DEFINITELY WORTH A READ! On January 31st, 2019 I had parked my vehicle in the back plaza of Emre Canatan's business "Quest Health & Performance" located at 231 Wallace Avenue, Toronto. All the businesses in the plaza share a rear parking lot and I was going to a business in the plaza. Toronto had just had a snow storm a few days ago and there were large piles of plowed snow everywhere. After coming out from my appointment, I witnessed a meter of fresh snow on top of my vehicle's roof, front windshield and hood. While I was brushing off the snow from my vehicles roof, a balding and vertically challenged man, baring a thick accent, came outside through the back door of a business called "Quest Health and Performance" and asked me " Is this your car?". I responded confirming that the vehicle under the mound of snow was indeed my car. The man then answers with "You cannot park here, it belongs to Quest!". I advised the man that I did not know that the spot "belonged" to Quest prior to parking there and then asked him if he had done this to my vehicle to which he then cowardly stated that he did not know who had done this but that I am not to park in "his spot" in the future. I asked the man his name to which he identified as "Emre". I advised Emre that I would be getting in touch with his boss in regards to what he had done. The business I was in, confirmed that "Emre" had entered the business aggressively in anger attempting to locate the individual that had parked in "his spot" to which the business advised it was likely an honest mistake and that he is not to interact with their clients however he is more than welcome to park in any of their spots in the back. Emre caused damage to my passenger-side windshield wiper which was bent due to the amount of snow that was placed on top of the vehicle's wipers. I had to buy new a new set of wipers. Surprisingly, it turns out that Emre Canatan is the owner of the business Quest Health & Performance. Instead of going to Toronto Police in regards to the mischief that occurred to my property, I figure it would be more useful to advise potential future customer's of the business' lack of professionalism when representing their business. In 2019, a hand written note expressing that you may not park in this spot is sufficient enough to get a message across. It is distasteful and concerning that the owner, while representing his own business would choose to deal with such a small misunderstanding by damaging someones property. Id' hate to see what else he is capable of. To those that are considering giving this business their money and time, I would strongly discourage it. As someone who is in the health field themselves, there are several other great facilities that do conduct their businesses honestly and professionally, treating members of the public with respect. I'm giving this business and it's owner a 1 star due to it's strongly distasteful "professionalism" or lack there of. I also gave it 1 star as there is no option to give it "no stars".

I found out about them and started going there after buying a Groupon deal for $39 - 28 days of unlimited classes. Its a steal when you realize how good the classes are. It can be done by anyone regardless of your fitness level. They always ensure you're doing the exercises properly and feeling okay as it gets more intense. They're always available to talk whether it's about exercises, food, success stories or anything else. I had a muscle cramp a few days ago and Ellysia helped me with stretching exercises, classes and tips on how to get better from it. This "one on one coaching" opportunity you get before and after your workouts is amazing and doesn't make you feel like you're just one more person as you can sometimes feel at your local gym. The good: A training paradise. Tons of the best gear, including hard-to-find things like battle ropes and a sled. Never having to fight for space to train. Super knowledgable staff that are just fun to be around. Fun and varied routines that got me back on track and feeling confident by the end of the month. Everything is clean, tidy, odour free. The bad: I can see cost being an issue for some people. I'd suggest talking to the staff to see what works best for your fitness goals.

May the force (i.e. Protein) be with you.... Whether you're a budding star athlete or a joe schmoe looking to improve your body composition, Bang Fitness can help you with physical development needs. I've had the privilege of training with Geoff and his great staff at Bang during my time in Toronto and I've definitely noticed some changes in my physical form, energy and mentality. While it wasn't all roses all of the way, they made some great strides over the past year in their staff, facilities and programming. Seriously these guys are ready to rock. I'm happy with the changes I've seen in myself and I'm keen to continue my progress even though sadly I'll be leaving these good people behind. Whereas before I used to bellyache about lifting heavy weights or pushing massive objects I now find myself relishing round after round of sweaty punishment! What makes Bang awesome: 1. People come here to work. There's two main options for gym-goers here: semi-private training under the guidance of several coaches or regularly scheduled classes such as kettle bells or metabolic circuits. Each visit, I see gym goers of all ages strutting their stuff and pushing their limits. Vanity gym bunnies: check your egos at the door. 2. Old school programming. Prowlers, bumper plates, kettlebells...all the good stuff is here. You worried about form? They'll show you the basics and graduate you on to harder exercises along your journey. Long term success is not compromised for short term results. 3. Passionate and down to earth staff. They'll let you know if you can perform that set with a heavier weight. They're concerned about your movement but they also want to see you working to your fullest potential as well. Caveats? There are a couple. The shower and change rooms are small and merely ordinary. In fact, the whole space will come as a let down to anyone used to training in a boutique gym environment. Substance and functionality before style. And yes, it's expensive. Bang is by no means cheap but the prices are reasonable for what you get in return. You could bang it out (no pun intended) on the machines at your local Goodlife but you would not get nearly the amount of personalized attention and advice at this independent outfit. If you're serious about making some gains in your physical fitness, check these guys out!

You don't just walk in and have someone guide you through the exercises and cheer you on. It starts way before that. First of all THERE IS PARKING..FREE. Secondly, YOU are the focus. Its not your regular gym, full of others clamoring to get on the equipment. No line ups, no crowds, rather one on one focus and attention. Thirdly, the atmosphere is cheery, open, bright, professional and calming. More importantly, Alex (owner & trainer), really dissects everything about you before getting started on your first routine. He asks what your goals are, and also watchs how you carry yourself when you walk and initially perform the exercises. He understands body mechanics, and knows exactly how far to push you. He pointed out that when I walked, I leaned forward, and was not using my buttocks, putting undo pressure on my knees. Needless to say, I now have buns of steel, and my knees are thanking me. All my 61 years of life, I've been walking this way, and none of my past trainers pointed any of this out. Oh, and don't let me forget, Alex does not let you get away with wimping out or complaining. You always know where you stand with Alex. He has this honest, direct, open minded, educated, and has very motivating approach. Another important aspect that I like, is that Alex works with other professionals in the neighbourhood, and will recommend and work together with them, to provide total overall health assessments. That 'instructor' is no longer with the bootcamp. There are 4 different, knowledgeable, trainers for 5 nights a week. Each class is different, with Boxfit on tuesdays, Pilates on wed, bootcamp Mon, Thurs, Friday. Love the variety. It's tough but you get a great workout. They incorporate everything from kettle bells to bosu balls. The trainers are helpful, where they will point out how you can do an exercise better without making you feel like an idiot. Classes are small so you get the attention that's needed. I've made some great friends here, learned a ton, not only about exercise but also nutrition and health. Love this place...

This place was a joke!…read more I have done plenty of Bootcamps in my life and I can't believe these guys actually have paying clients... I paid $20 for 5 classes via Deal Canada.ca and I still feel thoroughly ripped off. First off there is the Website. A jumbled nightmare sales pitch more concerned with talking about "why we are better" than provide basic info like parking information, instruction on getting into the building (which was locked upon arrival) or the fact that a mat is required! I was expecting to have a registration session. This would be where you'd be measured, weighed and given a waiver to sign... none of that was done. What if we would have gotten injured in class? Instead, when we walked in the instructor was eating and telling us he hated DealCanada (awesome... nice to meet you too!) He tried hard to get to know us... too hard even. Barking out our names as some kind of turrets mnemonic device he had created for bootcamp (see... we ARE better!) The bootcamp lasted about 45 mins! The "warmup consisted of swinging our legs front to back than side to side... TAH DAH you are warm right?! Then we used resistant bands, puny kettle-balls and medicine balls. There wasn't enough equipment for everyone so some of us had to struggle with weights too heavy or breeze through with weights too light. I broke a sweat during the floor work because frankly my core sucks but for the most part my heart rate stayed pretty mellow. If this was a decent workout I shouldn't be able to have a full conversation with full breath. In fact I was able to come up with witty quips for every time our idiot instructor decided to randomly say my name, ask me stupid questions or tell the class he hates Yoga (really?!) My favourite part of class was the "stretching" at the end where the instructor said: "Just stretch what needs to be stretched" and watch us do whatever stretches we knew. In my opinion this is a terrible workout, and in some cases dangerous as I saw older woman adopt terrible form as they flung kettle-balls over their heads while locking their knees etc... If you bought a voucher here try to get a refund because it's not work it at all.

I've been working with Vysh 1:1 for 3 months and have had the best training experience of my life…read more I came to her 2 months postpartum feeling disconnected from my body and dealing with a lot of aches and pains relating to the changes my body went through. I wanted to get stronger and focus on functional fitness to make my life as a new mom (lifting a rapidly growing baby) easier and pain free. She met me where I was and tailored our sessions around my goals, even going as far as practicing good form getting up and down from the floor with a baby in hand. We spend time each session checking in on where I'm at physically, emotionally, mentally and adapt the session as needed (like if I'm running on very little sleep). After only about a month of working with Vysh I had gotten stronger and most of my daily pain was gone. Now I continue to see my strength and endurance improve and am looking forward to continuing training with Vysh and working on my next set of goals together. Her trauma informed approach and the language that she uses makes it such a safe space, especially compared to other experiences at large gyms. For folks who may have had bad experiences in toxic gym environments and are looking for a trainer and a safe space for a diversity of bodies & backgrounds, I can't recommend Vysh enough!

He not only knows about fitness and training, but also amazing at nutrition and health issues.
