situation was bad. I spoke to the receptionist and she took down my information as we chatted about dogs. Then I waited in the waiting room, which was unexpectedly full(it wasnt even a full moon tonight)! There weren't many available seats so I stood against a wall, and was called within 5 minutes. The ER nurse doing triage took my vitals and instantly took me back to do a EKG. My HR was at 150 with BP of 170/101, and sinus tach on the EKG, so it was quite serious in numers term(though I was most asymptomatic). I heard the nurse show the ER doc my EKG results in which he probably said, "Oh wow, bring the patient back here". So, they brought me back and promptly did blood draws and covid test. Then moved me to a room, did an XRay, in case I had a blood clot in my heart. Which I really applauded the ER doc for thinking of other probable causes for my elevated vitals. They also checked for infection, etc. They had me sit in a chair, and gave me fluids and then Metrolpolol to bring my HR down. Then they did a CAT scan. Then they almost did another XRay, but the doc canceled it last minute. The only reason I'm giving them a 4 star instead of a 5 is because of how poorly understaffed they are, I wish KP would just give nurses better incentives and apply so they would retain more staff with KP. The poor nurses, techs and doctors, running around trying to get things done. I didn't leave until 11PM, but if metropolol didn't work, they were planning to keep me overnight and administer more medication via IV. So, im glad my heart decided to respond to the medication! They also redid a covid test, 2 blood cultures, 2 blood tests, and a urine test because it wasn't logged in the charts. Overall, I appreciate all of the hard work and thank you to the ER techs, nurses and doctors for trying to work as fast as possible to get me out of the ED! Nonetheless, great job!

I recently had to pay a visit to the Emergency Department at El Camino. I have been to this ER many…read moretimes as well as being a patient in the main hospital for surgeries and the recovery that follows. I have always experienced excellent care here. I have an auto immune disease that sometimes causes my inflammatory markers to skyrocket and this will cause me so much pain, beyond what I can control at home. That's exactly what happened last week. I knew I was in trouble and needed to get to the ER fast. My husband got us there quickly and I checked in. I was taken to the triage area for my vitals. Luckily I'm in their system. And most of my Doctors are connected with El Camino because they are a part of Sutter Health. So the hospital knows my health history. The waiting area was packed with sick people. I'm thinking, this is going to be a long and painful wait. I was called back to see the Dr. within a few minutes, which was surprisingly quick. They got me a wheelchair and took me back. All of my joints were hurting so bad that it hurt to walk. I explained everything to Dr. Tsai. I appreciated that he listened to me and took the time to ask important questions. I told him I was supposed to get labs done tomorrow for my metabolic panel because I wasn't feeling well and I told him that the way I was feeling probably meant my inflammatory markers, ESR and C-reactive protein were probably very high. He told me he would order all those tests immediately and start me off with pain pills first and then progress to stronger IV meds if the pills didn't work. I also mentioned to him that the new medication that I have been taking for this problem has not been working very well and my rheumatologist was trying to get prior authorization to increase the dose of that new medication. That's why my pain had gotten out of hand. I was sent back to the waiting area, again, to wait to get my labs done. I was again called back within a few minutes. I was taken back for the bloodwork. Then taken to a private patient room, where I could lay down in a bed and get my IV started. I met the nurses that would be taking care of me. I let them know that it's hard finding my veins. I appreciated that the nurse believed me and got a vein finder to help with finding a vein. She was able to find one that was deeper, in my arm, but it was a good vein. She got the IV started. Her patience with getting my IV started was awesome. A lot of times nurses don't believe me when I tell them I'm a hard stick. She was wonderful and did an amazing job with my IV. Since the pills didn't work for my pain, we moved on to stronger IV pain medication. I was also felling nauseated from the pain. They didn't hesitate to give me nausea medication, right away. As it turned out, my inflammatory markers were extraordinarily high. They gave me the best pain management over the next several hours and didn't discharge me until my pain was under control and I was more relaxed and calm. Pain like that is horrible. I want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Tsai and nurses for listening to me and my pain concerns and doing everything they could to stabilize me. I have followed up with my doctors and am on a new medication regimen to help with the inflammation. I am finally feeling better. The medical team here, treated me with respect and dignity. Everyone was very professional and kind. I am grateful to the medical team that took care of me that day. Thank you to Dr. Tsai and the nurses that all worked collaboratively, to get me feeling better.

The bacon was stuck together and so hard that there was no breaking through it. I proceeded to take the bacon off from between the croissant. Upon doing so, I found the bacon to be old or overly cooked. There was no way to eat the sandwich. I called kaiser and was transferred several times to the cafeteria. each time the ringing was long and then picked up and hung up. May 21, 2026 Another appointment at the Vacaville location for my mother. i then went down to this cafeteria and asked for the manager. I wanted to know if this location was operating under the same contract as the Vallejo location. The manager was summoned (middle-aged Asian female). Reiterating the issue, I was told that the sandwich was made to be eaten immediately (WHAT!). i responded by telling her that the timeline wasn't even 2 hours after buying. She then asked me for my credit card number in reference to the purchase. She wanted me to write it down for her. NOW THIS REQUEST IS CRAZY! I tell her, "Thank you" but "no thank you" and walk away.
