I've been coming to this place for quite sometime now, but Sway has always treated me the same every time since day 1 with respect love and friendship, it doesn't feel like I'm there to get a cut and leave it feels like I'm there to catch up and talk about things going on in life while I'm getting a haircut. The new place is very nice looking and well maintained. The haircut is always on point never lacks the magic Sway always uses to bless my head. As a full-time traveler, I am constantly struggling to find a good barber shop and/or hair salon while on the road. Every time I need a haircut, I find myself in a new town. More often than not, I leave disappointed. Well, that's not the case when I visit the Coachella Valley. I came across Sway's Lounge on Yelp and they didn't disappoint. I came here for a haircut because: 1. I needed it and 2. I was proposing to my girl later that night, so I was trying to have a fresh cut. I called to schedule the appointment and show up for my cut, all going smoothly. The place is pretty big and super chill, they had Eastbound & Down playing on the TV, so it was a nice vibe in there. I sat down for my cut and that's when the experience started to go downhill. The dude wasnt all that friendly, not a big deal, but he didn't seem interested in what I wanted as far as a haircut. I explain the cut I wanted and he worked on my hair for about 10-15 mins and then showed me the cut, I had to ask some minor adjustments, which he sort of did... The cut was $25 bucks, I gave him $40 and went on my way. When I got home and showered and look at myself, I see half of the hair on the top of my head is almost double the length on one side than it is on the other. I never write reviews on here, but getting busted haircuts is a crime against humanity...I'm sure this dude could've done a great job, I just caught him on a bad day. So be careful! read more

Hate to say it but this was hands down the worst haircut I've ever gotten...However, Sway wasn't the person who cut my hair, and in his defense I've heard nothing but good things about him. I walked in to check the place out and one of his barbers cut my hair and all I can say is that I literally left that barbershop and drove straight to my other barber to try and minimize the damage. Again, there were a few barbers there and I'm sure they are great, but my recommendation for a first timer would be to sit and watch each barber do a few cuts before you decide who to choose. read more

I live in New Jersey and needed a barbershop for a haircut for my groomsmen and I before my wedding. I called and set up 3 appointments with these guys over the phone without ever having been there before. Some may say this was ballsy but based on their photos on Yelp I knew that I would not be disappointed. From start to finish I could not have been more satisfied with my experience at this shop. These guys are all super cool as well as REALLY good barbers. They had me looking SHARP on my wedding day. The atmosphere of the shop is really cool as well. Very mellow, and they definitely created a laid back spot to chill, shoot some pool or watch the game while waiting. If you're in the La Quinta area for any reason, whether it be a wedding or Coachella you should definitely go see these guys. Excellent customer service and damn good haircuts! read more

I've waited to put a review on this shop because I wanted to see how things would go as a new customer after the 1st cut and I have to say my experience has been great. I was hesitant to leave my other barber, like any other person is, after 3 year with him. I decided to try out Sway's Lounge and I was pleasantly surprise. They mainly work by appointment only but he or his staff sometimes have cancelations that allow for walk in's. I get my cut done with Sway and every time I've made an appointment I know that time is reserved for me. I show up sometimes right on time and he's ready for me. Occasionally I've shown up a bit late but he has been able to accommodate me, in return when he is running behind I have no problem waiting. After walking into the shop i noticed the barber awards. After every cut, it is clear why those awards were given to Sway. His cuts are clean and I get complemented almost every time I get a fresh cut. I've seen the work of his other barbers and without a doubt won't hesitate to sit in the chair with them. The pool table, TV and Lounge area make it comfortable for me and when my lady has to wait for me while I cut my hair. Water or soda's are made available for sale which is a nice option. This is a cash only business but an ATM is available in the shop if you forget to bring cash. The other Barbers, Mike, Stacie and Eddie make for good conversations and a comfortable experience. Winston and Dyna will keep the kids entertained as well. I have found a new Barber and have no problem recommending anyone to this shop. A suggestion: Make an appointment in advance with any barber. You might get lucky and find one of them available for a walk in but to be on the safe side make an appointment. read more
