If you live in the US and want to order from this company, be prepared for a big pain in the butt! I placed an order on 12/17/17 during their sale and scored a couple of really cool sweatshirts I had seen previously at full price but didn't want to pay (their clothes are ridiculously expensive!) Then a couple of days later on 12/22/17 I get another sale email that new items were added and found a sweater and placed an order for that.
On 12/26/17 I send an email to their customer service to get a shipping update on my first order placed on 12/17 as I got a shipping email but no updates. Remember, you're talking to London so there is a time difference. The next day I get an email saying my order was lost. That's it. And the items I ordered are now out of stock. Sorry. So I contact iParcel (international shipper) to see if they had it or could track it. iParcel never received the package so it was lost by Sweaty Betty - in their warehouse or the order was never fulfilled in the first place.
So I send another email asking what they are going to do. Refund me? Offer me a discount on something else? The supervisor emailed me most of the time but English must be a second language because the comprehension of what she would write was not easy. I was offered 2 new sweatshirts. But nothing saying they would be at a discount. So, from what I understand, Sweaty Betty lost my order and I could order 2 new sweatshirts at full price. But not at a discount. How is that any compensation?
Second order that is yet to arrive 1/4/18 ordered on 12/22/17 and shipping says it will be her 1/8/18. Over the NYE weekend, Sweaty Betty offered an additional 30% their sale items. I hadn't received this second sweater so called this time, to see if they might do a price adjustment for my trouble with the other order. No. That's not their policy. I could reorder that sweater and take advantage of the extra 30%. But it was already out of stock. So I chatted with customer service but she couldn't do anything for me, only the supervisor could help with any discounts or compensation for the lost order. Because it was the weekend, I was told Tuesday 1/2/18 I would receive an email from the supervisor giving information on my refund and if there would be any discount applied to anything for my trouble. No email. By this point, I'm sick of them and I emailed them and told them to refund my lost order and be done with this mess.
If you live in England or anywhere that doesn't need to leave their country, then you might have a fine experience. But if you live outside of England, expect loooong shipping times and hope nothing goes wrong. Because if it does, it will probably be a major pain. The only thing positive I can say about this company is they respond to emails quickly. But they really don't offer much more in the way of customer service. I ordered a couple of sweaters from Sweaty Betty a few years back and didn't have a problem so I didn't think twice to order from them this time. But I will never, ever order from this company again. read more
