I really want to give this hotel a higher rating, but it's hard when the cons outweigh the pros…read more This isn't really a hotel, but more like apartments, although what I got was a studio. It's located within a few blocks, or about a 5 minute walk (if you're a fairly fast walker) from the metro, for convenience. There are restaurants nearby, although the ones we tried weren't very good and I wouldn't recommend them. There is a small convenience store that is opened until 11 located a block away. The room we got is more like a studio with a small kitchen, some pots and pans, 3 plates, cups, and bowls for the three of us. We had two comfortable full size beds and individual lights located above the headrest in case you want to read at night. The bathroom was on the small size, although I really like the tiles on the shower (no bath tub). As for the cons, the room was on the dark side. The bathroom light is sensor, which stinks because it's always turning off when it doesn't detect motion. Hot water seems to run out in the evenings, which is when we take our showers after a long day walking about. The elevator is so small that it barely fits the three of us and our luggage (which consists of 2 large backpacks and a rolling duffel bag). And for some odd reason, I had the hardest time with the elevator button. It seems I don't have the magic touch or something, because I have to press it about a half dozen times or more before it turns red, indicating that the lift is on its way to our floor. AND, the keyhole doesn't seem to like me either because I have a hard time opening the door. The slot keeps spinning when I try to insert the key. Lastly, there is no central air, but instead there is a loud standing air conditioner situated by the dining table. If you're not standing or sitting close to it, you're not feeling the cold air. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're looking for a cheap place and don't mind taking cold showers.

However given the steep nature of the streets, it's not a walk you would like to take everyday. Luckily the metro station is very close and quite cheap and easy. The staff were perhaps the kindest I have ever seen anywhere. They went out of their way to make sure you're experience is perfect in every way. The rooms are clean and comfortable and offer all the required amenities. Out room had an air-conditioner and we were really happy with it.

The location is on a fairly steep hill on the route to some excellent sights to visit. The breakfast is not included and not worth the effort. I recommend to walk down the street to Good Eats bar and have some pancakes or sandwiches there. The food at the hotel's restaurant is excellent and big portions. The restaurant only closes at 8 pm, so be early. We could even take our dinner up to our room.

You have everything you need within few walking minutes - tram stop, super market, atm, castle of prague(!) - and we even had a (little) view over the beautiful city from the attic floor of our two-floor appartment (as seen above) and dared to park outside on the street since the very-friendly-and-well-english-speaking-reception-lady said it was a safe district. :) Otherwise it's common and recommended to pay for secure parking in Prague.. It's a perfect place to start your city tour, too! You can just walk straight down the hill to the old town and on your way you will automatically see all the important sightseeings of Prague. So, all in all this place is fully recommendable! :)

With the Christmas holidays in full swing (from 12-24 through 12-26) a lot of businesses are…read moreclosed. We walked to the western side of the Charles Bridge and wanted a respite from the cold. Luckily we saw the sign for Art Residence and decided to give it a try. It's down a long corridor so slightly tricky to find but I'm glad we did. The two ladies working were very good and got our food and drinks to us (6) quickly. I had the carrot cake and while it wasn't the best that I've had, it was still good. It was moist and had a nice amount of nuts in it. The frosting was a bit sweet, but it was a light layer so it wasn't cloying. There's room for no more than about 15 inside, but they also have seating outside. With the temps in the 20s (Fahrenheit) the inside was at capacity. I'm sure it's a bustling place outside when the weather is nicer.
