Many snack bars were closed, but that was not a bad thing. Still, there were no long lines. There is hardly any good/healthy food. The themes are randomly thrown together and the park has no guideline (more). It seems like they have lost their concept. The theme was Oktoberfest and it was poorly executed. The employees who drove around in cheap costumes in a kind of rickshaw and played (Romanian) music, rather made fun of the other nationality (German). If you want to change a plate or cup for another food or drink, you literally have to beg. They also have water rides and then charge you extra if you want to dry off. Tickets at the gate cost almost double compared to buying them online on their own website. The staff is neither friendly nor qualified. All in all, this is the worst theme park I've ever been to, and definitely one of the most expensive. A total rip-off.

Sprawling over parts of East London that most people pass through without giving the area a second glance. No hipsters to be found here. What I never expected was to find so much sporting action here; least of all an ice rink. Indeed it is no Somerset House, in fact it's very utilitarian; but if you're one of those people that trains all year round to perfect those turns and build up speed, you'll be blissfully free of the obstruction of kissing couples who can't really skate to save their lives and only decided to come so they could 'accidentally' fall on top of each other. They have nearly 2000 pairs of skates ranging from UK child size 6 to adult size 13, they do crash courses and half term courses for children. It has curiously staggered opening times; starting at 1130 till 3, 5 till 7 and then 830 till 1030. Goodness only knows why. Come here if you fancy giving Torvil and Dean a run for their money.

As there was not much difference in price he opted to book us on the 2 hour trip. Below decks there's a bar/tearoom and toilets. Most people opted to sit on the top deck. This has plastic seating in the first 5 rows and the back rows have padded seats. Although it was a sunny day, it was cold whilst we were sailing - had I known we were going to do a river trip I wouldn't have worn a sun dress as I got quite cold! It was a pleasant trip. Commentary was via a pre-recorded cd talking about the sights and history to be seen along the bankside and it's quite fascinating to see all the lovely houses on the waters' edge. We asked for tea and cakes which was brought to us by the Captain's 'mate' a pleasant young lady with hair dyed green! It was an enjoyable trip aside from the fact that I'd taken my 5 year old granddaughter for whom the trip was just too long. She enjoyed going through the Bray Lock gates but at that age they don't understand the incredible engineering and history behind it. I would definitely recommend a river cruise if you want a relaxing afternoon but do take a blanket or some warm clothes!

It doesn't just have a paddling pool. It has a whole complex of them, on different levels. The centre of the site has a small hill. One side is mounds of square concrete blocks made to look like cliffs. Fabulous for kids who love to climb, or to sit on. On the other side are three giant slides. Another feature is a zipline (closer to ground level!). Overall great for the more active and adventurous kids, whether that means exploring a paddling pool for the younger ones, or heading for the slides for those older. We took our 2 children (2 and 4) to Rascals for the first time yesterday. The play area is really compact, as everything is in a self contained cube, covered in strong netting that goes up to 3 levels in height (almost to the ceiling). So whilst its a good use of space, it doesnt leave much room around the edges for parents to sit and have a rest (there was a private party that had most of the tables reserved). At the same time its the only area where children can run from one area to the next so at times it can also get very crowded. When we went we didnt really relax as the only seats were next to a very noisey football game (yes we expected it to be noisey but not to struggle to speak to each other!). There were also trays of food on tables which hadnt been cleared away, so that didn't leave a great first impression either. When you go it might be quieter and cleaner, but at least our children seemed to enjoy it, and its near to where we live so we might go again. But only if we cant find anywhere better!
