Ask the Community - Swap For Cash

Is this a good place to sell anything like collectibles and pictures or do they just except gold diamonds?

Hi, We do not buy pictures and most collectibles. We purchase fine watches, musical instruments, vintage guitars, couture handbags and other items of value.

To begin with, she was SO responsive and respectful to me and listened well while being firm on her price; I think I'm a pretty aggressive negotiator but she presented her basis for her final price in a cogent, kind fashion and I was embarrassed to press any further. She went ahead and paired the actual watch with her own iPhone and Apple ID right there at the sales counter, as I simply wanted to be sure the Series 4 loaded apps and operated properly. Again, she did all of this respectfully and efficiently and then she finished the transaction flawlessly. Her store was very clean, well organized and safe compared to other pawn shops. It really felt like a beautiful indoor consignment shop, to be honest. My seven year old daughter was with me at the time and had a blast looking at all the beautiful jewelry and guitars. Finally, I have to say I came here first and read Yelp reviews before physically going there, but unfortunately all of these reviews here could not have been with the same person. There's an old metaphor called Wittgenstein's ruler, that basically says you can apply logic and learn more about the thing used to measure something than the thing you're measuring. I think the previous people that wrote reviews here must have just been having a bad day, or maybe got into an accident that day. My experience with Natalia was professional, efficient, and a fantastic economic transaction. I'm proud to know she is operating a pro- customer small business here in Monmouth County. FYI: I'm not related in any fashion to the owner of this business nor have I received any compensation for this review.

As well as a diamond initial ring and necklace all in 14k gold. This clueless blonde insulted the jewelry and are u ready for this? Offered $60.00 yes sixty dollare for the diamond cross alone which was beautiful and sells for well over 1500.00 with the quality stones and craftsmanship. Then this looney bird tried to offer me like 150.00 for my gold diamond necklace & ring combined!!!!! I stopped her before she insulted my beautiful studs and left that horrible place. I had a bad feeling walking in when I saw all the non jewelry "junk" they buy . I am an avid jewelry purchaser, I have my diamond education and do not buy junk. This was such an insult to my beautiful jewelry and my intelligence....how anyone would sell anything to such a disrespectful and insulting woman is beyond my comprehension. I was so angry when I left ...do not recommend this awful place .

I've worked for a pawn (buy/sell) shop when I was just starting out working. It was one of my first…read morejobs in sales and I have to say in literally all my work experiences, no one has ever even come close to consistently demonstrating the level of patience, honesty, and fairness that Fast Cash exemplifies on the daily. What most people don't understand is that often times there is an emotional connection to the item that they are selling. They can remember how hard they worked to save to be able to purchase the very thing thing they are now unfortunately selling and often times when the honest reality is given to them concerning the true value of their prized possession, specifically their item's actual value, they understandably take offense to it. You can't mistake someone being realistic from a business standpoint, and furthermore, dismiss their ethical sincerity and fairness with you because you value something more than anyone else in this world would be willing be willing to pay. Their staff may seem blunt, but believe me they are working with you to find the highest value they can pay you for your prized possession in your time of need as they themselves are balancing their own empathy and morality towards you along with their instructed professional business practices. Understanding that this is an actual business and not a charity, you can conclude that they are way beyond fair. Most times when I am selling something, the person behind the counter will turn their computer screen, show me what an item has sold for recently that matches what I am selling, and will discuss the differences such as age of the item, condition, etc... With that said, almost every time I go into any of the 3 locations, I'll see an item I recently just sold to them and it is priced on the floor exactly the way the associate described it would be to me. No one is going to force you to agree to a price, so if you think you can get a better pay out from else where, by all means give it a shot. But from my own personal experience, I've done that only to return to Fast Cash with the very same item just a few days later only to sell it to them for the price I was initially unwilling to accept it was actually worth. In addition, my favorite aspect of doing business with fast cash is I am constantly learning from their staff about how pricing on used items tends to trend, what items hold value greater than others, and ways to look up my own items before coming into the store so that I know what to expect. I know for a fact most businesses that practice pawning, buying and selling wouldn't give you the time of day since it is that very same education of value that these other establishments use to rip you off. To the main managers Richie, Matt, and Jordan, I tip my hat to not only you guys, but to your incredible and professional staff at all 3 locations. You guys do an amazing job and always provide me with impeccable customer service. I appreciate you all and look forward to doing more business with you and your team soon. God bless Team Fast Cash, you guys are truly the best at what you do. Thank you and keep up the great work! In summation, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL !!!

All three locations of this store are a scam. I've been to them all and they are all the same…read more They take advantage of you when you're down on your luck. Which is true of the majority of people that visit a pawn shop. They will tell you your items are worth way less than they are. If you sell a ring with a diamond in it, they tell you the diamonds are worth nothing and they are just throwing them out. Meanwhile, they have a bag full of diamonds they take to sell in the diamond district. They will cut your jewelry apart and then tell you the price. Make gouges in your pieces of jewelry for testing even when they are clearly marked and wouldn't need to be acid tested when viewed by an actual expert. Employees are rude and demeaning. They have difficulty performing basic tasks: doing eBay searches for items, matching items, pricing items, acid testing. One female employee claimed she'd have to wait for Richie to acid test a pocket watch my husband and I brought in. When we were perplexed as to why an employee of a pawn shop was unable or unwilling to acid test, she relented, and in the process of her testing it, she managed to gouge it. Also, instead of testing for 14k, she used the 18k acid. We left with the piece and took it somewhere else for a second opinion and it's 14k. To sum up, just incompetent and rude people. I'm going to open a store and call it Faster Cash. We'll pay $20 more a pennyweight for gold. Also, we'll not treat everyone like we're better than them. Especially when they are going through a difficult time. We won't take your knife, pay you $20, tell you we're doing YOU a favor, and turn around and sell it for $500. True story.

I thought I had left a review previously, but I guess I didn't…read more I had been going to Q's Loan for over a year now, as my move back to NYC ended up astronomically more expensive than planned. I pawned multiple instruments over the course of the time, and rotated the ones in pawn with ones I was using at the time, so I had experience with pawning multiple items, redeeming multiple items, and repawning some when I had to. I have now gotten all of the instruments out of pawn. First thing - if you have ever pawned something, especially if it had monetary and/or personal significance to you, it is an emotional thing. Chris and the entire staff are *absolutely amazing!* I have dealt with sociopaths (not at Q's Loan) behind the counters of multiple pawn shops in other states, who always have the attitude of "are you still here?" as long as they weren't making extra money off of you. Q's Loan always treated me with respect and the fees for the pawns are frankly about 1/5 the interest I paid in other states. The entire staff at Q's Loan were always helpful and never let me lose an item pawned as has happened in other states where I pawned one thing or another. They knew I wanted my things back and made sure I was always aware of my due dates and what the costs were for redemption of items on a particular day. Secondly, the amounts and rates I got for the pawn loans were very fair and manageable. Everyone was always professional but personable. I can't recommend them enough!
