Do you love Melissa Brand plastic shoes?? Yeah, so do I. Fun, playful and a sophisticated spin on the "jellies" we all knew and loved, Melissa's are the perfect summer shoe. Before the brand teamed up with Vivian Westwood and made designs that cost a bagillion dollars, they were mostly mid-range flats. The brand has since graduated to heals and wedges, still all made out of rubbery plastic, and shoe styles with flourishes on the toes. They also do a lot of fun, bright colors and metallics.
Suyu has the largest selection of Melissa shoes I've found in Sydney but this shop has clothes and accessories as well. However, I was distracted by their intriguing shoe department in the front of the store. What about hippy chic Birkenstocks? You know, the ones that have the comfy arch supportive sole and the patent leather skinny strap that threads the toes and latches around the ankle? They carry this sensible summer sandal in every color created. If you're going traveling, or expect to be doing a fair bit of walking in the summer heat, I suggest you give these a try. You can't find a more comfortable shoe. read more
