I am not without experience as to what makes a great salon and a great haircut. Sway is top notch in my book. The team there has always been friendly, personable, and artful. The salon is trendy and hip, without being snobbish or pretentious. My experience there is always an oasis of calm and relaxation within a hectic day. Your experience there will begin with a sumptuous massage. Melting away the stress from shoulders, neck, jaw, and scalp sets such a wonderful platform for a great cut. Kitty even massages my earlobes. Ahhh bliss. Cuts are never rushed nor hurried. I never feel like an egg timer is about to go off, or that the next 'victim' is about to trundle down the assembly line. I've dated stylists who started out in chop shops and were supposed to 'process' a customer every 10-15 mintues. That will never be your experience at Sway. The quality of cut, attention to detail and desired outcomes are never at risk in the Sway teams hands. Months ago to save money in these tough times, I shamefully made a trip to a chop shop. I won't say where, but embarassingly enough, you can also buy bananas and a big screen T.V. there. I spent $10 less than I would have at Sway, and was promptly processed in and out in 14 minutes. My hair was shorter; and that's about the only good I can say about the cut. Needless to say, I've returned to Sway and been faithful ever since. I strongly suggest giving them a try. The entire team there is wonderful, but I highly recommend Kitty or Marci as my personal favorites. No one there has ever dissappointed me though. read more

I've been going to Sway since I relocated from Seattle in 2006. I love Sway for a variety of reasons: *It's an Aveda Salon and I love Aveda products. I use their hair care products exclusively and won't get my hair cut anywhere except an Aveda salon. I also use some of their skin care and make-up products.........so I guess that makes me an Aveda snob. *It's always easy and convenient for me to get an appointment to see my stylist whom I adore. *They don't charge me for a bang trim in between hair cuts. *Marci, my stylist, is always attentive and responsive to me. I get bored with my hair style frequently but don't want to make drastic changes for one reason or another and Marci always comes up with something that totally satisfies my need for change. *Everyone is friendly and helpful. I always get a warm greeting when I walk through the door and am made to feel welcome right away. There are many other reasons why I love Sway but these are top on my list. I've had such a good experience there and with Marci that I've referred four of my girlfriends (with very different personalities, likes, and dislikes) to her and they've all left very happy. There's always a cool vibe at Sway. To wit: -The music's good. -The conversation is festive. -The street-side entry and look and feel of the place gives off a modern, inviting atmosphere. -They always offer a beverage when you come through the door. -They give the best scalp massages. -The stylists are fun, smart and up on the latest trends and techniques. -The stylists are attentive, responsive and honest in the best senses of the word. They don't send people out into the world looking bad, or with a hairstyle that they can't pull off. -They sell Aveda products, and might suggest a product that might work for you, but in a decade of going there, I've never been subject to a hard sell. There's more, I'm sure, but that's good enough to get an idea of the place. It's one of the cooler places in town, and it has a really diverse clientele. I'm always surprised at how many people I run into there; it definitely qualifies as a community unto itself. Marci is THE BEST hairdresser I have ever had. They are cutting edge (no pun intended). When I showed up at the wrong time, she still worked me in. And when my husband came in for a quick cut before a meeting across the street, she worked him in (even though we were just there to buy some product). All of the staff there go overboard to make sure you are comfortable, understand their products, and have a positive experience. The first time I got my hair colored, the color didn't stay. I came back two weeks later to buy a different product and she sat me in the chair and redid it for free. I hadn't even asked, but she wanted me to be happy. If you are dissatisfied, don't just diss someone--talk to them and give them the opportunity to fix it! They will, and HAPPILY! read more

I've been going to Sway Hair Spa for nearly 5 years now and just love it! I've had my hair cut, colored and styled by four different stylists at Sway (Marci, Marla, Cassie, and Kitty) and have had a wonderful experience with all of them. I've recommended Sway to multiple friends and I've even recommended that all the bridesmaids get their hair styled at Sway when I've been in weddings the past few years. I've been going to Sway for years. I see both Kitty and Marci. The atmosphere is laid back with a real eclectic range of music always in the background. I like that all age ranges of folks seem to feel comfortable here. Now regarding my hair...Kitty is always willing to try something fun with my hair or offer suggestions if I am bored with my "do." I bet I get one compliment a week that includes the question, "where do you get your hair done?" Getting my hair cut is always a great experience and treat for me! I trust Marci with my hair because I know she will always do just what I ask. Now that I have been going to her for so long I never even have to tell her what to do, she just knows what I like. She always does a fun but neutral color on my hair! The atomsphere is great too! I've been going to Sway Hair Spa for years and wouldn't think of going any place else. I moved a few months ago and drive over an hour for services, and it is well worth the drive.
