I have been going to SVS for 4 years and they have always been so kind, understanding, and helpful. My son 9 yr old failed his vision test at his at the dr office- so of course we took him to SVS. They reached a whole new level of kindness with him! (I didn't think it was possible because they already were so kind to me!) They explained everything they were doing to him. Made sure he was comfortable every step of the way. And, without hesitation, the dr referred him to a specialist for a second opinion. The dr reassured me that it wasn't anything we had or hadn't done because his left eye was so bad. We went to the specialist and got patches and went back to SVS and ordered his glasses. Dr wanted to make sure that everything possible was done to gain use of his left eye. Thankfully we have hope that it will get better. I can't thank them enough! I've been going to the eye doctor every year since I was seven. I have had great and not-so-great experiences. When a good friend recommended Dr. Connick at SVS, it was more for the convenience of the appointment time than anything else that led me to make the change. I keep going back, though, because Dr. Connick is not only great at his job, but he is also a personable and friendly doctor, which is really rarer than it should be. His staff is professional and knowledgeable, and I especially recommend Melissa if you have the opportunity to work with her. Her professionalism and helpfulness stands out in any crowd. In the times that I have been at the office for appointments, to purchase glasses, I have been treated incredibly well, even when the staff was clearly stretched and busy. I broke my favorite pair of glasses that I have been wearing for about five years and I have been very hesitant to visit an eye doctor. The process of switching and having to do everything over again is time consuming and to be honest quite boring. However, I found the entire process quite pleasant and quick at SVS Vision. I have needed glasses my entire life due to being nearsighted and have been to countless eye care locations because of changes in health care or otherwise. The staff were all very nice and had good humor, the optometrist was probably the best I have had (and it just so happened to be her first day!). They have always been ready to go! Everytime I have gone there, wether it was an appointment for my vision, or to pick out my glasses. I recently came in with my broken glasees all the girls were really kind, relatable and so helpful. I thought they were gonna have to send my glasses out to get fixed, but I was lucky they had a replacement frAme right there. Had me fixed up and ready go in no time. Even fixed how tight my other pair of glasses are. They accepted my insurance, so I never pay much when I go. I definitely recommend calling to see if they take your insurance, and have any openings. The best part was calling and thee ability for getting an appt same day. I really only wanted to complete my benefits for the yr to get primary glasses up to date since I had previously purchased sunglasses. I had previously gone on line to check what frame I wanted so the assistant directed me right to the frame. We sat down and pulled up my account and she explained all my options that was easy to comprehend. I was satisfied with the price especially when the promo was applied, with out me asking! Doc is Awesome! For years I was prescribed the wrong strength for both eyes, or given reading glasses that cause more headaches than not wearing them at all. Then along came Doc, and by golly it's a whole new world! With two very different prescriptions for both eyes and having the correct lenses for astigmatism (only in one eye). My headaches and eye strain are minimum. The support staff are also incredible, they are patient with you even if you're the last appointment of the day and taking forever to pick out your new frames. I will always recommend my friends and family to go to this SVS for the right prescription the first time! read more

I picked up my prescription glasses the other day, they fit well and help me see so much. The doctor was super kind, efficient, professional and on-point with writing the correct prescription. The rest of the staff was very kind and helpful/professional as well. It was a fast appointment but I wasn't rushed at all to pick out which frames I wanted! I knew what shape I wanted before walking in. They worked with my Molina insurance and were understanding about that. This will be my third review for SVS in Traverse City. I'll say the one thing that I may have left out before and, to me, it is the most important: the staff is always kind. Yes, their overall service is great. They are following all covid guidelines, taking excellent care of customers, and doing all the business-y things flawlessly, too. Initially I went to another eye Doctor and separate glasses place (now closed) in town and ended up with glasses that bothered me so much I could not wear them from the Doctor and unfriendly and unhelpful staff at the glasses place. I stopped in to svs vision and made an appointment for my son and later myself. The ladies always help my boy and I find good frames for our preferences, face and budget, as well as the Doctor with comfortable contacts. You can walk in for quick adjustments, they get insurance on the phone and your order in quickly. It's out of my way but, worth it. read more

The customer service here is really excellent. They work to find the best price solution and saved me tons of money when my daughter broke her frame by figuring out how to get it replaced for free. The quality is excellent and they do repairs on frames, refit them when needed. Sarah is so helpful -- not just to us -- I overheard her on a phone call to a senior client who must have had some hearing and memory loss and she was SO patient and kind. Always been very helpful towards me and my kids. My daughter is special needs and it is not always easy to find places that can work with her many abilities. The staff has always been very kind and willing to help us with anything that we may need. And super quick! All of the staff here are very friendly, prompt, professional, and thoughtful. I was able to get in for an eye exam really soon due to a cancellation, and my appointment was quick yet thorough. They took the time to explain my options, and helped me find a pair of glasses that were very specific. I found the one just after trying the third pair! The doctor and staff were just absolutely amazing. I came in there with my four young boys, I'm a single mom, and I was very nervous about having them all there. The staff were polite, personable, and absolutely did not make me feel bad in any sort of way about the chaos that comes with four boys. My glasses are wonderful and help me see clearer than I have ever seen in my life. I have not been able to see out of my left eye in years, it was always blurry.
