I strongly advise against using Svoboda & Williams. They specifically target foreigners who are new to the country, taking advantage of their lack of local knowledge to push through ridiculous contract terms. They will repeatedly tell you that these unfair conditions are "normal" in the Czech Republic, but it is a lie intended to exploit those who don't know the local market yet. I know it's great that you can handle everything in english and everything seems easy and comfortable, but trust me, you're gonna regret later.
My personal experience with agent Zorana Renovica was a perfect example of this unprofessionalism. During an apartment handover, the atmosphere was incredibly tense. When my friend received an electric shock from a lamp, the agent didn't even pause, just offered water, she simply pressured us to finish because she was in a hurry. She eventually abandoned the handover before it was finished, leaving us to sign legal documents without her presence. Throughout the process, she was condescending, made inappropriate remarks about our age, and excluded the tenant from conversations by speaking only in Czech with the landlady. The agency is now denying these facts, but their dishonesty is just part of their business model. They prioritize their commissions over safety and ethics. If you have just moved to Prague, do not trust this agency-they are looking for people to rip off. read more
