I know absolutely nothing about computers so when I have a problem I am always at the mercy of the repair person. For years I always feel like my lack of knowledge results in my getting taken advantage of for repair pricing. I mean how can absolutely every time something goes wrong with my computer the cost to repair be $180.00 ?Well I stumbled on Swat PC while having a cup of coffee across the street at Dagney's and took my laptop in. Well the previously quoted $180.00 with no guarantee it would work, cost me $35.00 at Swat PC and has worked like a charm since. Last month my mini laptop was running so slow it was obvious there was a virus or spyware or something like that affecting it. I was in a hurry so once again I took it to the repair place close to me at California Ave and Stockdale Highway, next to Starbucks and was quoted my standard $180.00. The next week I dropped it off at Swat and they fixed it 100% in one day for $52.00. This place is great and I took a handful of their business cards so I could hand them out to friends. Yesterday I needed some repair to my computer, and I had remembered that I had used Swatt PC several years ago and was pleased. So, I took my equipment to their location on Eye St in Bakersfield. I believe it was James that I discussed with that the PC was not working. He stated he would look at it and give me a call. I paid the customary $30 fee and was on my way. Around 3pm I received a call James and he informed me that nothing was wrong with the PC and that they had cleaned up some items in the PC and it was working as it should. He asked me to bring in the monitor so he could check it out. When I got there, he checked out the monitor and all was well. I asked him what I owed, and he said nothing, no repair work was performed. That is what I call excellent customer service, over and above what you usually receive in Bakersfield. I recently brought in my custom-built PC for diagnostics and repair after running into some issues that I couldn't figure out on my own. From the moment I dropped it off, I felt completely at ease. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and immediately made me feel reassured. I was overwhelmed and unsure of what was wrong, but he took the time to explain things to me and kept me updated throughout the entire process. Despite dropping it off towards the end of the week, he was able to diagnose the problem and communicate the issues within just a few days. I had the opportunity to have Brent help me with my PC, he went the extra mile to help me with a CPU that required a bios update. He cleaned my PC inside and out, re-managed my cables, fixed my power button, among other things he didn't even have to do, for next to nothing without asking. He did all of the work in a single day, helping me get my computer and 3d printing setup back running. Great guy, charged so little I felt a little bad! So glad I trusted him versus the guys at The Computer Depot, hands down SWAT PC has my business in the future when I need help, already recommended my family to go there. Thanks to SWAT PC I can now do something on my PC that I haven't been able to do for two years: use my CD-rom drive! Two independent shops in town and one big box had shrugged their shoulders at it. Brent and the other tech's at SWAT took the time to read notes they'd made from the one time it had been in for service at SWAT prior to this and volunteered to fix my CD-rom issue for no additional charge (I took it in for a startup problem which they fixed for the initial diagnostic fee which was very reasonable). These guys are fair, honest, and thorough...a great place to go when you need to get more mileage out of your computer. read more

I have a small plumbing business and until recently always had a family member do my computer repairs. When my main computer crashed, I looked through the ads with a skeptical eye, thinking I was going to get mistreated and/or ripped off, and that the repair companies probably inflated their claims of knowledge and professionalism.
