SNMF is what I have to call "Lowest Common Denominator Medical Care", dispensed primarily by PA's and NP's who appear to be completely hobbled by the organization... SNMF has very few actual medical school graduates working for them, and, you will have a hard time finding a PCP there. SNMF has a large staff of know-nothings, preventing you from receiving care, making an appointment, or from talking to anyone at all who cares... SNMF has no "patient-relations" staff, they don't survey the patients, and SNMF does not appear to give a damn whether you are their patient, or not. I was repeatedly put off, I was unable to get an appointment with an MD, and the FNP's assigned were "too afraid" to handle a 67 year old man, for whatever reason... I am baffled by the unprofessional attitudes, the army of minions who apparently wanted me to "just go away", and by the lack of accessible services, from a company advertising that they see "homeless people"... Odd that they don't have time to see a senior citizen and a longtime resident and career healthcare worker, who has insurance. If this is the current state of healthcare, in CA, we are all in trouble... read more

It's a nice convenient facility... need more employees to speed up wait time. It's ridiculous if you're not feeling well, YOU HAVE to wait 2-4+hr to get seen.... might as well complain you have chest pain & shortness of breath, and you'll get seen ASAP. read more

While Sutter North has some excellent doctors, they're billing sucks...My husband has CHF and went in for his annual physical which included complete blood work....His doctor coded the bloodwork as routine instead of necessary and Medicare refused to pay the 300.00. We had them recode and resubmit as requested from Medicare representative and the board at Sutter refused....We pay for the best supplement as to not get bills like this, but SN refused to work with us....So my husband will be changing doctors as Medicare suggested...Medicare shared with us about coding and SN is terrible..... read more

I had the worst experience with Dr. Damon's nurse or nurses assistant, she was cold, rude and condescending. The woman I was helping to the doctor is a stroke survivor and it seemed to frustrate this nurse. I was asked to leave, because I raised my voice, after we took about 4 minutes of this nurse being rude and condescending. I raised my voice and said, "Look lady, we're doing the best we can, we got the soonest appointment we could." The nurse screamed at me, "telling me I had no right to speak to her like that, and I needed to leave!" But, I did, she was absolutely horrible and I felt I needed to speak up for ourselves. This was the most unprofessional person in the health care industry I have ever encountered. I complied and left, with the nurse screaming at me, down the hall, as I left. Screaming," I'm going to call the cops on your ass!" I said, "For what? You're the one being a condescending bitch." I flipped her off. I'm not proud of my responce, I should have asked for a supervisor to document her behavior. Something tells me this isn't the first patient she has been a monster to. I didn't catch her name but she's in Dr. Damon's office and her personality is unmistakable. read more

Long waiting times, rushed providers and numerous billing errors are a preview of what Sutter North holds for you. I no longer wonder how bad (corporate) socialized medicine can be; I have experienced it in person. Pros: access to specialists. Cons: cost, waiting times in offices, not accepted by many insurance plans provider networks, and doesn't accept patients on MediCal. read more

We love our children's pediatrician (Dr. Pande). We used to have Dr. Marks (who is also great, just not the right fit for our family). Dr. Pande really takes the time to explain everything to us as the parent and make sure we understand everything that is going on. The appointment line is always fast and efficient. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I went to this facility to see a dermatologist that I have seen for years. At the front desk I was given a policy form to sign. The form had policy for no guns allowed in their facility, even if you have a conceal and carry... I told the lady at the front desk I would not sign it. She said, " unfortunately if you do not sign, you can't be seen. " so I said, "Okay, then I won't be seen, please give me back my check." Which she did. I went home and called the NRA. If you believe in gun rights, please go anywhere else but Sutter Medical Foundation. I don't even have a conceal and carry or own a gun but I'm not signing anything that infringes on our rights. read more

I just became my father's sole care provider after a long stay in the ICU and a decline of his health. Not only are the Sutter Doctors who are nearly solely male doctors at this facility arrogant and condescending, but the entire Sutter Health system is a joke. You cannot reach your doctors office by phone without a 20-30 minute wait, and going through 2 people, including a "scheduler" who will not transfer you to your doctor's staff. It's a joke. The scheduler kept saying: "I can help you with that..." and what I needed was a referral to switch cardiologists, after the Sutter cardiologist was completely out of touch with my father's needs. We (my father and I) wanted to switch him to another group, which is fully within his rights of his insurance, and also, I had been waiting for a call back from his PCP who said they would "call me right back" at 11:00 am, and it's now nearly 2:00 and I have not heard back. The scheduler COULD NOT fulfill these needs. This is the third time his PCP has cancelled an appointment with him in 6 months. I am several decades old and I have NEVER had a PCP cancel an appointment, and this is the third time in recent duration. Not only that, but my father, who had just gotten out of the hospital got a flu from Kordoni's office. The only thing he touched while he was there were the grab bars on the scale. My guess is they are never sanitized. Also, the entire second floor of the the Sutter Cardiology department at 460 Plumas as NO hand sanitizer for patients to use. None, anywhere. What century are they operating from??? The biggest threat to my elderly father is getting another cold. His heart and lungs cannot take it, and they are not doing anything to help him prevent it. Not only that, but he is on a breathing machine, and I need to plug it in whenever we are waiting, and the outlets in the cardiologist waiting room are covered. It's like these people claim they want to help people with heart conditions, but that care stops at the heart. What about sanitation and oxygen????????? I have only been to two appointments with my father and I am super disappointed with Sutter Health. Well....his insurance just changed, and he has a lot more options, and we are going to use them. Sutter can take their crappy phone system, their arrogant doctors, and their entire self-serving approach to health, and stick it. read more

the doctor and nurse were very kind and friendly but the Sutter Medical Foundation charges patients an insane amount of money without informing the patients of the cost. After my visit, I was told that my total cost for the visit was less than $120. I paid my bill in full and thought everything was taken care of. Weeks later I recieved another bill in the mail from Sutter Medical claiming I owed more money. I called their billing center to ask what I was being charged for and they came up with yet another bill that I had to pay. There was an extra $140 that I wasn't aware of. Came in to urgent care after feeling crummy for 4 days. I checked in as a new patient in about 10 minutes, got to a room in about 40 minutes, seen by a nurse practitioner in about 15 minutes, did a swab test that took 13 minutes to test, they came back with the results and sent my medication to the pharmacy immediately. All in all I didn't think it was bad timing for urgent care and everyone seemed pretty friendly. read more

I find it really odd that this medical facility has no changing tables for mothers who bring their babies. The upstairs floor and downstairs floor in the 460 building bathrooms have no changing tables. When I had asked the medical assistant, she also found it odd as well and let me change my baby girl in their break room since it had a bench in there. I had cateract surgery in late June 2014 with Pranav Amin MD as my providing physician. I am thrilled with the results and want to compliment Dr. Amin and his excellent staff for such a professional and caring way that they have taken care of me. I had to do a colonoscopy and called to get an approximate cost. I was very specific in asking for an estimate of the entire procedure. I was told between 2-4 thousand. So I had it done. I was shocked when I got the bill. The facility charge alone was $4700. Add to that $3800 doctor fee and $580 for some other fee I'm looking at 9 grand for a two hour procedure. My review is regarding the back office staff who took my phone call on 5/4/2010 at 2:25pm. I called regarding an issue with EDD state disability continuation. The "nurse" was very short with me and rude. She continually stated she had "other patients waiting for her care" (as if I was anything less). She continued to treat me as if I were a bother. I could not obtain a continuation of disability payments as my surgeon was no longer within my ppo network and therefore discharged me as his patient. I'd established with a new spine doc in the new town I moved to, however since the new doc did not do the surgery he would not fill out any EDD paperwork and referred me to my primary care physician. The new primary care referred me back to the spine surgeon. As I related my unresolved situation the nurse treated me rudely and tried to rid my off the phone without so much as any care concern or help with the unresolved paperwork issue. read more

The medical care in the Yuba-Sutter are area is sad. Something should be done about it, some kind of review or investigation should be conducted. It's not like you can use a different facility because there isn't one. I have seen two different physician's assistants as the only real doctor there appears to be the elusive Dr. Hoffman who I have never seen and suspect must be some kind of poltergeist. I can't get over the staff, the ones answering the phones are nice, but the ones that work for the physicians assistants suck. They are apathetic, arrogant, unskilled and very unprofessional. I ask questions, and they get upset. I tell them I need to change a medication and I don't get a call back for days. I tell them I want to change physicians and I'm told I need to make a "new patient" appointment even though I am not a new patient and they have all my information and things on record already. I tell them I am in pain and need an appointment as soon as possible, wait all day. Call comes in at 4:25 PM, my ringer was off and I missed it. I called back but the office was closed at 4:30 PM. So I had 5 minutes to call after waiting all day. I went to bed in pain and had to wait until the next day. They are clueless. Whenever I have had to have prescriptions there have been problems like they used the wrong code, they got the dosage wrong, they never called it in, etc. Hopeless. Sutter North in Roseville gets good reviews. I wonder why the one in Yuba City is so bad? I wish I had anywhere else to go, but I don't. read more

Their website says that their urgent care clinic will treat ANYONE: "You and your family can access care on a walk-in basis. We offer care to Sutter patients, insured patients whose doctors are affiliated with other systems, and uninsured patients who wish to pay for services with cash, check or credit/debit cards. We accept most insurance plans." This is simply not true. I am insured and my doctor is within another system. I tried to be seen at Sutter Urgent Care yesterday, as there aren't many urgent care options in this area (I had been seen there before in the past with no problem, but now everything is weird since insurance only covers certain clinics.) The receptionist was rude and told me I could not be seen unless I switched to their medical network. I asked why their website says otherwise, and she had no idea what I was talking about and continued to be unfriendly and rude. She gave me a business card with a number for switching to their network, but that's useless when you need to be seen NOW. She also turned away another lady, who also asked why their website says one thing and they don't actually honor that policy. Either they need to honor the policy that they advertise, or hire a writer to come up with more accurate content. read more

The nurses here are very consistent in rudeness and lack of caring. Expect cold, business-like treatment. Expect to be quoted from their rule book and definitely don't expect any advocacy from them. Every department, every encounter. My mom has untreatable cancer and they could not care less. The doctors here aren't much better. They don't particularly care and they NEVER call back. These doctors contributed to the opiate crisis and now refuse to give pain meds which makes them sadists. I think I am going to have to go to the streets to get my mom pain meds. If you have a choice, avoid Sutter. If you don't have a choice, expect some suffering. All this crappy care and yet the US pays the most for health care. I wish all of this suffering that they inflict back to the doctors and nurses so that they feel what they put their "patients" through. If karma exists then they all have something coming. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've never been to any medical facility that charges more than Sutter North. I went to the dermatologist and the PA recommended a biopsy. He said it could be done that day. After the biopsy he said well it doesn't look like anything more than a cyst, but we will send it out anyway. A "scalp surgery" and TWO pathology charges (and $600 out of pocket AFTER insurance paid), I received a LETTER in the mail (apparently they don't even call you with results!!) saying it was nothing more than an inflamed hair follicle. Considering this person is a PA in a dermatology office AND should know what things should be checked by a pathologist and which aren't necessary, it's pretty ridiculous that there was not only one pathology charge...but two! One was an outside lab and one was Sutter pathology. REALLY?? You say oh it looks like a cyst but then you have it checked by TWO pathologists to confirm it's a cyst?? RIDICULOUS overcharging of their patients. I will not be back. I will drive to another city to be seen by any other facility if I have to. Yes, it will be worth the extra time and gas money to do that. read more
