A clean well oiled machine. Stop you at entrance, take your temperature. Masks enforced and only two in the elevator at one time. Stairs are empty so I used those instead.

Overlake? Did not catch a bona-fide heart attack, overlooked the elevated triponin enzymes and said my shortness of breath and chest pain was due to (drum roll) having a BMI of 29. Because chubby ladies with pain in their back and jaw are always just, you know, chubby. Plus side? The billing people were really nice. Evergreen? Found the heart defect. Doctor was a dick. Billing? Pretty shabby. Stanford? The Taj Mahal of medical care. Every single person at Stanford brings their A-game. Billing? pffft. Nary a copay. Just a nice Christmas card. Virginia Mason? Easily on par with Stanford. Despite my odd and very rare heart issue and equally rare semi-experimental surgery in another state, the cardiology department at Virginia Mason has helped me through a bumpy recovery. I just saw a GI doctor today at the Issaquah VM. Amazing! She spent nearly 45 minutes with me (and I was late) and willingly listened to my wandering heart story and my naturopathic tricks to soothe my heart medicine induced reflux. Billing? A few hiccups, but really nice people that answer the phone and speak english.

My experience at Virginia Mason Issaquah was a troubling example of what is wrong with our…read morehealthcare system today. It began at check-in. The receptionist asked if I had questions for the doctor. When I explained I was there for my annual checkup, she rudely told me that if I had questions, I would not be having my annual visit. I responded by asking how I was supposed to establish a relationship with a physician if I wasn't allowed to ask questions. Without explanation, she abruptly stood up, grabbed paperwork, handed it to me, and said, "Fill this out because you have questions." I told her I had already completed all paperwork online. She threw it down and told me to go sit down. A few minutes later, the medical assistant took me back and politely asked how my morning was going. I said it had been fine until I arrived. When I explained what had happened, she acknowledged that the receptionist should not have handled it that way. The doctor then came in and asked the same question. I gave the same response. The appointment itself was extremely brief and superficial. There was no meaningful attempt to get to know me, my history, or my concerns. It felt rushed and impersonal. I was then sent for blood work and dismissed. Two weeks passed with no results. When I called, I was told everything was available on MyChart. I explained that I had not signed up because I did not plan on returning. I was told the results would be mailed, but during that call they discovered both my address and phone number were incorrect. They said it would be fixed. Four weeks later, I still had not received anything. I called again and was told they had been trying to reach me to confirm my address--yet my address and phone number were still wrong in their system. This is completely unacceptable. Poor communication, incorrect records, dismissive staff behavior, and lack of basic follow-up resulted in a wasted annual insurance benefit and a deeply disappointing experience. I regret not reading the reviews beforehand. Be cautious if you choose to go here
