Before she cut my hair, she came in and swept up all the discarded hair on the floor from the 2 mature ladies there Friday arvo 29th May 2020. Then she washed my hair (not bad but water was a bit too hot and didn't notice me jump). She then proceeded to chat but when she showed me the back of my hair how she cut it, I was far too shocked to say anything but it looked dreadful. Having never, ever been treated this way in my entire adult life I paid the "pensioner" rate of $35 out of the original $45 quoted. I was booked in a month prior and waited patiently for my turn to have a lovely cut and experience and was duped. The mature ladies even ran up to stop the apprentice from answering the shop's phone when it rang and one said she would get it. I should have just walked out and not paid but that would look pretty nasty too.

Joel is a a genius - no exaggeration. I used to walk in, say 'Give me what you feel like.' and I've always come out feeling nothing but the best. Seriously, I've forced myself to go out just to show off my hair after a style. Wayne is also a genius with the colouring. He actually suggested an asymmetrical style mid cutting with Joel which spawned the greatest hairstyle I've had which was copied in 2 continents by friends and acquaintances who saw it. I actually had strangers coming up to me and asking me if they could copy my hair. I've tried every hairstyle and colour (from long blonde to dark brown short boy pixie cut) too and was never dissapointed. The prices are great for what you're getting (champers or tea while getting a haircut - yay!). The atmosphere is fun and the people are all wonderful. I never had a bad experience. I came in one time hungry and hungover and they actually got me breakfast to eat on the chair while getting my hair done! I also love the non toxic hair colour they use and their own line of shampoos and conditioners were awesome too. I really can't say anything bad about this place. In 2010, I visited Aus for a wedding and couldn't pass up a cut and style while there and I haven't had an AMAZING haircut since ;-( I LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL ATLANTIS HAIR!!!

It's not the cheapest salon around, but the prices aren't over the top either, and sometimes it's worth paying a bit extra for a job well done. There's limited parking around the area and most of the spaces are limited to two hours on the weekend - and trust me, those parking inspectors in Paddington are sticklers. You're better off catching the 378, 380 or 333 bus from the city and hopping off when you see the Australian Centre of Photography on your right. After I moved to Sydney 2 years ago I tried a few hairdressers from cheap to expensive and I was never really satisfied. I'm glad to have found this place in the end. After your complimentary drink they start off with a head-shoulder massage, followed by a relaxing hair wash while sitting on one of their fancy massage chairs. What I also find important is that they wash your hair again after they're done with the cut. I noticed that not many hairdressers actually do that here in Sydney and then you're left for the day with little hairs all over you. The entire Cabelo crew is very friendly, competent and certainly worth the money. A normal mens hair cut including 2x wash (before & after), cut and styling costs $60. I come here every 3 weeks. Can't wait for the next time!

The thing about Sasha's which makes it fantastic is Sasha herself. Her Russian accent is distinctive and you'll find her Eastern European clientele are drawn to a familiar voice. Now, don't be fooled by the lack of designer fittings - what she lacks in aesthetic is made up for with skill. My favourite hair treat is her Blow Drys. You will have superstar hair - and who wouldn't want that. A blow-dry costs $30 and takes about 30 minutes.
